I bought all my wedding day bra and panties from Fredericks. They have a great selection of beautiful lingerie and I loved going in there thinking it was okay to get whatever I wanted because it was my wedding night! The lingerie is really classy and tasteful, and they have some fun stuff, too. The staff was nice, and they were okay to keep their distance when I told them I was fine. I also loved how they wrap your purchases. This was a really fun store to visit.

I wanted to do my make-up myself because there was almost three hours between the hair appointment and the ceremony, and I didn’t want to worry about sweating. I went to the Clinique make-up counter by chance at Dillards a few weeks before my wedding and got the best make-up application sessions. The sales associates know how to match color and how to do evening make-up. I went back with my bridesmaids, and we all had make-up consultations. They are nice even if you don’t buy their make-up. I suggest the mascara.

My fiancé picked out his ring from Moody’s in Tulsa because he didn’t want to go to a store in OKC and be seen by someone we knew. His proposal was a surprise, and he got me a beautiful ring. He bought a princess cut bridal set right away so that the band would match the engagement ring. He said that the staff was great about helping him pick out the ring, that they were the ones that suggested getting a bridal set rather than individual pieces. The rings cost just under $2000. When I visited the store with him I saw the appeal of picking the ring here. The store is beautiful, too, and it looks like the kind of place where you will get good quality jewelry. They have cleaned my ring for free since I started wearing it.

They have really good customer service. We showed up for our consultation and we were consulted by one of the junior stylists. I think she did a great job, and the owner came over twice to make sure we were happy. On the wedding day everything went well. Our hair looked great and it stayed in place until the ceremony. I think this is a nice and clean hair salon, I had never been there before but I would go back.

I ordered a groom’s cake for my husband because 1) I loved the idea of getting a penguin cake for him, and 2) because his birthday fell on the Wednesday before the wedding and I didn’t want to neglect his birthday. We had the cake on the Wednesday night during the rehearsal dinner. I had found Ruth’s Sweet Justice through the yellowpages, and when I called her she was more than happy to make the cake I wanted. Ruth was nice over the phone and in person, and she did a great job on the cake. She had so many suggestions of what the groom’s cake could look like, but we choose penguins because that’s what my husband said he looked like in his suit.

I occasionally order dresses and other clothing items online because I can’t always find what I want in OKC or in Tulsa. I bought the dresses from Zappos because I was shopping online and saw the dresses I loved on sale. They were Betsey Johnson dresses, and they were really fun looking online. They looked even better when they arrived. The dresses were really frilly, bright colors, perfect for a summer wedding. Zappos has really good online service, and it was easy to order the dresses in the sizes I needed. My big suggestion is to look at the sizing chart and then to measure the bridesmaids to make sure you get their exact measurements.

I had my bridal shower at my best friend’s apartment. It was a typical party, but when it came time for gift opening my friends shocked me (and my mother) by presenting me with gift after gift of sex toys and costume lingerie from Christie’s Toy Box. I think my friends spent hundreds of dollars on random oils and vibrators and other toys. I was happy that my mom was a good sport about it, and even looked at the massage oil when it was passed around. I was happy that I got gifts instead of a stripper, which would have been really embarrassing in front of my mother.

We drove up here for the show because the timing was perfect. It was okay, I do not thinking you see anything new here that you haven’t already seen in a bridal magazine. I felt that it was more pageant than bridal, and I found some of the vendors to be rather haughty. I think they could also use some more vendors, or more diversity in the number of vendors. We went early to make sure we got parking, and I would suggest going early because of parking. I would also suggest not wearing heels because I walked around so much and stood for so long.

I had two wedding dresses, the formal traditional one that came from a Japanese specialty store in LA and then I was able to pick out a plain white dress from anywhere I wanted. I don’t think shopping at Goodwill has become very popular in Oklahoma yet, but I like shopping there, or at least looking at what they have in stock. I found, by chance, a David’s Bridal dress size 4 with tags still attached at the Goodwill on Britton Road for $130. The retail said the dress was $650. It was the most expensive thing I have ever bought at Goodwill, but I couldn’t pass up the chance. It was a beautiful beaded gown, with buttons down the back. My mother was shocked that I bought my dress from Goodwill, but even more shocked that someone had given the dress away. I think a bride must have bought it and then found another dress.

This was BEST part of my bachelorette party. We started off the night playing mini bingo, which was actually really fun. The place isn’t that small, lots of room and tables, and most of the players seem to know everyone else. We brought in good luck charms, and most people just smiled nicely at us. I shouldn’t say this, but we did sneak flasks in and took a sip everytime someone yelled “bingo”. It’s a fun place, no stress, and one of my bridesmaids even won $50.
