We used Country Garden Caterers for our rehearsal dinner and for our wedding reception. I HIGHLY recommend the mashed potato martini bar. Our family and friends especially enjoyed the desserts. Order double dessert and half the food! Everyone was very nice and they accommodated both families for a few tastings so that both sets of parents, my fiance, my maid of honor, and myself could all weigh in on the choices.

Barbara was very understanding of our budget (family of teachers) and gave us some helpful tips to keep costs down. The church coordinator said the overall price was low. I don't remember the final amount, but I think it was around $7,000 for 160 people for beverages, meatballs, mashed potatoes, other finger foods, and cake and little desserts plus the china, table linens, etc.

Other posters mentioned disorganization. With multiple catering contracts going on at once, I'm sure it's difficult to keep them all straight, but Barbara was ALWAYS helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. The staff was VERY friendly and wonderful. We met Diana at our church bridal fair and loved her positive attitude (and the mashed potato martini bar which was a BIG hit!) which influenced our decision.

Our cake was amazing (and I am not a big fan of cake)! People had 2, 3, even 4 desserts! We received MANY compliments about the food and the decor. The rehearsal dinner was at the catering facility and was set up so beautifully. We would definitely use them for an event again. My husband commented on the attention to detail and the displays which he felt were better than most and were above our expectations.

Simply put - great food, good prices, GORGEOUS decor - just stay on top of paperwork to make sure everyone is on the same page. :) I planned my own wedding and found this to be true with many vendors. Ask questions. Get things in writing. Read online reviews. My 2 cents? Hire Country Garden Caterers.

Search the internet for other reviews. I won a bouquet valued up to $350 from Petals by Xavi at a bridal fair. When going in for my consultation, I was told my bouquet was contingent on booking with them. After seeing so many bad reviews, I was hesitant, but to be told I HAD to go with them for my prize when it did NOT say that on the certificate made me run the other way!
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Petals by Xavi responded saying it was contingent on booking. I faxed BBB the certificate. Good idea to make it contingent for business, but the prize certificate DIDN'T say that. Sorry, Petals by Xavi. Bad business decision. They also wrote that my suggestion for resolution was for the cost of an average bouquet from another florist (like I would trust them now for my wedding!) was "absurd!". I felt it was fair. I won a bouquet and they aren't living up to the terms of a contract/certificate they signed.


Also, corderomichelle.'s glowing review does NOT state that she now works for Petals by Xavi. According to the person I spoke to at Petals by Xavi about this, the bride did not work for Petals by Xavi at the time, but is now a consultant. How do I know? I met with her and she told me all about her wedding. She was very nice and hopefully will find a more reputable company to work for.
