Our video was so great, it was worth the wait. It took significantly longer than the target date in our contract and I was getting frustrated (mainly because we did have to keep reaching out to get updates from Isabel, rather than her being proactive about contacting us). Having said all of that, it was absolutely worth the wait. When my husband and I watched it the first time, we couldn't hold each other close enough. Isabel captured moments that we had either forgotten about or didn't know had happened in the first place. Her work is really beautiful, especially having just seen a wedding video that was shot by a sort of experienced person as a point of reference. Even the DVD holder is stunning! Isabel was great the day of and we barely noticed her. I am SO glad that we decided to get a videographer and added in the raw footage of the ceremony and toasts at the end. It was really worth the money--my Mom said it made her wish she'd had a videographer from her marriage to my stepfather 6 years ago and one of her best friends said it was so gorgeous that she's watched it more times already than my husband and I have! Thanks, Isabel, so much.

OK, so I've been just a liiitle slow in posting this, seeing as how I got married in November 2009, but Cafe Santorini/Rocco Room was AWESOME!! Having good food (read: no rubber chicken) and an open bar were our two main priorities in terms of our reception and this fit the bill perfectly. With no site fee once we hit a certain amount, it also enabled us to have a Saturday night reception, which we also really wanted (some other venues we looked at had fees just to use the space of $5,000+). All the food was excellent and we got sooo many compliments on it. The staff was all a joy to work with from Keith before the wedding to all the day-of staff. Friends said to us after that our wedding was so great, it made them want to get married again. The venue is gorgeous, which also helped keep decor costs down. I really appreciated that they were open to doing things like making the vegetarian dish without butter for a couple of our vegan friends and serving the awesome mousse as the dessert. My only regret is that we can't do it again!!

Betsy is absolutely fabulous! She was a joy to work with. I found her on Project Wedding and liked that she emphasizes just making you look as good as possible, but still like yourself. That was important to me (and my Mom, too!).

My trial was great, so I booked her for me and my sister (my other bridesmaids weren't sure if they'd be able to afford to have their hair/makeup done). She easily incorporated the small changes I wanted after the trial and looking further at the pictures. My sister was also thrilled with her hair and make-up and understood why I'd insisted on going out for drinks after my trial--we both felt so glamorous! Betsy was calm and fun and easily produced clear nail polish, even for one of the other girls who was doing her own hair and make-up.

I can't recommend Betsy highly enough. If I have another fancy occasion in my life warranting hair and make-up to be done professionally, I will definitely be going back to her.

I bought my dress here in November 2008, a full year before my wedding. Part of why I bought it so early was because there was a floor model that was fantastic, which meant it was 50% off. Being a floor model that had been tried on lots, there was some minor damage (missing beads, a small tear in the lace). The saleswoman I was working with told me that these things would be at no charge and that they would clean the dress at no charge.

I was so pleased with my dress buying experience that I recommended Alfred Angelo to a girlfriend of mine. She also bought a floor model 50% off, but then encountered challenges when it came time for her fitting--an extremely long wait, despite having an appointment, and not having the store's commitment to making fixes honored. As a result of this, she did not have her alterations done at Alfred Angelo.

Based on her experience, when I scheduled my appointment almost a month ago, I confirmed that these fixes would be made at no charge, as well as the cleaning. I spoke to Michelle, who put me on hold and came back on the line to say that she had checked with the seamstress and/or manager (I'm not sure who) and they would do this at no charge.

Fast forward to today, my first fitting. The seamstress tells me that they don't do these things free of charge, at which point I ask to speak to a manager. After 10-15 minutes, Tiffany can FINALLY be bothered to come speak to me. Her first question is who I worked with and if I had the receipt. I had not brought the receipt with me and did not remember the sales lady I worked with almost a year ago. When I asked if she could look me up in the system, she obliges. After finally finding me, she returns to say that there was a note in the system about making the fixes, so they will do those. I asked about the cleaning and Tiffany says that she can't do that because there was no note in the system. When I asked about them honoring their commitment to me, she basically said that I should have gotten this in writing and that the woman who sold me the dress is no longer with them.

Should I have gotten this in writing? Absolutely. However, as I stated to Tiffany, I certainly feel that Alfred Angelo has screwed me for not getting this in writing when I wasn't really thinking about that the day I bought my dress and was, naturally, very excited and in the moment.

I let Tiffany know that I was extremely disappointed and angry and that because of this, like my girlfriend, I would not be having my alterations done there. I cannot in good conscience give more money to a corporation with this business model, particularly knowing that this is a systemic problem and not a one time incident. I will be warning all of my friends and family NOT to shop at Alfred Angelo.
