It only took us one day to decide that Bear Flag Farms in Winters California was the perfect location for our daughter's upcoming wedding. It is a gorgeous organic farm that does about 12 events a year. Tina, the owner, is wedding planner extraordinaire. She may have missed her calling in life owning a farm but now she has the best of both worlds.
Our dilemma was in trying to make the whole wedding an experience for our family and guests, and not just a hotel stay and then a wedding/reception. It was hard to find the right fit for the Bear Flag Farms experience because it is so unique and special. The two closest cities are Davis (college town and no real hotel with that quaint feel) and Napa.
Trying to keep budget in mind, we tried every Napa hotel from Marriott to Embassy Suites to Travel Lodge. Then Tina met with a new "boutique" type hotel in downtown Napa called "AVIA." We have been working with them for the past week and they have been amazing. In just one week, we have a package deal, rooms are booking, they have developed a link for our bridal couples' website and are making the hotel stay a beautiful transition to BBF.
It was really important to the bride and groom that they had time before the wedding to spend with people and we had a "base camp" hotel.
Thanks to Tina, we now have the perfect marriage between the AVIA and Bear Flag Farms.
I'll continue to update as we go through the process. The wedding is next June!
