Kelsey is one of my students (I am a professor at Cornerstone University) and she is graduating in just a month! She is, by far, the most talented singer I know. She sings like the angels. I don't understand why she's not disgustingly famous yet.

I am currently getting my ring resized from Andrew's Jewelers on 29th street, behind Hobby Lobby. It's costing a little over $25 to bring it down 1/2 a size. The saleswoman was friendly, but very stearn. She practically forced me to go 1/4 of a size smaller than i'm comfortable with, but I decided to trust her. Other than that, it was a very cute little jewelry shop!

Have guests volunteer to bring various desserts! My grandmother has a secret passion for cake decorating, so she will be making my fiance and i a special wedding cake, but we will also have plenty of other desserts to serve everyone's interests and feed everyone's appetite! :)

Every bridesmaid dreads recieving her stupid dress that's way too poofy and ugly and formal and she'll never wear again... so, I am buying my bridesmaid dresses at Target! This way, my bridesmaids will actually be happy they are stuck with a dress and it will be something less formal and more practical - something they can wear to church!

All of my family's events are pot-luck-style dinners, so I figured my wedding shouldn't be any different! This way, there is a large variety of food, it's inexpensive (free!) and there is always way too much food! Plus we are providing the pig roast and the beverages.

Carol is doing all of my floral decorating. She is so talented with picking out flowers to go with my color scheme and mood of the wedding!

I bought of the stuff to make invitations at Hobby Lobby.
- Pack of 50 cards and envelopes for $6.99 (and 30% off that week!)
- Two stamps (a bird and a bear, because that's what my fiance and i call each other)
- Hemp (to tie a bow on each card)

I am just going to create a template on my computer, put them through the printer, add the stamps and hemp and send them out!

My fiance, Wes, is actually doing our engagement pictures. It sounds a little shady, but he's so phenomenal that he will actually do an amazing job. He is inexpensive and flexible and SO INCREDIBLY TALENTED, seriously the best photographer I have ever met. (and i'm not just saying that because i love him)

I'm not into all that raunchy bachelorette party stuff, so I am taking my bridal party to Naked Plates (downtown GR) and we are going to paint pottery!

I am doing nearly everything myself. We are getting married at my family's campground in Plainwell. We are having a pot-luck-style dinner and a pig roast (dishes to pass are assigned on invitations). i made all of my own invites (Hobby Lobby!), I am buying my bridesmaid dresses at Target (practical dresses!) and altering my mother's wedding dress for myself. The groomsmen are all wearing matching outfits from GAP. None of the wedding party is wearing shoes. We are getting all of our dinnerware from Salvation Army (mismatched antique plates). We are having a small wedding cake (that we can cut) and then included desserts in the pot-luck, so there are plenty of options!

My fiance's friend is doing our photography (my fiance is a pro photographer), some of my music major students (i work at a university) are doing the music (we picked the songs from artists like Over The Rhine, Nickelcreek, Ben Folds, and Brandi Carlille)

That's about it! I'm super excited! It's so quaint and personal and unique. I absolutely love it.
