I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a nicer hotel. The experience was wonderful- even set up champagne and roses ahead of time, and at breakfast the next morning when we mentioned we had just gotten married the server brought us free mimosas… It might seem insignificant, but it was so thoughtful. It’s expensive, but the views, accommodation and service are worth every penny.

My wedding was wonderfully smooth, except for the tents. They only sent out two guys to set up for a massive ceremony and everything ran late because it took them so long to set up. If the tents aren’t set up properly or on time, think about it- it delays everything else. What a nightmare. It was slightly cheaper than the other major tent company in town, but not worth the stress.

Very casual-chic location that was the perfect ambience for our rehearsal dinner. They have tons of locally grown wine, which was fun for out of town guests and also a great selection of food so the more adventurous guests could try a little bit of New Mexican food, but the less adventurous ones were pleased as well with some of the other dishes that were more classic (with a twist of course). It’s a great location too, so guests could stroll around Old Town too.

A friend referred me to her, and I was hesitant until I saw her featured in Albuquerque the Magazine! Ashlynne is a true pro- she’s worked (maybe still works?) at MAC, and she’s done some high-profile work for movies filmed here. I’ve never felt prettier than I did that day- I’ll be eternally grateful for everything Ashlynne!
Beautiful New Mexican-style hotel without being overdone in the least. Everything about this property was perfect for our overnight guests. There are a couple of restaurants to choose from as well as a great upscale bar, and the hotel was close to our rehearsal dinner and Old Town so some guests didn’t even need rental cars.

The girl was so nice and even though I was having trouble articulating what exactly I wanted, she made lots of beautiful and tasteful recommendations that the final product ended up being better than I could have imagined. She also helped me stay within budget and made some really good money-saving suggestions.

Wonderfully prepared but very pricey. I should have done more research because I probably paid too much (which I found out after talking to other people I’ve met) but who cares… it was one day and it was great so at least it was worth it! Chef Jim White is something of a local celebrity so I guess you’re paying for his name too.

Most amazing cake ever, at a GREAT price! A friend tipped me off to Say It With Cake- it’s on the Westside, so a bit out of the way, but trust me it’s worth the drive. The cake was exactly what I wanted and they worked with me on budget. It was delicious and beautiful and I couldn’t ask for more.

I’d been eyeing a particular dress for quite some time that was out of my price range, and the sales associate was so wonderful. She informed me exactly when it would be going on sale, AND she told me to sign up to receive their e-mail alerts, so I was able to also buy bridesmaids dresses there, also on sale. Loved it!

Had a non-tradition bachelorette party at Ten Thousand Waves. It was great because it was exactly what everyone needed- perfect relaxation. I don’t know how it would work for larger bachelorette parties, but for the six of us it was pure bliss. Caution: it’s coed, and clothes are optional… And it’s never the attractive ones that are fully nude. If you can get past that though, it’s great!
