Magnolia Jazz did a fabulous job at our wedding in June 2007. We had already booked a DJ for dancing but wanted to have some fun live music during the meal. From the get-go, Robbie Schlosser was friendly and professional. And bonus, we got a discount for booking more than six months in advance. The band showed up early, took requests, and even stayed a bit late to accommodate us. And our guests absolutely loved the nostalgic, old school jazz sound of the band. We couldn't have been happier.
Jacklyn is incredibly talented and a true professional. We had a pretty elaborate floral and decor plan, and she really understood and embraced that. Her rates were more than fair, and she was always open to new ideas and revisions. Come the day of, we couldn't have been happier with how beautifully everything turned out. Our guests were floored by everything she had done. And our bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages were stunning. We'd highly recommend her!
Justin and Georgina, a husband and wife team, do beautiful, modern, yet classic work. They really have a way of avoiding that cheese factor that a lot of videos seem to have. Both of them have been a pleasure to work with, and, pending an excellent wedding video (we're now just waiting), we'd highly, highly recommend them. They have packages starting in the mid-$4000 range and incorporate Super 8 film footage into all their videos. Lastly, they shoot in HD!

Anna Kuperberg is a rare talent, a true artist. She photographed our engagement portraits and our wedding in June, 2007. At our engagement photo session, even though we were beyond nervous and inhibited to the point of stiffness, Anna captured some amazing photos, which she turned around within a matter of three weeks. In our interactions, she's always quick to respond. Then, came the wedding! Anna was beyond amazing. She was constantly moving and watching to get the best shots, and all our guests loved her bright and quick-witted, hilarious personality. I've never seen a vendor give so much of herself for our wedding. And the photos turned out better than we could have dreamed. We couldn't be happier.
For a photographer of her caliber, Anna offers some competitively-priced packages that include online hosting and wedding albums, though her rates fall into the higher price category. The best way to get a sense of her voice and aesthetic is to visit her website and her blog. I highly recommend her!
Twig and Fig does custom letterpress that is just mouthwateringly beautiful. The quality of paper, color, materials, and letterpress are unmatched! Suzie and Serge are a husband and wife team, and they're incredibly friendly and creative. They do all their letterpress by hand on-site in their Vine Street studio. Though they have exisiting designs that are just exquisite, they can work with any vision you have for your invites. We had them incorporate a jasmine motif and our logo, and our invitaiton suite turned out better than we could have ever dreamed! Warning: they are expensive, but you'll see why when you get the end product. Not only were the papers impeccably printed and painstakingly wrapped and labeled, but Suzie and Serge also included some little gifts just because . . .
For those who want the Twig and Fig experience but can't/won't get your invites through them, they have a cute little store on Vine Street in Berkeley that carries not only their stationery but also letterpress from other places and other really cute things. It's worth checking out!

Netbride really proved to be an excellent service! The people were very good at replying quickly, the prices were much more reasonable than those from other bridal stores, and our BM dresses came in way, way early! The technologically challenged may have a bit of trouble figuring out how to fill out and submit the form, but Netbride can also answer questions/take orders by phone!
The only downside: since you're looking online, you can't always be 100% sure of color, cut, etc. But if you ask early enough, you may even be able to get fabric samples sent to you.
Quite simply the best cake I've ever tried in my life. The service has been incredibly attentive and professional, the designs uparalleled, and the did I mention the taste? I nearly cried! They have gorgeous sugar flowers, and, for their reputation, their fees were surprisingly reasonable (starting at $9 per slice).

Our tasting experience was honestly terrible. The owner made us wait forever. We ended up there for over an hour and saw her for about 10 minutes. The cake samples were microwaved and thus some were gummy while others were dry. The presentation was a mess, and, after all that, the vendor forgot that she had even met with us! Needless to say, from this experience, we were not comfortable paying $16+ per slice. In her defense, after we chose to go with someone else, she sent us a gracious note of apology.
