Aruba was gorgeous. Our hotel was lovely—intimate, small, quite—on one of the top 10 beaches in the world! We stayed in the Tara wing in one of the suites overlooking the ocean. Waking up to the beach every morning is my idea of heaven!

Our honeymoon consisted of sitting on the beach practically every day, enjoying the turquoise blue ocean water, snorkeling, watching pelicans dive into the ocean for fish, pina coladas and PBJ sandwiches for lunch, amazing seafood dinners. It was exactly what we needed. We can’t wait to go back!

Gordon is my aunt’s travel agent. He has been everywhere and when I told him what we were looking for—relatively short plane ride, quiet, gorgeous beach, good food—he said “Go to Aruba.”

My dad hired Red Apple for our day-of transportation. I didn’t get involved. He said they were fine to work with.

They get an 8 for the day of because my limo was the only one on time. Luckily, I padded the pickup times for the GMs and my jr BM so it wasn’t that big a deal but they were still late.

Nicole is a talented, wonderful designer. She was so great to work with.

Initially, I contacted Nicole to design my cake. She had designed her cake and my DH loved it. She came up with a gorgeous design that included our modern yet classic look, using our monogram and invitation as inspiration. I absolutely loved it and our guests couldn’t stop admiring it, either!
After the cake design, I loved what she came up with so much, I engaged her to do other elements of our wedding. Everything came out fantastic. The programs were gorgeous, the placecards were elegant, the bathroom basket sign was a last-minute addition that was perfect, too.
Everything was perfect. Hire her. Now.

I engaged her to create earrings and a bracelet for my jr BM. I drove her a little nuts in the beginning but finally got it together and the end result was simply lovely! Dangling pearl earrings and a lovely pearl “charm” bracelet… perfectly classic and elegant. They looked beautiful on my jr BM. I highly, highly recommend Periwinkle Designs!

My cousin gave me a purse from Sew Pretty. A one-woman operation, she is located in Nutley, NJ and also did bridal lines. I contacted her a few months prior to the wedding, bounced some ideas off her and hired her to create one-of-a-kind purses for my MOH and BM.

She came to my mom’s apartment about a month before the wedding and brought selections of buttons, colors and ribbons to choose from. I provided the material to her, using the left over material from my jr BM’s gown that was being shortened to tea length.

About 2 weeks before the wedding, I picked up the purses at a fair she was selling her stuff at. I thought the purses came out great but they weren’t what I was expecting in terms of size. They were very long and I thought the proportion of the size of the purse to the adornments didn’t look right. However, I did really like them—just needed some time to get used to them. What’s important is that my girls loved the purses and they looked great with their dresses.

I also had a card bag made for me which I loved. The seam ripped about mid-evening but we sewed it up and it was fine.

I wanted a really fantastic pearl bracelet… something large and impressive. I found it on this site. It was exactly what I wanted. It arrived quickly and was in excellent condition.

The selection at After Hours was fine. Hector chose a 3-button notch lapel TH tux. The guys went 2 days before the wedding and everything fit perfectly so they were able to take everything with them that evening. The guys looked great. No complaints with After Hours.

I found Niquay through Mia from Bridal Lounge. I was going to hire Mia but it turned out she was already booked and she recommended Niquay. Apparently, Niquay charges more than Mia but was willing to use Mia’s price structure.

I had a trial with her and I loved it. My makeup looked beautiful. She used airbrush makeup and it felt great. I hired her on the spot.
I had a couple of doubts in the months leading up to the wedding. We had worked out that I would send a certain amount of money each month (easier for me). When I hadn’t sent the first payment within the first week of September, I got a bunch of calls and emails about how I needed to send payment immediately. I was a little turned off by this… nowhere on the contract did it state that I had to send the payment in by a certain date. Eventually, it was worked out but in the end, I wasn’t too sure I made the right decision.

On the day of the wedding, Niquay arrived at NYBG 30 mins early (even before I got there!). Any doubts I had vanished. She was so nice to have around, lots of fun, put everyone at ease and, most of all, made my entire bridal party look GORGEOUS! I have no reservations recommending Niquay to anyone who is looking for airbrush makeup.

What a find! Stacy was, by far, one of my most favorite vendors!

I think I must’ve driven Stacy crazy! I went for about 5 trials in all. I just couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with my hair. Through it all, she was great! So great, I decided to start going to her for my regular haircuts!

I hired Stacy to do my hair, my mom’s hair and one of my BM’s hair. She arrived at my mom’s house 30 minutes early and quickly set my hair in rollers. We then took a limo to NYBG and she did everyone’s hair. Everyone looked beautiful. She did my hair first and it looked gorgeous! My mom’s hair and my BM’s hair came out great too. When my MOH arrived, she hated how her hair looked and while I was getting my makeup done, Stacy quickly altered it and she looked great.

It was great having Stacy around. She was a great support to have around that day and I’m so glad I found her.
