We relied on Gary’s Tux Shop to outfit the men…and we were happy with the prices, service, and tuxedos.

One of my favorite parts of planning the wedding was cake tasting – delicious! Sharon had a great variety of flavors of cake and frosting, and incorporated the flowers we used for decorations as well. Like the food, a number of people told us we had the best cake they’d ever eaten.

We wanted an unusual car for wedding transportation, and settled on a black & silver Rolls Royce – it was awesome! BMC’s rates were reasonable, we loved our driver (he took us on a beautiful drive after the ceremony), and some of our best photos were taken in and around the car.

Getting married in a Catholic Church was important for my husband, and St. Jude’s was the perfect venue. We got married right before Easter, so the church was decorated for the holiday – and looked great! I enjoyed working with the church staff; they were friendly and helpful (even though I’m not Catholic!) The only negative was being forced into a 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. time slot for the ceremony because of baptisms…but we got married at 2 p.m. and gave our guests a list of area activities to tide them over until the reception started at 5 p.m.

Jackie is absolutely hilarious – and did a terrific job doing makeup and hair for my wedding party. She even held a pre-wedding pedicure session for us, and took everyone’s preferences into account for hair and makeup. Some of the women were wearing more makeup than they were accustomed to – but the pictures were beautiful, and, for me, that was the most important thing!

We found Silverwood through Andy Mirkovich Productions, and they were terrific – professional, tasteful, and perfect for our church ceremony. Some of my favorite photos from the ceremony include them

We wanted live music to appeal to the wide range of ages and tastes at our wedding, and Bobby Medina & the Red Hot Band was the perfect choice. They’re talented musicians and they had our guests dancing all night long! They even let my brother-in-law, an aspiring singer and songwriter, take the microphone for “Mustang Sally” at the end of the night – what a blast!

A graduate school friend recommended Bella Rugosa to me…and I’m so glad she did! Our arrangements were unique and beautiful – and included live hydrangeas, several of which are thriving in my parents’ yard! After we reviewed Julie’s portfolio, we asked her to use seasonal flowers and didn’t give much more direction than that. We arrived at the church to see copper vases with gorgeous arrangements, candles, and amazing bouquets and corsages for the wedding party. Like the food, a number of people commented that they’d never seen such beautiful flowers at a wedding before.

Willows Lodge was a breathtaking venue for our reception – the event space was the perfect size, guests spilled over into the gardens and fed the pet pig, and the food was delicious! I enjoyed working with the wedding planner, who suggested activities for our guests to do while they waited for us to arrive, helped guide our choices for food, and kept everything running smoothly. In addition, they upgraded us to one of their suites for our wedding night (we got married during the off season) and it was divine! Countless people told me that we served the best food they’d ever had at a wedding.

We were looking for a casual rehearsal dinner venue with good beer and food, so we opted for the Forecasters Public House. This is an area around a fire pit in the center of the brewery that you can reserve. Despite telling the coordinator multiple times that my contact information would change a week before the wedding (I was living in Boise while planning my wedding), they called my Boise number and, when I didn’t respond, they released the space. When we arrived for dinner with a big group of adults and hungry, tired kids, the space wasn’t available. Thankfully, the wait staff cleared the people sitting at the fire pit and got food ordered for our group…but it was stressful and disappointing. To their credit, Red Hook sent a certificate for dinner as an apology.
