My invitations turned out so-so. I must say that I did not have a good experience with the Write Invite and I would steer brides away from hiring them.

The most disappointing thing was that the addresses printed on the outside envelopes rubbed off in the mail. I know this because these guests (approximately 10 invitations including my officiant and my best friend) did not receive their invitations until 4 weeks before the wedding. When they did receive the invitations most of the address and some of the name was rubbed off. I was extremely disappointed! Clearly the Post Office was able to figure it out after about 9 weeks or so, but this is unacceptable from a wedding invitation company!

After the invitation incident I was dismayed and frustrated. I still wanted to include many additional paper products in the wedding including personalized table cards, escort cards, and about 10 other types of cards/signs. Thank heavens I cut my losses and hired someone else……Jocey Bella at JoceyBellaInvites. Jocey did an amazing job! If there was one mistake I made during this whole process it was not hiring Jocey Bella to do my wedding invitations! Advice to Brides: if you want your invitations to be more than ordinary (and actually arrive at the guests' houses) then hire someone who knows what they are doing (like Jocey)!

I am pleased that I chose the Surf and Sand for my ceremony and reception because of the views and locations. There is no location like it. The views are amazing and the guests were stunned by the sheer beauty of the ocean views.

That being said, I was slightly dismayed that one of the valet parkers was extremely rude (I don’t think he knew I was the bride)…..nonetheless, he seemed annoyed and I could only hope that he would have the day off on my wedding day.

About 2 months before my wedding the on site coordinator/catering manager left the hotel and was replaced. I could see this being an extremely difficult obstacle for most brides, but luckily I had hired Kerrie Underhill (Platinum Weddings by Kerrie) who took care of everything. 

The appetizers and main courses were delicious. However, the salad was very sub-par and my vegetarian dish was very oily and heavy (yuck!). The wait staff and bar staff insisted on carding everyone….including the best men who is 30 years old (and looks much older than 30)! Many guests were dismayed that they had to dig their wallets out and locate their ID’s in the middle of a toast (especially when nearly all of the guests were well above drinking age….aka those trying to obtain alcoholic beverages were well over 21). I understand the legal ramifications connected to ID checking but the S&S took it way over board……an incident which I believe hindered the good times of some guests. Very unfortunate. My brother (also a groomsmen) even had to run back to his hotel room to obtain his ID and ended up missing some of the reception. 

I believe that my wedding was incredibly amazing due to the fantastic vendors that I hired and the views that the S&S offered. I would recommend the S&S but advise brides to be aware of the incidents mentioned above. The S&S is a great site for your wedding event, but not much more. Be sure to hire great vendors and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Christine is incredibly talented! She really grasped my vision and made all of the arrangements and bouquets cohere to the look I wanted. I am very pleased with the Spiraled Stem and would recommend them to any bride.

Peter did an amazing job at our wedding! I was extremely impressed by his professionalism and great attitude. He is a fantastic DJ and I am so lucky that I hired Vive Entertainment for both my ceremony and reception.

I am so glad that I chose Peter instead of a band. I was able to hear every song by the original artist instead of having a “wedding singer” imitate the song; I believe that hearing the original songs really added to the party atmosphere (as confirmed by the guests!). Peter made sure that he played all of our favorites and alternated beautifully between slow songs and party songs. Not only was the music incredible, but Peter’s MC talents impressed everyone. He was smooth, great with words, and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

Heidelberg did an amazing job on our cake. It was exactly what we wanted; it looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. Many guests made a bee-line to the cake table to take pictures and admire what a beautiful job Heidelberg did. I would recommend Heidelberg in a heart beat.

I feel so lucky to have worked with Mahtab. She is incredible at what she does. On my wedding day my dress fit perfectly! I would recommend Mahtab to any bride.

Hiring Kerrie was the best wedding decision I made! My wedding was extra personal and extra special because of all of Kerrie’s great ideas and hard work. I can’t imagine my wedding day without her.

I am recommending Kerrie to all of my engaged friends and family. She is by far the best! In the beginning I interviewed over 7 other wedding coordinators and none of them held a light to Kerrie’s brilliance. She is truly someone who cares about you and your big day. She goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and happy. She is a great networker and knows all of the top vendors...I believe she can recommend someone great for any service.

I wanted my wedding day to be one of a kind and it surely was. The one comment that guests kept repeating after the wedding was, “that was the most amazingly beautiful wedding I have ever been too. I will never forget your wedding day”. I can’t believe how many guests went out of their way to call/email me to tell me that my wedding was the greatest they had ever been too. I must agree and say that my wonderful wedding was directly related to Kerrie and all of her support, hard work, and creativity. If you want to have a fabulous wedding with personal style that no one will ever forget (which also meets your budget) book Kerrie now; before everyone else does!

I am so lucky that Sarah was my wedding photographer. She did an amazing job, and I couldn’t imagine my day without her. Sarah also did my engagement photos several months before the wedding. They turned out beautiful! We even used some of them to decorate the cocktail hour area and received many compliments on how creative and amazing they were.

I would recommend Sarah a thousands times over. She is extremely talented and if you are lucky enough to have her available on your wedding day…..book her!

My initial experience was great. At my first appointment at Mariposa the staff was extremely flexible and helpful. My dress was actually the first one I tried on. The ordering and sizing process was easy and my dress arrived on time.

I must say that once my dress came in the manner in which the staff acted was disappointing. When I arrived to pick up my dress the girl on hand was rude and had no idea what she was doing. She finally located my dress after 15 minutes. Once she brought the dress out it was extremely wrinkled and looked awful. When I asked to try it on, the girl on hand seemed annoyed. She did a terrible job helping me put on the dress; in fact, it seemed that it might have been her first time putting anyone in a dress.

If you choose to visit Mariposa boutique make sure to make an appointment with the owner or manager. The rest of the girls are clueless and their lack of knowledge and experience is severely apparent.
