We bought our wedding bands from Tany's at Northland Village Mall. They had a separate case that held the rings that were on sale so it was easy to choose something and be reasonably sure that it was within our price range. The rings that were on sale were absolutely beautiful, so definitely not the bottom of the barrel.
They also had a wide selection of styles to choose from.
The woman that was working did a good job of helping us find something we would be happy with. She listened to what we had in mind and brought out numerous rings for us to try on. She also looked at my engagement ring, which is a family heirloom, and amazingly found a wedding band that matches it almost exactly!
She didn't try to upsell us or pressure us in any way either. It was a very comfortable atmosphere, unlike some of the other big chain jewellery stores. All in all, we were very happy with our experience and our purchases.

Oyster Bay Flowers & Such offers several wedding packages & reception options. We went with the gorgeous blue orchid package, that included a bride's bouquet, a bouquet to toss, 3 bridesmaides bouquets, a flower girl bouquet, 5 boutonnieres, and 6 vases to display the bouquets in during the reception. All of this cost $500! When compared with other florists this is a steal of a deal!
The reception options were a pretty decent deal as well. The zoo, where we had our reception, offered to do the centerpieces for us at $25/ table and we weren't even going to be allowed to take the flowers, vases, or candles home. The SAME centerpieces being offered at Oyster Bay cost $12/ table AND we got to keep them!

I bought this 50s style, strapless, satin dress for my maid of honor and she loved it. She said she'll wear it again and thinks it's gorgeous.
The dress is the best bargain that I've come across. You can't beat the price and it comes in several different colors. Included with the dress are a matching satin scarf and spagetti straps that can be attached. It also ships quickly.
Below is the link to the dress. Several other styles are also available through Amazon.

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous and overall we had a good time. We only spent our first night here before heading off on our honeymoon. It was a good experience to have however I don't think I would spend that kind of money to spend more than one night.
The room was comfortable and mostly clean but it really wasn't all that different than the rooms in hotels that are half the price. In fact much cheaper rooms have been cleaner. I'm pretty sure our room at the Banff Springs hadn't been totally turned over for our stay. I think they just left the towels & glasses that appeared to have not been used by previous guests. The hair that greeted me on my facecloth grossed me out. And there was dust on some of the glasses.
Also, for the price we paid I would have expected a few more ammenties and/ or discounts for in-house services. Other than the room and access to the pool & fitness area, everything had an additional hefty price attached to it. Also, most of the "cool" features that attract one to stay at the hotel, are open to the public for free. (So why pay to stay there then?)
Parking was $22/ day, to park yourself in a parkade a block away. Or it was $29/ day to have the valet park it for you. Room service was $$$$, plus it had an %18 gratuity already added on to the bill (though they don't tell you that unless you read the fine print of the menu). Bathrobes (so that you don't have to walk WAY across the hotel in just your bathing suit to the pool) were $160!!!
Dinner in the hotel for just the 2 of us cost $150, which included a 3 course meal and 2 drinks. Price aside, it was a verrrrrry good meal.
My advice: Stay only for one night for the novelty of it. Or just stay at a hotel in Banff and crash the Banff Springs and use its facilities since it's open to the general public anyway.
We got tons of wired, cloth ribbon, garland, and feather decorations that were perfect for my peacock themed wedding. Most of the decorations were sold as "Christmas" decorations but we chose items that didn't look Christmas-sy. The bonus was that we got them super cheap when we bought them after Christmas when all of the items were put on sale for 75% off.

This registry website is so useful and such a fantastic idea. Rather than register at one particular shop, where you may not like all of their items, on this website you can add any item from any store that has a website. This way you can pick a variety of items that you may want and need (which is much better and more practical for a couple that has been living together for quite awhile). This means you can also add untraditional items as well, like gift certificates for restaurants or Blockbuster (for that couple that has a lot of "stuff" already).
I bought 5 bolts of 60inch by 30 feet blue organza material to make my own table overlays, as well as 1 bolt of 54 inch by 120 feet white tulle for decorations. The material was the quality that one would find at a fabric outlet but at a fraction of the cost. Shipping was free and it came in a timely fashion. It also looked exactly as pictured on ebay.

This ebay bridal shop was perfect for my needs. The woman who runs the store was incredibly helpful and easily to work with. She custom made 3 sets of gorgeous hair pieces for my bridesmaides. Based on the theme of my wedding (and my requests) she suggested other items that I might like. She also hand made a guest book set (feather pen and all) tailored to my wedding them that was absolutely stunning and well worth the price.

After visiting a number of bridal boutiques I was disheartened and feeling miserable about the snobby service, unreasonably high prices, and limited dress sizes to try on. Then I went to Blissful Bridal. What a breath of fresh air. They were fantastic and made the experience what it should be... comfortable, exciting, and about what the bride wants.
Calinda, the woman that helped me, was obviously overworked as she was only one of two employees there at the time, but you would never know it from her attitude and level of attentativenss. She let me pick out several dresses and then picked out several more based on her observations of my likes as suggestions. She stayed within my price range and never tried to upsell. She also gave very frank feedback and steered me towards the perfect dress for my body type, tastes, and price range. She also took into consideration the type of wedding that I was planning and asked a number of questions about me & my fiance.
The store itself was very clean, neat, and inviting, unlike some stores that look more like showrooms or ones that are overcrowded. Blissful Bridal has a wide range of styles in every price range and in just about every size. They also recommended a brillant seamstress to do the alterations for me.
Overall, I was very pleased with the shop and the staff and will be returning there to get bridesmaid dresses.
