It was my husband’s idea to use a pizza place for our rehearsal dinner. We wanted something casual, but that could still cater to the needs of 50+ people, while giving us the space we needed to enjoy being with our families and friends. It was the perfect scenario! They had a private room to accommodate us, provided several different types of pizzas in a buffet style, taking requests for certain toppings. They have a bar for guests who wished to order alcohol, and they allowed us to bring in our own dessert. It’s a little unconventional, but I highly recommend Pie in the Sky as a rehearsal dinner location for a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

Unforgettable Honeymoons was recommended to us by another couple who’d used them for their honeymoon planning. We liked working with them because they will customize a package based on your needs. We gave them the aspects of a honeymoon we wanted, such as all-inclusive, adults only, and somewhere tropical, because our wedding was in October and we wanted to go somewhere we could still go swimming in the ocean! They take your preferences into consideration, along with your budget, and give you a couple recommendations to choose from. They’re a full-service travel agency so they also helped with finding flights that fit into the overall budget. We were also given discounts to use if we ever use them to travel again, which we will probably do!
Like many others, Couples was an all-inclusive resort, and I highly recommend it, especially for any do-it-yourself brides. There are so many things to think about when planning a wedding, and spending a week at an all-inclusive resort was just what I needed after the wedding! No need to think about or plan a thing unless you want to. :) Couples was fantastic! The food was amazing, a great blend of gourmet, casual, and authentic Jamaican. We loved being able to go get a bite to eat or a drink any time of the day or night, even if we were just lounging on the beach – a beverage runner would even take your orders pool or beach-side and bring it back to your chair or hammock. The other aspect we enjoyed was the fact that it’s a couples-only resort. We didn’t have any kids running around or big parties to deal with, just lots of other couples in the same mind set. In addition to relaxing, there were many fun activities you could do. We loved scuba diving and the Catamaran tour, and exploring other parts of the island on the tours they offer. It was the most relaxing, fun, romantic week of my life!

We had a wonderful wedding night at the Marriott. Our check-in was super fast, and one thing that really impressed me was that we declined valet parking, but when we went back to the car to park it, a valet van followed us to our parking space to give us a ride back to the front door anyway. We didn’t even know he’d followed us until we got out of the car! We were treated the way any bride and groom should be, like royalty. They offered a “Romance Package”, which includes champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and whipped cream, living up to its name. The room was beautiful as well.
I know our photographer Melanie specializes in maternity and children photo shoots, but she was an amazing wedding photographer as well! She was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was very professional, full of vision but never forceful or hurried, and her personality is very pleasant and polite. She made the picture-taking part of our wedding day a very fun experience. Everyone loved her! Her style is absolutely gorgeous and she had some awesome ideas for great shots throughout the day. We had an outdoor wedding and I loved the way she utilized the landscape. Her prices are very reasonable compared to other wedding photographers in the Franklin area.
I was recommended to Always in Bloom by my roommate who used them for her wedding. She spoke very highly of her. In doing some research I found she offered reasonable prices compared to other flower vendors in the area, and she was able to tailor our order to just what I needed. She actually worked us in, even though she had another wedding the same day, but I didn’t feel any less taken care of. I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted going in, and she had wonderful suggestions to help me find the right flowers and colors to compliment the rest of the wedding. She was professional and very good at what she does. We were very happy!

We chose S&K for many different reasons. The main factor was that their prices were the best value for what we wanted. We visited several different places, and did find one or two that would have been cheaper, but we were uncomfortable with the level of service we would have been given. S&K were very professional, wonderful to work with, both in the store and over the phone. They have solid policies and great prices, along with good deals such getting the groom’s tux free if you order 4 or more tuxes for any of the other wedding party guys. We felt very confident choosing them to take care of us.
I was recommended to Angel’s Alterations through The White Room, where I bought my dress. Renee runs her own alterations business out of her home in Lebanon, TN. I met with her once to go over what I wanted done (I was changing certain aspects of the dress, not just getting it hemmed or fitted, so it was quite a job). Renee was absolutely wonderful. She saw the vision of what I wanted my dream dress to look like and made it happen. Her prices were VERY reasonable, and she finished it weeks before the time frame she gave me. I highly recommend her, even if you’re not in the Lebanon area. She’s worth the drive!
I love Bill Levkoff’s designs, but dealing with the company was a huge hassle. Like so many, my bridesmaids were all different sizes, so I thought the gown I chose would be a good fit for everyone. What they don’t tell you until you’re ready to order is that you have to pay extra for tall girls and larger sizes. Makes sense, if they need extra material to make them. However, the two girls that had to pay extra (one for extra length, one for a larger size) both had to have major alterations done. The one with extra length had to have several inches hemmed (all the girls did, but hers was ridiculously long), and the one with the larger size had to have it taken way in. In other words, they would have been fine without the extra. I think the “extra material” policy is just a way to get extra money. Beware!

The White Room was a last-minute stop, and I didn’t expect to find anything I could afford (our budget was pretty small), but I discovered that they not only have a HUGE selection of affordable dresses, they also have a 50% off closet – dresses that have been damaged or discontinued. These gowns are bought as-is, but I ended up finding my dress in the 50% off closet, and it was my dream dress! There were a couple runaway strings (the “damage” putting it in the closet), but other wise perfect. I highly recommend at least checking the White Room, even if you have a small budget like ours! The staff there is very helpful and hands-on if you need them.
