I am late in writing this review, but it was important to me to share this great find with other brides. Joe from Today's the Day was amazing- professional (the most on-top-of it vendor we had- and we had some very prepared vendors!) and has a great eye for imagery.
Video wasn't originally very important to me, but my husband wanted it. Needless to say, there wasn't a lot of room left in the budget. I was so lucky to find Today's the Day! We got a package that fit our needs perfectly- 1 videographer, 8 hours, and an edited "highlights reel". Basically, we got a professional videographer to capture the raw video of the day, and a 10 minute edited video that was the perfect length for our us and out friends and family (we didn't need an hour long video- which requires a lot more time for editing= more expensive than we could afford).
On the wedding day, Joe was pleasant and fun to work with, but we honestly rarely saw him- it is his gift to blend in to the party and not BECOME the center of attention- which we really appreciated.
Finally our wedding video came- and I was very impressed. The DVDs came with beautiful etched labels and nice individual cases. The editing was thoughtful and avoided trite music or images. I think he really captured who we were- and not a cookie cutter that matches every other couple. If you go to his blog, you can see that each couple's video has a totally different feel.
Anyway, on top of great work and a great attitude, he was responsive and helpful even after our contract was done- and that made him someone that I'll remember to review! :) I hope you look into Today's the Day for your wedding videography.

I contacted Auntie Em's Kitchen Catering because I live close to the restaurant and had heard some good things about their comfort food catering. When I called to get more information, the catering manager (who I believe was the owner/chef) was very put off that I did not immediately tell her my budget quote. I was very early on in planning and just trying to get an idea about what types of things (types of food and possible packages) they could provide. She spent the next 20 minutes of the conversation telling me that I probably couldn't afford her food and that I wasn't a "foodie" I probably just wanted to "party". It was rude and an not appropriate to talk to a person, let alone a potential client. Her quote was high, but she was within a budget that we could have afforded- but I wanted to get off the phone so fast and would never give this business my money. I contacted many caterers that we ended up not going with, but no company during the planning process left a worst impression than Auntie Em's. They may have good food, but I was totally turned off by her attitude and would not recommend her services.

I am not much of a cake person, but after I tried the black and white cake with bavarian cream and chocolate chips at our tasting I was craving that cake! Her ingredients are fresh, she has hand crafted recipes, and she's very knowledgeable about her craft and weddings in general. I was also so impressed by her portfolio and her designs. When she saw pictures of our venue, she offered to make the design more beautiful and complex for the same price because she felt as a designer she could give us something that matched the mood of our location. The cake came out stunning and looked immaculate for the pictures. We were so pleased to find Joeleen!

We were so lucky to find Carlos from Amaze Productions. He was personable without being overbearing or cheesy. He knew the right balance between entertaining people and finding out what his audience would appreciate. During the wedding reception I kept trying to get Carlos to go enjoy dinner, but instead he took the time to talk to our guests and greet them at the tables. The guests were surprised and impressed that he came to find out their requests instead of being aloof and making them come to him. The dance floor was packed throughout the night with our group of 20 somethings through to our older crowd- and everyone loved the music variety. I would also like to add that Carlos was also very on point and professional. He kept in touch with us and checked in during the planning process and kept in mind the little details that we cared about. We have recommended Carlos and his DJ services to our friends- Thank you for taking such care in your work, Carlos!
We loved the pictures and experience we had working with DrewB. She is very talented and captured pictures we will treasure forever. She is also one of the most professional vendors we worked with-- she got back to e-mails usually within a day and was very accommodating. You can tell she cares for her work and her clients- and it feels good to have someone that is connected to being such an important part of your day. I think she'll continue to book up early- so check her out!
