Sam House played the wrong first dance song and he played 50% of the songs on my "Do Not Play" list. When I repeatedly wrote him telling him about my dissatisfaction, he ignored my emails. Only after I threatened a lawsuit in my 3rd email did he give me a partial refund.
He seems like a friendly fellow, but I would NOT recommend him in a million years. He cannot be trusted to play the correct songs or to stay away from songs on your "Do Not Play" list.
The Flower Lab was by far the best vendor I hired - the most responsive, the most organized, and delivered the best product that was most in line with what I wanted. I am very thankful to have found the Flower Lab and would hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to absolutely anyone.
Also, their prices are amazing!!

I had my wedding for about 100 people here using the rose garden and marina vista room. The service at the wedding was excellent.
The Rose Garden is near a highway, but there is a 12+ foot hedge that obscures the view between the garden and the highway so that no one in the garden can see the highway. There is also a waterfall in the garden that drowns out the sound of any cars passing. If anything is too loud in the garden it is definitely the waterfall, so I definitely recommend using microphones for the wedding. The Rose Garden is really beautiful when it is all decorated. Be sure to budget for gazebo decorations because the gazebo really needs it.
The Rose Garden is also near the pool area (although there is a another hedge that separates the garden and the pool.) I didn't like how there were gawkers from the pool that peeked over the hedge and watched us getting married like we were animals in a zoo.
The waitstaff was prompt, friendly, and competent. When I was waiting to walk down the aisle, a waitress asked me if she could bring me water or anything (everyone at the hotel asked this all the time). The bartender was friendly and refused to accept tips from our guests. The food was mostly good (people complimented the prime rib and shellfish), although my mother thought the rolls were too hard. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat too much but I wish I had!! It all looked delicious!
They also gave us scones and tea for me and the bridesmaids to snack on while we were getting ready in our hotel room, and gave us complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room after we got married.
The concierge was great. We needed last minute directions to the rehearsal dinner and he quickly got them and made 10 copies for the best man to distribute to everyone. He helped with other directions, and in holding packages for us, etc. Gloria was especially friendly and had lollipops and balloon animals at the ready for any children passing by.
The planning process with the hotel was mostly smooth, although if I hadn't initiated the calls to discuss food and planning, I am not sure the on-site coordinator would have. So, I recommend staying on top of the planning yourself.
Bottom Line: I would recommend this venue to other people and I would host another event at this location myself. In fact, we are thinking about returning on our 1st anniversary and ordering all the food that we didn't get to eat at the reception!

Kris did my bridal makeup. She was talented, friendly (I now believe this is so important to have someone nice helping you get ready, you don't want to deal with unpleasant people moments before your wedding), responsive (answered phone calls and emails right away). She came on time and prepared. We didn't have to hunt down a makeup chair in our hotel because she brought her own. My makeup looked beautiful and photographed very well. She was a bit more expensive than I had wanted to pay (price I paid does not include parking or tip), but I am happy that she did my makeup and I am happy with the result. I would recommend her to anyone.
BEWARE! House of PAIN would be a better name for this business. They took my money but did not produce a dress.
I ordered the dress many months in advance and paid for it. They said it would be shipped in mid-sept for my Oct wedding. They said they would send me an email when it shipped, but they never did. When I called in mid-sept to ask where the dress was, they said it was shipped in mid-august and they didn't know where the dress was. They don't use UPS or FEDEX and the United States Post Office tracking number is completely useless, no one knows where the dress is. They were ambivalent, cold, and outright rude. They never offered to ship a replacement dress, or refund my money. Helen, the customer service person, was especially shrew-like and mean, interrupted me and suggested that I should "get on it" because my wedding was coming up in 10 days. They said they would launch an "investigation" to where the dress was but that it takes 30 days. Um, hello? My wedding is in 1 week.
BTW I called them at least 5 times before I got a hold of a living person. They don't answer the phones regularly or return phone calls regularly and the wait times on hold exceeded 45 minutes each time. They have been a NIGHTMARE! I have filed a complaint with my credit card company to try to get my money back.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE! Your wedding is too important to deal with shady vendors like this.
