This hotel (for our wedding night/ guest block) ended up being a pretty terrible experience. They lost our reservation twice and I had to confirm right up until the date to make sure they did not lose it again. They were incredibly expensive and added nothing special to the room or accommodations. When trying to block off rooms they gave us no discount and wanted most of the money up front. We also booked almost 6 months in advanced and they told us they had no suites available. Parking was difficult too. All in all not a great experience. On a side note I also wanted to have my wedding here and after 6 or more unreturned phone calls to their wedding planner I finally just gave up.

This rental group dropped off and set everything up within a matter of minutes. They also scheduled to come back and pick everything up. We had to worry with nothing. They were on time and efficient, they only problem was that once they arranged everything we realized they had set it up facing the wrong direction. Completely our error but we did have to rearrange at the last minute. It was still simple enough to do and everything turned out wonderfully. All the chairs were in great condition and everything looked very professional.

This was a great place to hold our rehearsal dinner because it was very fun and low key and provided people with both dinner and entertainment. There were a lot of menus to choose from and they also matched the linens and balloons to your wedding colors. They had a ton of different game and room packages. We ended up choosing a room with pool tables, guitar hero, darts, and air hockey so our guest could play games all night long. We also were able to add on to packages very easily. There was a ton of food and lots of space. They even gave us our own bartenders for the night and everything was very reasonably priced. You do have to put down a 50% deposit, which was a little pricey right up front but actually came in handy to have taken care as things got closer to the wedding date.

If I could give this a 10 star rating I would. I stumbled on this location looking through websites much like this one. It had one review and it was a rave. After calling to schedule a site visit, I was amazed. I worked directly with the chef and owner Phillip Thomason. The menu he worked up for us was amazing and truly wonderful. He provided all the flower arrangements for the table at no additional cost. He also gave us the whole restaurant for the entire night and him and his staff created an atmosphere that made me feel like a million dollars. As a bride on a budget I never imagined I could have a movie star wedding but this location makes you feel like you can. It was so beautiful we have become some of his best customers. The only downside is the size would not be conducive to a large wedding.

We had a horrible experience at Men’s Warehouse. My groom and his groomsmen went to here to get their tuxes. We had problems right from the start. During the initial fitting they had my groom try the tux on over his clothes!! Then when we went back to pick up the tux the night before our wedding, his tux was wrong. Everything was wrong, wrong tie, wrong shoes, everything. It also of course didn’t fit. When I expressed my unhappiness to the manager she acted as if I was crazy and said it will be fixed before tomorrow what is the big problem. They offered no apology, no discount and did not seem to think it was a big deal at all. All the groomsmen’s tuxes were incorrect as well. They were incredibly expensive and had terrible customer service.

We purchased the grooms ring here. They were very friendly and helpful but their selection was only okay. We were looking for Tungsten Carbide because my groom is in the military and we wanted a metal that would be safe for work. They only had a few options in this metal and only a few sizes available so we had to order it. When the ring came in they forgot to call us and tell us it was ready so after a few weeks of waiting we finally got in touch with them. Their prices weren’t terrible but they weren’t exceptional either. There were a lot of other jewelry stores with great selection but their prices were really high, this was the only mall we checked in the area and might have had better luck in a different location.

This place has an excellent selection of invitations and save the dates. They have a huge table in the back where you can spread out all the books and look through them at your own pace. The sales staff was helpful and friendly but not overbearing. They were there to answer questions and make suggestions but had no problem with you taking your time to look on your own. They had everything you could possibly imagine from the truly wacky to the very traditional. They only downside is that they were a little expensive.

I loved our honeymoon location. Set in the mountains it was a truly beautiful setting with a wonderful history. They have all inclusive options, where you can include your food and activity. We added on many spa treatments and golf. The 1766 Grill was amazing and was worth the up charge of $35 per person. We had such a wonderful amazing trip, everywhere we went people knew it was our honeymoon. They upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge and sent over champagne with almost every meal. They also went out of their way to accommodate any wishes we might have. It was expensive but totally worth it. We were the youngest couple there by about 25 years but we still had the most romantic time.

Let me just start by saying under normal circumstances I love this salon. They do great work and I recommend everyone I know to them. EXCEPT on your wedding day!! First off my stylist Jennifer is wonderful great work, reasonable prices, flexible schedule. However, it is Eve, the owner, that does the bride’s up do. Taking several breaks to smoke and scheduling another client that overlapped my appointment made this a nightmare. My hair ended up falling before we even got to the ceremony and I was very very late leaving the salon even though I had scheduled plenty of time. She said none of her brides are ever on time for their wedding, which I took as a bad sign. I was in there weeks later to have my hair cut and colored and the same scenario was going on only this time she had scheduled two BRIDES at the same time. Needless to say no one was happy.

We got married along the Elizabeth River, outside of Waterside. A beautiful location and a wonderful backdrop for pictures, this was a very affordable ceremony venue. The city charged us only $500 for cleanup and there were a few rules about what we could decorate with but all in all a great location for a wedding. There was lots of space and pretty much a blank canvas to create our dream wedding. The pictures of the ceremony and the pictures of the bridal party before turned out beautifully.
