Ed was brilliant! Our flowers were magnificent and he worked with all of my crazy requests (bouquets made from vegetables, not flowers, etc). He was great about giving his opinion which we appreciated because he has fantastic taste. I also loved that he only takes 1 wedding per day – it assured us that we wouldn’t be passed by for a bigger job. Plus, he gave us options depending on our budget, which was great. People couldn’t get over his work!

We originally booked Rod of Lee Video Productions to be our videographer, but when we found horrible reviews online for him as well as on the Better Business Bureau, we decided we wanted to cancel our contract. Apparently, he hadn't been providing videos after the wedding was over. We contacted him and he said he understood and would refund our deposit back. That was 2 years ago and we're still fighting with him. He changes his phone number frequently and moves around a lot. He's a complete scam artist and he is still trying to get clients. Do NOT use him!!!!

We had our rehearsal dinner at La Tasca Tapas. They were very nice to work with and had great options and very nice private rooms. My issue came into play with their service the evening of the dinner. They moved VERY slow with bringing out the dishes and everyone was very hungry. We were told that we could control how quickly things would come out of the kitchen but that was very far from the truth. When we asked the servers about speeding it up, their response is that the restaurant is busy and the kitchen is trying. At the end of the evening, they were so slow that our guests didn’t get seconds of dishes (which for unlimited tapas should be a given) and a lot of people (myself included) didn’t even get dessert because it was served so late. The food was very good but the service made me very upset and added stress to an already stressful day.

Kate did a wonderful job on all our jewelry for the wedding. She made custom necklaces and earrings for each girl. Every piece was a little different but they all followed the same concept so they looked like a set. Kate worked really hard in creating jewelry that was something the girls can definitely wear again and she was fantastic with working with my requirements (cost, different pieces for each girl, etc). All the girls LOVED their gift!

Pia was the celebrant of our ceremony. She was really great to work with and we loved the ceremony she put together for us. It was SO personal and included stories from our friends and family. It was great to find someone who really added so many special touches to our ceremony and had it represent us and the way we felt about each other. She was very easy to work with and allowed us to help edit the entire ceremony. She was great!

We used M and M for our chairs and lighting. They did a nice job the day of but they were not good about communicating with us. They never returned emails or phone calls and we always had to follow up with them. The day before the wedding, they had to ask us how we wanted the lighting set up when we had already gone over that a bunch of times with our representative. The lighting and chairs looked nice but they weren’t the easiest to work with.

The Renaissance was great to work with for our hotel block. Everyone was able to get our group rate or a cheaper rate and they don’t charge attrition which was a huge plus! We dropped off gift baskets for all our guests and there was no charge and they were distributed correctly which was great! The rooms were a little small and they don’t have any great suites which was the only downside.

I would definitely not recommend O’Hare Limo. Although their pricing is cheap, they were our worst vendor overall. The shuttle bus for our passengers was EXTREMELY hot taking them to the reception. In addition, my husband missed our cocktail hour arguing with the driver about payment. We had arranged with the company to pay the limo driver for both the shuttle and limo but the shuttle driver was insisting he had to be paid himself or he wouldn’t drive our guests to the wedding! Not the way to start off the party. Then, when the reception was over, the driver not only got lost, but spent 30 minutes sitting at the hotel before making the next round. Our guests had to wait outside for over an hour to get back to the hotel! In addition, because the driver waited so long in between pick ups (he was instructed to do otherwise) we had to pay him overtime to finish picking up the guests or he said he would leave without them! We are arguing with them now to get that extra money back that we had to pay out the night of the wedding and they are denying it! Definitely wouldn’t recommend them at all!

Mary from Toast and Jam is just that – a total Jam! She is so much fun to be around and kept our floor packed all night. She doesn’t have an ounce of ‘corniness’ to her and stays focused on playing great music that suits the crowd. She interacts minimally (which we preferred) but still connected with all of our guests – she was GREAT!

Paul and Kerena did a great job as the musicians for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They are a husband/wife duo that plays the guitar and cello. They were so great to work with because we had some very specific requests for ALL of our music. We didn’t use anything traditional (even for the ceremony) and they were so accommodating. They went out and found all of the music and learned all of our songs. For some songs that they couldn’t find music for, they just listened to it over and over again so that they could just learn it themselves! They really went above and beyond in making our day personal.
