Not especially friendly at first, but when there was a mistake on one of the tuxes (wrong tux) they fixed it right away! It was busy with Prom, and we came a day early for pick up as directed by the manager, but they were kind of rushed. The tuxes looked fine!

Very nice, professional and dependable. This was a recommendation from the reception vendor and the cost was appropriate for 50 chair covers and sashes!

Great food, fun casual atmosphere, good choices at a reasonable price and alcohol. The service was great, and the location fun/ beautiful- the Pacific Ocean. Very fun!

Because my daughter lives in the Valley in So Cal, we waited closer to the wedding (ordered 4/23/09 -wedding 5/16/09)to order the custom M&M's- white and ivory then added black plain M&M's. She kept them in the freezer so they wouldn't melt in the days before (and they were shipped with ice packs in a heavy-duty bag), but when we mixed them together to put them in favor bags, the smudged and the colors ran... kind of frustrating and I think that the M&M company should have sent some suggestions to keep this from happening. Would not mix the black in next time! (they were cute before the mess!)

We also found the photographer on a wedding website and looked over his website before deciding to meet with him. My daughter (Wedding May 16, 2009) met with him and arranged for engagement pictures. After signing a contract for 4 hours on the day of her wedding, engagement photo session, a sign-in frame for the reception and rights to all of the wedding photos, we noticed on his website that he was running a special for 8 hours, and a photo album (engagement and sign in) for only $200 more. So when I asked him if he would honor that price, Josh was more than agreeable. As far as the photos- her engagement photos (about 100) were beautiful. He met them at the Santa Monica pier (near their work)and the photos were available to her 2 days later. So far he's posted 125 preliminary photos (4 days after the wedding) and they are fabulous. We gave Josh a list of the "posed photos" that we absolutely wanted and he did the rest. He kept track of the list and did as we requested. He was a pleasure to work with.

This price included alterations, a flower girl dress, 2 veils and a gorgeous wedding dress. At the David's Bridal in Novi Michigan, my daughter was catered to from the minute we walked in the door- this was a fabulous experience. Since my daughter lives in California, she needed to have alterations done at the Northridge store. We also bought the flower girl dress. The sales people ignored us or pointed towards the dresses in a self-serve kind of atmosphere. We had an appointment and it was a weekday, so there was no excuse in my opinion to be unhelpful (especially in this economy!) In Novi, we just walked in! I would give the michigan store 5 stars, and the value for money spent 5 stars, but as far as service in Northridge- 1 star. The seamstress in Northridge had difficulty communicating and it was hard to come up with a 2nd fitting date - not too accommodating, but in the end, the alterations were good and the dress did look beautiful.

Debbie Fields was enthusiastic and had a beautiful vision that created exactly what my daughter- the bride, had expressed at the initial meeting in March. The centerpieces were classy, simple, elegant and went along with our white/ivory and black theme. She used flowers we loved- white gerber daisies with black centers. The bouquets were of the same theme and absolutely beautiful. The best part was the wedding arch- She covered a plain white wrought iron arch with draping and ribbons and beautiful cascading flowers. On top of all this, upon meeting Debbie (got her "name" from an wedding website) we had great confidence that she would work with us on our budget (only 50 guests), be professional and on time and treat us like we spent $5000. I would highly recommend her!
Marina del Rey, CA

Being 3000 miles away and planning a wedding for my daughter (she was nearby- but has a busy life helping take care of a "step daughter" and a demanding job) is difficult when you can only go by the reviews on Wedding Websites, and vendor websites. You have to go with your gut when you finally meet the vendors who are going to "make it happen". Hengameh, the catering director at Shanghai Red's in Marina Del Rey was totally accessible, patient and came through with a beautiful and delicious outcome. The back drop of the Marina was the type of setting that my daughter and her fiance were looking for, but the food and service went beyond our expectations! The wait staff, the banquet manager, the bartender were unbelievably helpful during the reception. The value for our dollar ($100 per person), was a huge plus. We had a sit down meal with beer, wine, premium alcohol, beef, swordfish, dessert, cappacino, hors d'oevres, the linens and a ceremony site that overlooked the marina. I couldn't have dreamed of anything better
With only 50 guests and a limited budget, Amy treated my daughter and her fiance and myself like we were spending 3 times as much! We had a scheduled tasting, the most beautiful understated and delicious 3 tier cake- one I could only imagine- from the pages of a magazine. The contract was drawn up quickly and Amy worked with our florist for the finishing touches. When I arrived at the venue, it was set up as promised. A mother living 3000 miles away couldn't ask for more...peace of mind, and perfect outcome. We planned my daughter's wedding via wedding websites and reviews so having a gut feeling out our initial meeting was key to the success (or failure) of the wedding. We are elated.

Susie was extremely professional, patient and talented. My daughter's wedding was planned via wedding websites and reviews like this... and we were so fortunate to find Susie. Even when my daughter, one week before the wedding "freaked" because she wasn't thrilled with the trial hair outcome (hair to short for the natural, beachy low bun that she had envisioned), Susie came through with a perfect hair style that exceeded her expectations. She did make up for the maids of honor, the MOB (me) and hair and makeup for the bride. and everything was natural and understated but with an elegant beautiful outcome. My daughter's step daughter- the flower girl, had appropriate "sparkles" and hair for an almost 4 year old. To say that I am happy with our choice of Susie is an understatement. The final cost included tips and 2 trial sessions-$600!All in all, great value!
