Ray did an amazing job capturing our wedding in Napa in June. I spent countless hours researching photographers, and it is clear from the work on Apertura's website that their work is in a different league than most wedding photographers out there. Ray is a true artist behind the camera and does a great job capturing emotions and composing images in a unique way. If you like their aesthetic approach, which really appealed to us when we came across their blog, you should definitely contact them before your date gets booked.

One thing that I really liked about Apertura's work was that we received so many "wow" images from our day. Most photographers will only have a few great images from the day and will showcase these on their blogs. Not with Apertura. We had 700+ photos, and most were worthy of getting blog status. I had looked at complete albums from other photographers, and no one came close to having such high quality throughout the album.

I think the best way to summarize Ray from Apertura is that he's a photographer's photographer. In addition to the requisite of being technically sound, his work is very artistic and creative. He is a true professional and makes you feel confident that he knows exactly what he is doing when composing shots. Most importantly, he really loves his work (he was a former engineer and changed careers after he fell in love with photography). He attended our rehearsal (which wasn't required) to scope out our venue and to research how the light throughout the day/evening would affect our photos. It's clear when you work with him that he is always trying to push the envelope of his craft. Apertura certainly isn't the cheapest option out there. But if you place a high value on capturing great images from your big day and like their photo-journalistic approach, hiring Ray from Apertura will be one of the best decisions you make.
