While David's Bridal has a large selection of gowns (both for brides and their bridesmaids) they don't offer a large selection of modest options. They had two gowns with sleeves. All others required some pretty costly alterations (around 250 for sleeves and temple-ready neckline - this did not include any fitting alterations or bustle attachments).
I found a gown I loved for several hundred dollars cheaper at Walker's Bridal in Provo. Though they didn't have it in my size, they were able to size down a larger gown for under $50. If you have enough time to order a dress (4-5 months), you may want to browse Eternity's online catalog and find a vendor who could order it for you. These gowns are stunning (they have all styles - simple and classic, trendy and modern, ornate and elegant) and are often far more modest in both cut and price.
It's certainly easy to purchase bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal. There are tons of options and everything comes in any color from their bridesmaid palette - from more evening-gown type dresses to simple tea-length solids, they have a lot of pretty styles. I found dresses I liked, but I had to buy little boleros to make them modest. I didn't buy the boleros from David's Bridal as the ones they offered were quite ugly. I bought plain white boleros on eBay for a far more reasonable price in a style that looked classy not frumpy. The bridesmaids will look nice, to be sure, but it's still frustrating to have such limited options for a modest wedding, even in Utah.
