We rented all of our specialty linens from Celebrations Party Rentals in Hayward. We also came here to rent the chairs for my bridal shower. Celebrations is a party supply shop with reasonable prices and good service. The shop is a family run operation. Susan is prompt to return phone calls and emails, which I really appreciated because other party rental companies were much slower in getting back to me. Our order was delivered as agreed and we were happy with the service that we received. The linens we rented were beautiful---I loved them! I will definitely continue to go to Celebrations Party rentals for my future party needs.
Nina is a talented make-up artist and overall a very sweet person. I appreciated that Nina was very passionate about her job and she takes her job very seriously. Nina was set to arrive at our hotel suite at 8AM, but came early to set-up and get situated. The hair/make-up started at 8AM, promptly and as scheduled. I had provided Nina with a list of ladies and also their hair/make-up requests and it was clear that Nina had taken the time to review the document in advance. I was impressed with Nina’s level of preparation and it definitely helped the day to run smoothly.
I paid extra to have Nina stay with me up until the start of my reception—and I was SO glad that I did. Nina helped to touch up my make-up prior to the ceremony/photos and also did a second look with my hair down for the reception. I felt like a queen the whole day! Nina was extremely helpful throughout the whole day and I was so glad for her assistance. Honestly, I am not sure what I would have done without Nina — she transformed me from everyday frump girl to bride diva!
I highly recommend Nina - in fact, I can hardly imagine what my wedding would have been like without her. She is talented, professional, and overall a very sweet woman. Thank you Nina, you’re amazing!

The service at the Pacific Athletic Club is top notch — they really go out of their way to ensure that all the guests are pleased. Our coordinator was Molly Jacobs and she is wonderful. We hired an outside DOC, but probably did not need one since Molly had everything under control. I appreciated that the Pacific Athletic Club fulfilled all of our requests and we never got “No” for an answer. Molly is responsive, and although she can be difficult to reach via email, she is always available via phone. The service on the night of our wedding was impeccable — the dining room was set up correctly, our guests never had an empty wine glass, we were served our meal first, etc. All of the staff was attentive and many of our guests complimented the service.
The food was AMAZING on the night of our wedding. The funny thing is that we tasted the food a couple months prior to our wedding and it was good, but didn’t knock our socks off at the time. I provided Molly with some feedback for our dishes i.e. less saffron on the rice, etc. The club made all of the requested adjustments — in fact, we were so surprised at how delicious the food turned out! People walked up to our sweetheart table in the middle of dinner just to tell us how good the food was. In fact, my husband’s vegetarian uncle came up to tell us that he couldn’t resist tasting someone’s beef dish and that it was delicious! He went on to say that our wedding might be the day he quits being a vegetarian after 15 years. We had the filet mignon with a trio of shrimp and the chicken wellington — both highly recommended.
I consider myself an expert in sweets, cakes, candies, etc. and I can tell you with 100% certainty that Nikki’s cakes are indeed the best cakes in the whole entire universe. I know that you might think that you know someone who makes good cakes—wait until you taste Nikki’s cakes! Neto and I tasted wedding cakes at a lot of different bakeries—but nothing compares to the moist, freshness of Nikki’s cakes. Nikki makes all her cakes on the day of the event—so everything is absolutely fresh on the day of! Everyone commented on how delicious my cake smelled! It was so fresh that you could smell the aroma of fresh cake and sugar.
I wanted our wedding cake to match my overall theme, which was spring, flowers, etc. I provided an example to Nikki and she made my cake even more beautiful than the photo I gave her! I was amazed at how perfectly the cake matched the rest of my decor, Nikki really paid attention to all the instructions and details that I provided. I absolutely had the cake of my dreams—I was so amazed.
Lastly, Nikki is a very kind person to work with. She listens to your input and takes her work quite seriously. I greatly appreciated that Nikki was responsive at all times to email and phone calls. I highly recommend Nicola’s Cake.

DJ Aaron D of Amos Productions served as our DJ/MC for our reception. We originally met Aaron at a bridal faire and were immediately impressed with his level of professionalism. He was not corny or over-the-top like other DJs we had met. My husband and I instantly connected with Aaron so we booked him just a few days following the bridal faire. It also helped that Aaron was half filipino/half puerto rican so we knew he’d be familiar with our mixed crowd.
At our wedding, Aaron did not disappoint! He arrived on time and was well-prepared. Aaron had the perfect level of interactiveness with our crowd and handled all the announcements professionally. We made a few adjustments to the reception schedule, which Aaron handled with ease. He did a great job and kept the crowd dancing the entire night, which was no easy feat considering the diversity of our crowd and the wide range of ages represented. Overall, we could not be happier with Aaron’s services and he definitely made the night a great time for all. I would highly recommend DJ Aaron D. of Amos Productions.
Additionally, I was very pleased with the office staff at Amos Productions. I had a couple of updates and changes to our contract, which Marissa (one of the office managers) handled quickly with no problems. The office staff is friendly and responsive.

