Our ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Basilica. I didn’t know it was possible to be any closer or more in love with David but Father Vince helped us understand the idea of becoming one. I truly feel that working with Father Vince taught us to appreciate the sanctity of our marriage. As a result we planned for more than just our wedding day, we planned for our future together.

The wedding favor is the very first thing that we completed for our wedding. I wanted to do something with pictures since we both loved to collect pictures of our friends. We gave little black gift boxes decorated with ribbon and filled with Hershey kisses that had labels on them (hugs and kisses from the new Mr. & Mrs.) and a set of coasters that had a picture of us. On the back of the coaster we attached a quote (In his perfect timing God sends us the one other soul who completes us)

Starz worked out pretty well for our wedding day. They were very professional, attentive and thorough. Our DJ kept everything on schedule and we didn’t really have to worry about anything since he kept an eye on everything. Our only complaint was how difficult it was to get a hold of our DJ before our wedding, possibly due to their new office location and computer program (?).

Azteca is where I found my wedding dress. I had tried the dress on and seen it at other bridal shops but Azteca provided the best service. I loved my wedding dress and recommend that brides spend a day at Azteca to find their dress, too.

Our wedding invitations were elegant and different which is exactly what we were looking for. Friends and family said they had never seen anything like them. Aura, owner and designer, was helpful in choosing fonts, colors and designs that would match our personality and budget.

We received so many compliments on our wedding cake, which was also made by Posh Nosh. In hopes of keeping up with everything, matching of course, Posh Nosh made a plain white cake, red velvet, with a creamy Bavarian filling. As for the design of our cake, I cut out various pictures of cakes that I liked, from some bridal magazines. Jesse and his staff designed our cake by putting some of our ideas together. We wanted a simple, yet elegant cake and that’s exactly what Posh Nosh put together for us.

At first my fiancé and I didn’t want to think about where we would have our wedding. We had a hard time finding the perfect place until we found the Boojum Tree. My fiancé and I wanted some place that would allow our guests to relax and have a good time. David and I fell in love with the Boojum Tree as soon as we saw it. My mom thought it was too rustic for my taste but I explained to her that it was perfect because it complimented both of us. It was definitely outdoorsy and rustic 'feel' that matched David (not at all like myself) but the candle lit decorations, fresh flowers and romantic feel was definitely me. The Boojum Tree was the perfect compromise for our reception and us!

How Appropriate Floral put our flowers together. After interviewing several florists we finally found How Appropriate Floral. I knew that we would choose Mary and her staff at How Appropriate because Mary was actually willing to listen to what we wanted for our wedding. She didn’t down play any of our ideas, instead she offered creative suggestions to help us plan a wedding that we could both afford and appreciate. Although price was an issue Mary kindly said to forget the price and tell her exactly what kind of flowers and décor I had envisioned for our wedding day. Working with Mary gave us complete freedom to add a creative flair to our centerpieces, bouquet, corsages and boutonnière’s

At the last minute, 3 months before our wedding, we changed caterers. We decided to try out a new caterer by the name of Posh Nosh. Jesse, the owner, customized our menu for us.
Our menu consisted of:
An appetizers arrangement to serve at the reception. An entree followed by a sorbet course and finally an Italian Gelato Bar with Six fantastic flavors of your choice served in elegant clear plastic gelato goblets, accompanied by a full array of toppings to “sweeten the deal”.
My fiancé was especially impressed when Jesse suggested that we serve a Sorbet Course (Lemon Sorbet) with our meal. It was an unexpected surprise for our guests and it gave our wedding a certain elegance, too.
The meal served at our wedding was a tasteful work of art.
Posh Nosh turned out to be a definite find!
