WOW!

We had a fantastic wedding because of Son Mayor. Our dance floor was packed (and I mean PACKED) all night. Our guests were telling us "this is the best wedding reception I've ever been to." We scoured the internet and asked several family members, friends, and friends of friends for recommendations on a band. We ended up hiring Son Mayor after hearing about them on the knot and on different websites. as the entertainment was at the top of our list as far as "most important" factors for our wedding day. The band played at Jennifer Lopez and Chris Judd's wedding. My husband and I met salsa dancing and we wanted to have a latin band at our wedding- but a great band.

Son Mayor charged $3700 for their services- they were an 11 piece band and they played 3 sets of 45 minutes. Had we not needed to end our reception on time, we would have paid them to continue for another set, as our guests did not want to stop dancing!

Overall, the band was fantastic. I would hire them again in a second! Their band leader, Juliana, was a delight! She was a little difficult to get a hold of at times, but super easy to work with and very friendly.

Our cake was included in our package at South Hills Country Club. We had the option to go elsewhere for a cake, but I could not pass up a free cake!

The owner's name is Donna. Donna was quite terse and cranky over the phone. My husband, mother and I went for our tasting, and I was not at all impressed with her store. It consisted of a fridge, table, small display of some cakes, and a counter. It did not seem well maintained. When I met Donna in person, she was friendly, but super rushed. We were worried because several customers came prior to our tasting and arrived to pick up their cake, but were not happy with the product.

Fortunately.....the cake was DELICIOUS. The delivery of the cake was right on time- no difficulties or problems there. I had mailed Donna a photo of a cake that I found on a blog. I was so pleased when I saw my cake because it was exactly like the photo! Just beautiful. I give 4 stars for the quality of the cake and the overall final product.

Price wise, I was super pleased with Chiavari Chair Rentals. I shopped around and compared, and found the best deal- $6 per chair (which included chair + cushion) via this company. I asked how we could save,and they offered to waive the $100 delivery fee if we paid in full up front, which we happily did.

I dealt via email with Steven Sun, who was very helpful. I tried calling several times, and it is very difficult to get a hold of anyone. I was interested in possibly renting organza for the chairs or a topper for the tables, but I wanted to go to the warehouse and see these items in person. Coordinating a time/date that someone would be available in the warehouse was quite difficult, as the employees are out on the weekends working events.

Overall, my experience was super positive. Everything went well with the delivery and pick up.

My experience with South Hills country club was very positive. I mainly worked with Catering Manager, Candice Allen. Candice was very prompt in responding to my frequent emails. She was very professional in providing me with recommendations and suggestions for my reception. Alex Godinez was another manager that we worked with; he was polite, but I felt more comfortable dealing with Candice.

There are three packages that South Hills offers. We went with the most inclusive of the three- the premier package- the premier package included valet parking, which we did not end up receiving on the day of the wedding. I still have yet to determine what occured, as that was clearly stated in the brochure as being a component of the premier package. When we returned from our honeymoon we received a final bill totaling almost $400 (even though we were paid in full prior to the day of the wedding)- it took us several phone calls to resolve this, however my husband finally ended up speaking with Candice and she cleared our balance to $0.

Overall, my experience with South Hills was fantastic. This is a respectable and well maintained facility. The staff was pleasant to work with. I would most definitely recommend this venue to a bride who is seeking a venue that is all-inclusive per se (tables, chairs, linens, food, drink). The food was delicious- great presentation and large portions

My husband and I were SO pleased with Anne's services. I cannot explain how glad I was that I hired her as our DOC and the value was incredible.

I met with Ann a total of 3 times prior to my wedding. She was available via phone and email- she would respond to my emails within the hour to 4 days. Which was fine, considering that I hired her as my DOC, not an actual wedding planner.

Ann attended the rehearsal at the church in order to acclamate herself with the order of events for the ceremony. On the actual wedding day, she came to my home early to review some things and pick up items that needed to go to the reception site. (even though she attended a concert the night before she was there at our scheduled time!) Ann helped with SO many things the day of- from setting up our tables for the reception, managing the CD music during the band's breaks, placing "goodbye/thank you"car tags at each vehicle and ensuring that the timeline was flowing as scheduled. At the end of the night, Ann packaged up everything for me (the frames at each table, the votive candles, our toasting flutes, etc etc etc....everything that I would have forgotten myself.)

I am so pleased with Ann! I am still trying to think of a way to thank her for everything!! She really helped to make my wedding day well organized and just so amazing!

I was so very impressed with Sherry. She is such a pro at what she does! Sherry knew that I was going to take bodoir photos for my husband, so she suggested that I plan my preview appointment with her the same day as my bodoiur session, so I could have gorgeous hair and make-up for the photos! I so appreciated this.

My hair and make-up turned out amazing, both for the bodouir pics and my wedding day. Sherry was pleasant to work with. She took her time and made sure that I was completely happy with the look she created for me. I would recommend her to any bride!