I purchased both my dress and veil at Dori Anne Veils for a great deal! We also ordered the BM dresses here and my step-mom purchased her dress for the wedding here. The BM dresses arrived on time and were beautiful! Debra, the owner of the shop, operates a small operation from her home in Castro Valley. Her shop is small, but cute and she has a good variety of sample dresses, veils, and bridal accessories. She is able to give brides great deals because her operating overhead is low. Debra is very prompt to return phone calls and emails. Her shop operates on an appointment only basis, but I never had trouble getting the time that I desired. Purchasing my gown and BM dresses at Dori Anne Veils was a stress-free, no hassle process and we saved money going through Debra versus a fancy pants salon. I would highly recommend Dori Anne Veils for its great deals on beautiful dresses, promptness, and overall great service from Debra!

Stanford Memorial Church is gorgeous! The church is amazingly beautiful. I graduated from Stanford and I have to admit as a student, the church feels like an old hat because you see it everyday. That said, I don’t believe that there is any church like it in the bay area. Saint Ignatius and Basilica of St. Joseph come close, but sorry its no MemChu to me! The mosiac tiles, the stained glass windows, and the intricate detailing are so incredible. Our guests greatly enjoyed the church and it was an especially nice treat for all our relatives who came from out of town. Mary the coordinator is a very kind lady and extremely professional. Father Carl, one of the priests of the catholic community, was wonderful. He was one of the nicest priests and easy going priests that I have met. One tip, if you get married here—be sure to pay attention carefully at the rehearsal. The ceremony can be a little complicated to remember, especially when you are anxious and excited the day before your wedding. Make sure at least one of you is paying close attention! We were so happy for the opportunity to be married here and highly recommend it to everyone who is able to marry at Stanford Memorial Church.
Jen is incredible! I kept telling her that I felt like she was an angel sent from heaven to do our wedding stationary. Jen is responsive to emails, timely, reliable, open to feedback, extremely creative and most importantly one of the nicest people that I have met. All of our wedding stationary including our invites, escort cards & envelopes, placecards, programs, and wedding monogram were custom made by Jen. One of the things that we appreciated about Jen (among many) is that she partnered with us on the creative process. She listened to our feedback, incorporated our changes, and was very flexible with all of our requests. Jen never turned down any request from us (big or small) and she was very patient with all of our re-designs/updates/guest list additions! She is knowledgeable about different stationary options including paper, ribbon, adhesive, etc. Jen was able to take our concepts/ideas and translate them into the most beautiful wedding stationary set that I have ever seen! (OK, maybe I’m biased) The quality of her work is impeccable and she has a great attention to detail—Jen made 100 invites, 150+ programs, 165+ placecards, and 100+ escort cards with envelopes for us without a single mistake! (And if you know how meticulous and detailed we are—then you know that we quality checked everything.) I would give Jen, my highest recommendation without reservation for quality of product, professionalism, and overall positive attitude. Thanks Jen!
The flowers for our wedding were AMAZING! Lush, fresh, beautifully arranged, perfect colors, and perfect shape. I loved everything about the flowers at our wedding: my bouquet, the bridal party flowers, centerpieces, cocktail pieces, flowers on the door to the reception, wheat grass escort card display…everything look straight out of a wedding magazine! When Brenda delivered my personal flowers in the morning, I could hardly wait for my make-up to be completed so that I could admire my bouquet. Later that day, I recall the moment that our event coordinator gave my husband & I a sneak peak of the dining room — I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs because the centerpieces were so beautiful and surpassed my greatest expectations.
Brenda and her staff did an incredible job with the set-up and everything was delivered on time. She is amazingly talented and was able to translate my vision into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. We received many, many compliments on the flowers for our wedding — even my coworkers, who did not attend the wedding and only saw pictures, asked for Brenda’s business information! In fact, if anyone were to tell me that my flowers were not among the most incredible flowers in the whole entire universe of wedding flowers, I would not believe them.
Prior to the wedding, I met with Brenda to discuss the wedding florals. I shared with her my overall vision - lush, romantic, round, pink, and green - and she gave me many great ideas/suggestions. She even taught me that my colors were not pink and green—but chartreuse and pink (who knew!). Brenda was always prompt to return emails and had a quick turnaround on updates to the contract. I also appreciated her attention to detail and her willingness to go out of her way to provide excellent service. Equally impressive about Brenda was her professionalism, positive attitude, and overall genuine, kind personality.
In sum, I would give Brenda Mira my absolute highest recommendation for her floral services. I would even go as far to say that you would be silly to NOT hire her for your wedding. Her artistic talent, professionalism, and flexibility are unmatched! Brenda — you’re #1!
Brenda also acted as my Day-Of-Coordinator—everything at the reception moved smoothly and we even were ahead of schedule! She and her assistants went out of their way to ensure that myself and my guests were pleased and had everything that we needed. Quite a few of our guests commented on how wonderful and gracious the Kuga Designs team was. Prior to the wedding, I gave Brenda a list of items to check and ensure were correctly arranged/accounted for. All of the details and instructions were followed perfectly! Brenda kept the day running smoothly, coordinated well with the other vendors, and made the day completely stress free for both my husband and myself. In preparation for the wedding, Brenda took the time to meet with me to go over the details, take notes, and provide feedback. I highly recommend Brenda for her DOC services.
