We had a hard time finding a DJ. We are both Venezuelan, and we wanted someone who was Venezuelan and would have the music we like to hear at weddings. We also wanted someone who was professional and knew what they were doing, and was also bilingual and could do a good job at MCing. Of course, we also didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. When our first DJ fell through, my cousin recommended Javier. We didn't have very high expectations before we met him; we just though he was a friend of hers. Well he blew us away with his professionalism. He had almost every song on our must-play list, and he promised us that if there was any song he didn't have, he would get it. We only met with him for the first time 3 days before the wedding too. He brought all of his own equipment, lights and everything. His setup looked very professional, and he even wore a very fancy suit. He played everything we asked him to and nothing we asked him not to. He is great at reading a crowd and playing music according to what the crowd is feeling. He kept everyone dancing all night. At the end of the party, no one wanted to leave! He also did a fantastic job MCing. So many of our guests have commented on how fabulous our DJ was. I highly recommend him, and no, not just for Venezuelan couples. He can throw a great party for anyone!

We didn't have the greatest experience with the Doral location from the very beginning. The problem was that the quotes we were getting for the cake we wanted were just way too high, and we couldn't justify the cost but no one was willing to try to come up with something that we liked and could afford. The staff at the Doral location was just rude. From the first time I walked in, everyone who helped us had an attitude. Edda's was basically our only choice because Ana Paz was even more expensive and we didn't like the flavors as much, and the two of us grew up eating Edda's cakes for every special occasion. We ended up going to the Pembroke Pines location and they were extremely nice and courteous, and we got a pretty good quote from them. However, my wife had emailed a picture of the cake we wanted to the manager at Doral and ended up getting a quote that was significantly lower than any other quote we got, so we decided to go with them. When we went in to order, the same exact lady who gave us the quote via email quoted us almost $4 more per person. We had a feeling it was too good to be true so my wife brought along a printed version of the emails they had exchanged previously. She admitted that she had quoted that, but then she claimed that she hadn't opened the attachment correctly, or some other BS excuse, and she couldn't see the cake correctly. We said that was too bad but we had sent her the picture in high-resolution and she could see every single detail in the cake had she opened the attachment, and that she was the one who messed up and not us, so we should not have to pay the consequences. Clearly if she quoted us that price, even though she messed up, she had to honor it. She told us she would talk to the regional manager about it the following day and call us back. She called my wife the next day and told us that the regional manager told her she had to honor the price, DUH! So we saved over $400 on our cake. We were a little scared that they would do a half-ass job since we got it for so cheap, but the actual cake was exactly as the picture we gave them. Everyone raved about it (flavor AND design). We were very pleased with the outcome! Their customer service sucks but we ended up getting a steal and the cake was perfect.

I really wish I could give them a 5 but we have mixed feeling on this place and the staff, primarily the catering manager. The main reason we picked this place is because it had everything we wanted, primarily the terrace overlooking the water, and the price was great compared to other hotels with similar features. The only thing we were a little skeptical about is that parts of the hotel look a little dated, especially the exterior. However, the hotel is pretty old, it just needs a few renovations. Luckily, during the wedding, the ballroom and terrace looked like a million dollars, and you couldn't see the age at all! The catering manager was pretty difficult to deal with for the majority of the time before the wedding. Although she did respond to emails rather quickly, she just wasn't the kindest of people. During our tasting, she was very rude. She acted like we were taking too much of her time and even got up from the table and started heading back to her office before we were done eating. She made it seem like just because we weren't spending a ton more money on "extras", we weren't worth her time. However, the 2 weeks before the wedding she was great. She called us several times to help finish up the numbers and paperwork, and she was extremely nice. She made sure we had anything we needed, and as promptly as possible. She acted like a completely different person. The night of the wedding, she was very catering to the two of us. She made sure we always had drinks, food, etc. However, my DOC told me that she didn't show up until 6pm that day (8pm cocktail hour) and she left around 10pm.......not sure how I feel about that but whatever, everything worked out in the end. The wait staff was FANTASTIC! They practically wait on you hand and foot. Everyone was very impressed! Our complimentary suite was fantastic as well! That view is unbeatable! Would I recommend this place? Yes, definitely, it is amazing and ideal for a Miami wedding, just be cautious about the catering manager.

