My Son & DIL had their wedding at the Mansion, over the Labor Day Weekend. The mansion is beautiful, inside and out, and the staff helpfull.
The big drawback for using it is the time constraints, the weekend we had the wedding there was a Friday night wedding, Saturday morning wedding, our evening wedding, a Sunday Evening wedding along with a Monday morning wedding, That many weddings really put the time crunch on everyone. I suppose if you pick a weekend where you are the only or 1 of a few weddings it may give you more time. When we picked this venue, we were the only Saturday wedding, but things changed over time.
We were doing alot of DIY decorating, and we were not able to access the outside ceremony site until 4pm with a ceremony start of 6pm. And we could not acess the inside to decorate inside and get dressed until 4:30 so needless to say we were short on time for both decorating, and dressing. Even though we had a DOC and extra family to help, it was very rushed. Taking that into account if you choose the G.I.M. keep your decorating to a minimum, or have an army of help ready. With our evening time we did have to rent all the rooms, even though it was expensive doing that was really memorable and we had a wonderful time. The whole family felt like royalty sleeping there. We used the theater to show the Bride & Groom montage video. The expresso bar and pool table add to the fun events for all your guests to enjoy.(you do pay extra for the theater,& espresso bar.) The mansion is beautiful, the food was wonderful, everyone complimented on it, Service is efficient. This venue is not child friendly. It gave my son & dil the perfect venue for the formal wedding they wanted.
