I have decided to do my own makeup for the wedding. I went to the Clinique counter at Macy's for some tips, and they were really teriffic! They walked me through some excellent techniques, and I bought some makeup so I could experiment at home. I have seen it go really wrong having a makeup artist. If you are confident in your own abilities or those of a family member or friend, save your money! You can do plenty of trial runs and see how things translate on film, at no more cost than that of the actual makeup.

We ordered our save the date postcards from snapfish using a design we created to set the tone for our invitations, and then our theme. the quality was excellent, and they were relatively environmentally friendly and cheap. we spent less than $1 per card.
I bought my wedding invitations at Michael's. Surprisingly they went perfectly with my theme and were just the best alternative for us to expensive printed invitations. We were able to print them all ourselves using a relatively unsophisticated printer and they came out very nice! best of all they were <$2 per person! they are from the Bride Magazine collection I think. Gorgeous, unique result!

Abby Rose Photo will make your wedding photos look like a magazine editorial. She is everything that traditional wedding photographers are not: candid while they are posed, fresh where they are stale. she's really great and will put you at ease!
I guess for this one it depends who you buy the item from, whether or not they are honest, etc. But I had a great experience buying a genuine vintage Phyllis marked necklace from this site. It arrived in the condition it was described as and coordinated beautifully with my other attire. I would definitely recommend this site if you are on a budget. This jewelry could have easily cost over $100, so I know I got a great deal and got something truly unique instead of something that every other bride will be wearing.

I bought my birdcage veil here. It is gorgeous and well-made, I wouldn't change a thing. I wanted something a little untraditional for my veil and this was the place! They had a wide array of both traditional styles as well as more daring ones. The prices were great, the customer service was amazing (don't see that often in rochester!) and i could not be happier with this veil.

I am thinking of getting my wedding cake from Zingerman's. They have excellent customer service and they come highly recommended by a friend. My only qualm is the price (again, I am on a shoestring budget). However their cakes are not only gorgeous, but tasty. I think the best option for me is to get a pretty cake from them, downsized, to cut, and then have sheet cake on the side. If you aren't suffering from the economic downturn you might do something more. Support local business as much as you can!

I bought my fiance's wedding band from Turtle Love Committee, an environmentally friendly and socially responsible jeweler. If you don't mind going untraditional (and cheap!) they have some great styles in both men's and women's engagement and wedding bands, or everyday jewelry! they have the best customer service too.

Your Event Party Rental quoted me this price for a 21x21 foot dance floor rental, which I guess is somewhat reasonable. However, I do think that given the current economic climate and the fact that the dance floor rental is not absolutely necessary, I won't be using them. Their customer service in giving me the quote was friendly and helpful and it is a decent price if a dance floor is truly needed.
