Party City is a great resource for invitations. They have hundreds of gorgeous choices, and their prices are usually discounted about 20 percent from the normal retail price. You might be able to save a little more money making your own invitations, but buying the paper, printer ink and decorative accents adds up fast. We decided it was worth the extra money to have Party City do the printing for us.
The invitations came out beautifully and were a good value for the money; we received 150 invitations with colored ink, RSVP cards with return envelopes, tissue sheets, decorative cover sheets, lined inner envelopes and outer envelopes for about $400, and Party City had many lovely designs that were priced lower than that. I lost count of how many compliments we received on them.
I absolutely loved my flowers and would recommend Wegmans to anyone. A grocery store might be the first place you'd look for wedding flowers, but they did a fabulous job and were reasonably priced. I believe they only offer wedding services out of the Sheridan Drive Williamsville store, but the floral specialist there is wonderful. She had great ideas about color combinations, which flowers would hold up the best throughout the day, which flowers would smell the best together, you name it.
It was also comforting to know that, if a problem arose with one of our selections, Wegmans could have called another location and had additional flowers shipped in very little time.
I know Wegmans did an amazing job, because our photographer probably took 50 photos just of the flowers! The colors were bright and brilliant; the priest even talked about them during our ceremony. And ever since, I've lost count of how many people asked where we ordered the flowers. They were positively stunning.

If you prefer a band over a DJ, Live Wire is an excellent choice. They play a wide variety of music for all ages, and they're very entertaining. If you have a special request, they'll learn the song for you. A band is obviously more expensive than a DJ, but for a 6-piece band playing four hours, Live Wire seems reasonable.
We had a list of new songs and some that we wanted to hear the original artists. We put all of those songs on CDs and played them when the band took breaks.
Overall we were very happy and would hire them again!

I researched countless dresses online and already knew the dress I wanted when I visited Clara Milas. I ordered the dress through Clara Milas because the price was right and included some additional perks that other stores wouldn't offer. My dress arrived on time, and they did a wonderful job with the alterations. The shape of the dress required an uncoventional type of bustle, and it really came out beautifully.
Overall, I'm happy with my experience. However, a few times I had questions or had to get some information for my bridesmaids, and I'd have to make multiple phone calls before someone would call me back. The excuse was always "we were busy," which I resented. If you give someone your business, you deserve the courtesy of a timely return phone call.
I'd recommend Clara Milas because everything worked out, and we all had dresses that looked beautiful, which was the whole point. But if you work with this vendor, be prepared to do the majority of the follow-up.

I'd recommend Dessert Deli to anyone. The cake is tasty, and we were very impressed with the staff's decorative abilities - they can create a look for just about any style preference. The cake we wanted was actually priced outside of our budget, and the staff agreed to reduce the diameter of each cake layer slightly - just enough to get the price down, but without compromising the look of the cake. We still had plenty of cake for our guests, and it looked and tasted wonderful!

I recommend Art Shot Photography to anyone without hesitation. We researched about 20 photographers in the Buffalo area and chose Art Shot because the packages were moderately priced and included more for our money. Most important, Art Shot seemed to do the best job of capturing emotions in every photo - not just snapping the same typical picture you could see in anybody's wedding album. I wanted the ability to look through my photos 20 years from now, and have all the feelings from my wedding day jump off the page.
The photographer was fantastic. He spent about 14 hours with us (no time limit to his services) and even stopped by the church during our rehearsal to get a sense of the shots he could take. He accommodated every photo request we had and didn't miss a single moment of importance. There's no limit to the number of photos he takes either. My biggest problem has been sorting through the 1,700+ images and trying to pick the best 50-60 of them to put in an album!
