My first cake girl bailed on me 4 months before my wedding! I was in a panic. I interviewed a couple of people who still had spots open and decided Ann was the girl! She is a bit pricy, but the cake turned out very well! I started out with a picture off the internet that I wanted my cake to look like except I wanted the sugar flowers a different color. She did a really great job replicating the feel of the cake! If I could have changed anything it would have been to make the base fondant color more of a cream instead of a white like it was in the picture, but it was probably my fault for not communicating it to her (3 months before the wedding is very hectic) and it still looked beautiful white too! And it tasted so good as well! We got a white chocolate cake with strawberry and lemon buttercream filling and her Orange Mandarin Cake. Both were AMAZING! They weren’t dry at all (which happens a lot with wedding cakes). She was really great working with us so close to the big day with our other girl bailing on us like that. Would definitely recommend if you can afford.
Chris is a super nice person and great to work with! I would really recommend him to anybody! I really like his option to buy a HD DVD and rights to your pictures. This was one of the main things I was looking for in a photographer. I don't just want some of my pictures... I want ALL of them!! And it's a really affordable price too. He devotes his whole day to you (no matter what package you get) and he gives you suggestions of photo printing websites to go to instead of buying all your pictures from him (talk about saving you money). He likes to meet at The Hub in Danville (best coffee ever!!... total plus), but he will meet you other places too and work around your schedule. His prices aren't posted on his website, but he will email them to you, no problem. We spent about $1800, but we got the next to priciest package and bought the rights to our pictures.

We had a "served" dinner for 200 at $20 each. After linen rental this came out to $4405.00. The food was very good, but if I had to do it over, I would have just had a buffet style ($15/person) because it was not served in the style that a restaurant is served (trays and a waiter), but on carts and only 2-3 people to serve. This took a lot of time to serve this many people and I thought the cart thing was sort of tacky. But, like I said, the food was good and our guests seemed to enjoy it. I would hire them again, but only to do buffet style. Karen (owner) is nice, but sometimes hard to get a hold of. FYI

I have no complaints with Teresa's floral arrangements. They were beautiful! Although she is a bit expensive. We spent $2715.00 on minimal flowers. However, she left all the corsages/boutonnieres in the church and didn't tell anyone and left before the wedding so half the people that should have gotten corsages/boutonnieres didn't. All other weddings I'd been to, the florist had stayed to hand them out or at least told someone to do it. I had no clue till I after the wedding. It was a big waste of money (they were like $10-$15 each!) I was kind of upset with her for this.
I have recently found out that Theresa was not in charge of delivering the flowers... only making them. The florist she worked for was in charge of delievery and etc. So in light of this, as I said before, her flowers were absolutely beautiful! She was great!

Pat was very good at what she did, but pricy. All I got done was a French bustle and the top taken in less than a half an inch on one side and it was $285. And my dress wasn't that complicated (not all lacy and etc). It did have some beading on the train and some on the top, but that's it. Nothing overly complicated. However, if you are a picky person or if you just need your dress to fit you perfectly, Pat is the person to go to. Just be prepared to shell out some major cash.
I love Kelange Spa!!
Breakdown of cost:
Brazilian Wax - $60
Underarm Wax - $18
Makeup Application - $30 (they use and sell Bare Minerals)
Pedicure with French tips - $34
Angela does the Waxing and Makeup. She is so great! She is very friendly and knowledgeable. I am very picky about my makeup, but she was very good about listening to me and did a great job! She also does a great job about making you feel relaxed if you've never had a wax "down there" (which I hadn't). I would recommend getting a "trial-run" wax like everything else (hair, makeup and etc.) if you've never gotten one before (about 3-4 months before your wedding) just so you know how your skin will react. Don't want any surprises on your honeymoon! She owns Kelange with another girl who does the pedicures and manicures. She is also very nice. There is another girl who does the massages who seems nice as well although I have not had any experience with her.

Land of OZ is a great resource for the bride looking for a bargain. The offer 30% off invitations (and I think it's something like 15% off the other things like response cards and etc.). They have all the name brands, just lower prices! Don't be dissuaded by the "hole in the wall" appearance. Mike and Faye are great and very helpful! They are by appointment only, which is a little inconvenient, but it's worth it for the great deals they have. They are usually open (like I said, by appointment only) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but they will work it out with you if you can't make it one of those times. We bought 175 invitations with response cards with lined inner envelopes with our addresses pre-written on both the invitation envelopes and the response envelopes (big cost usually) for only about $370.00. Compared to what we were pricing online, this was a steal!! We got a “preview” of our invites for $5 per piece (cost from invitation company – Carlson Craft) and we are really glad we did it because we had to end up altering some things. We will be going back there to buy our programs!!

$650 for my dress
$285 for my veil
$65 for my slip
$135.50 for each bridesmaid dress (X5) - had 15% discount b/c I bought my dress there.. they were originally $150 something.
Wedding Wonderland was probably the smallest bridal shop I went to, therefore I really didn't expect to find the selection of dresses that they had! They were very attentive, but were always very honest about whether a dress looked good on you or not. They never pushed a sale (like many other bridal shops I went to.. trying to get me to buy "that day") and they always seemed very in tune with my needs and respect my decisions. They stayed within my budget and focused on finding my perfect gown. Adiana was the girl who helped me and she was wonderful! The only con was that there is no photography allowed because they carry some exclusive dresses (one of which I acually bought).
I actually found and had my bridesmaids try on their dress somewhere else where the dress cost $195! The dress was much cheaper at Wedding Wonderland, especially with the discount because I bought my dress there.
I would highly recommend Wedding Wonderland! They have extremely personalized service and are not pushy about making a sale at all. They have your needs in mind when you look for a dress. I can't wait to get mine!
March 2009 Update:
Got my dress, veil and slip. They are all beautiful and exactly what I imagined! We did have an issue with the bridesmaids dresses (not Wedding Wonderland's fault). 3 out of the 5 were tagged the wrong size (too small or it wouldn't be too much of an issue) and had to be sent back to the manufacturer (Dessy). They are replacing the gowns and will have them in 1 month (1 month before the wedding). Hopefully everything will be fine the second time around! Whew!! Wedding issues abound!! However, Wedding Wonderland has been great through it all!
We also rented our guy's tuxes from there. The groom gets his for free if 6 other guys rent theirs (can include fathers and such) FOB also gets 25% off. Tuxes we picked were about $150 each for all pieces (shoes, shirt and etc.)

We shopped around for a while for a ring (I'm very picky and wanted to choose my own). My engagement ring ended up costing about $6,000.00. I got a 1.04 carat oval E SI2 Candian diamond with two small (about .15 carat) half moon diamonds on the side. Dave Faigle helped us through the entire search. He was so patient and helpful through the entire process! He never pressured us to buy anything (like most jewelers). It took me almost 3 months to pick out the center stone! I thought my fiance was going to kill me at the end! But Dave was very patient and great through the entire thing. He wanted to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I knew I wanted an oval, about a carat, at least an F in color and no flaws to the naked eye. We searched through stone after stone until I found the perfect one. Then he hand made the setting with the side stones (because they were an odd shape and I didn't want them sitting right beside the oval... more down). The end result was beautiful!!! Exactly what I wanted! And the best part is, my ring appraised for almost $10,000.00!!! We got a much better deal at Faigle than we would have gotten at any of the chain jewelers (trust me, we shopped around). I would recomend David and Faigle Jewelers to everyone I know!
We will be going back soon to buy wedding bands!
