This was my favorite bridal salon that I visited while wedding dress shopping. The space is light and airy and the staff there are very friendly. All of the styles there went with my vision for what I wanted in a wedding gown...elegant, sleek, sexy but tasteful. You choose among the selection of styles and they custom make the dress to your measurements. All alterations are included in the price. They also have a great selection of accessories there. I purchased my veil, hair comb and earrings here. I thought this was a great value...beautiful, high quality dresses for reasonable prices.

This is a wonderful, classic San Francisco hotel to have a wedding reception. We had our cocktail hour in the Starlight Room (classy setting with stunning city views) with dinner and dancing in the Empire Ballroom. The food was catered by Scala's Bistro and was really really good (surprisingly good for hotel food). The cake (cupcake tower in our case) was included in the package price and was absolutely delicious. The package prices, especially the bar package prices, were fairly reasonable compared to other Union Square hotels. The only reason I gave it a B+ is because I was assigned a new coordinator 2 weeks before my wedding. It was difficult to transition to a new person because she wasn't there during the initial planning stages and a lot of my verbal agreements with the previous coordinator fell through. I brought in my own DOC and the hotel coordinator acted very territorial towards her. She insisted on taking over some of my DOC's set up responsibilities and ended up messing up and seating people at the wrong tables. Overall I would still recommend the hotel for a wedding reception.
Christine Nakatani of Briar Rose is extremely talented and dedicated to capturing and executing the bride's vision. When I first met with her we had a meeting to discuss what I had in mind. She listened to ideas and provided good suggestions as well. We had subsequent meetings where she showed me a trial for the centerpieces and made sure it was what I wanted. She is very open to changes, even up until the last minute and will work within your budget. The flower arragements and the bouquets were more beautiful than I imagined.
HyStudio produced absolutely amazing photos for my engagement session, wedding and day-after photo session. Hy is very talented and through his photos he is able to tell a story and capture raw emotion. Frank, the assistant photographer, has a great eye as well. I had tons of fun working with the both of them. Annie, who handles customer service, is extremely helpful and very responsive over email. She was also great to work with. I highly recommend booking HyStudio!!! They were my favorite vendor to work with.