They were great. The linens were super nice and great quality. They also worked out a great deal with my wife, so we got them at a great price.

This company is a joke! We only booked them a few days before the wedding. I specially asked the guy to send me an email so I had everything that we paid for in writing. That day he told me all they had was a black/silver special edition Chrysler 300 for 12 passengers, and I said that's fine. He gave us a pretty good price on it so we sealed the deal. The day of the wedding, the driver shows up in a white Lincoln limo that fits only 9 or 10 passengers! We had planned it out so that we only needed to get one limo, and since my wife and I were at 2 separate locations, it worked out perfectly. Well the limo driver made a huge ordeal because I didn't have the credit card we paid with on him (my dad had it and he was at the same hotel as the bride). He almost just left us there stranded because of that! Finally he took us to the church but not after he insulted me! He told me that there would not be enough time to drop us off and the church and go pick up the bride and the rest of the people. I insisted that if we left on time it would work out perfectly (we had even over-estimated time just in case). Then the guy tells me that I shouldn't have been so cheap and just gotten 2 limos! Yeah, that almost turned into a fight. So since we were running late, he called another limo to go and get the bride and everyone else . So the other limo gets to the hotel and picks up my parents and leaves to the church.....without the bride (and bridesmaids and FOB)!!! They told him he needed to go back and get them and it took him 20 minutes just to turn around! Finally they get in the limo and the air conditioning doesn't work, just the fan! When they finally get to the church, the driver of the other/original limo starts verbally attacking the bride telling her "you don't know what you've put me through today" over and over again. Seriously, who could be more stressed than the bride or groom?! Do NOT use this company!

Father Frank was our Godsend! We were not able to find a priest until 2 weeks before the wedding, when we found him! He was super accommodating and willing to help. At the rehearsal, you could tell that he really knew his stuff and he was on top of everything. The day of the wedding, he was incredible! Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. We wanted it bilingual and he did a great job of mixing the two languages. His presence and the way he did things so gracefully really made it a beautiful mass. The homily he gave was beautiful, very appropriate and very touching. It was one of those that made people laugh and also made them cry, you know it's a good speech when you can do both! He also did an excellent job and giving my wife and I very subtle cues when we were supposed to do something. We weren't expecting this at all, and I can't even tell you how helpful it was. We were both totally relaxed with our wedding ceremony in his hands. At the reception and after the wedding, we've kept hearing from everyone how great our priest was. I didn't think that was something too many people commented on after a wedding, but he definitely left a good impression! We highly recommend him!

Church/Ceremony: My wife and I walked into this church and immediately knew this was the church we wanted to get married in. Our wedding was on a Friday instead of a Saturday for various reasons, and this alone brought up several issues with this church. They charged us the same as everyone else, but they did not provide a priest for us. We had to find our own -- which was the biggest mission ever and I don't even want to get into it. They have very strict rules, such as no flowers except on the altars, etc etc etc. For one thing, you are only allowed to use their in-house musician, and this was not included in the price. It was an extra $300! This church runs like a business, not a church. They are all over you to get money from you, but they don't even care that you even have a priest for your wedding. The only reason this church even gets a 3 is because it is so gorgeous that it does not even compare to the other churches we looked at.

Ceremony Musician/Mark Spencer: He plays wonderfully but when we had a trial with him, he played everything on the organ, and for the actual wedding, he only used the harp. He was also way too expensive in my opinion. $300 for one hour and only like 6 songs sounds like a rip off to me. But the church only allows you to use him and only him, so you're stuck.

My wife's ring had an "inclusion" and she was not happy with that and the manager was a bit rude about it. She kept telling us that they all have inclusions and we told her that if we were going to spend that much money on a ring, we didn't want any obvious imperfections. She finally gave in and ended up ordering 2 new rings for us to choose from, and let us analyze them with a microscope and pick the one my wife was most happy with. We've also had it re-sized 3 times and cleaned twice and it's always come out perfect. I definitely recommend them though. Everyone has bad days and that sometimes affects their customer service (the manager was pregnant, like 7-8 months, so I guess I can't blame her!!)

They were great. They had all of the tuxes and shoes in stock so you could actually try everything on in your size when you went into the store. Only bad thing is that my shirt smelled bad under the arms after only wearing it for like an hour, so it obviously wasn't washed right.
