I also love Palos Verdes and wanted a beautiful ocean view. Trump was a bit too pricey. La Venta - the food is really awesome, but the site was too small and the space is broken up. Redondo beach historic library was really cute but not private enough (beach goers are strolling around right outside). So, Los Verdes seemed just right. It's definitely not perfect. I have to agree that the food is sub-par (although my guests argued it was pretty good). During our tasting, the beef was really dry and the bruschetta was soggy and plain, but the mashed potatoes were quite good. At our actual wedding, the mashed potatoes were only ok. I've heard other people say that they've been to multiple weddings here and the food has always varied from delicious to not so delicious. It seems they have a problem with quality control. But, really, how many people go to a wedding expecting 5 star quality? If you are, then you should go with New York Food Company (La Venta & Verandas in Manhattan Beach). Also, I do agree that their ballroom could use some updating, but you hardly notice once all the linens and decorations are in place. If you're looking for a site with a great open space, beautiful ocean view, and reasonable prices, you should look into Los Verdes. Despite the negatives, I was really happy with my wedding and wouldn't do it any differently.

Bernie was referred to me through a friend of a friend. He does beautiful arrangements and is definitely reasonably priced. I only had him do three small arrangements (2 for each candelabra and 1 for the altar table), our bouquets, a pomander for the flower girl, and all the boutonnieres/corsages. He did a great job. The flowers & arrangements were really beautiful. He was reliable and quite easy to work with. Overall, I was very happy with creative floral designs.
I found Joyce through project wedding. Many of the other stylists also got good, 5 star reviews, but I decided to go with Joyce for a number of reasons. First, her reviews were not just 5 stars, but glowing. I couldn't ignore how everyone seemed to love working with Joyce. Second, she was very professional and clear about her prices and policies. From the very beginning I found her very easy to work with. I felt comfortable even from our first email. The only thing that made me hesitate was the price. Now looking back, it's like another bride said, "she's worth every penny." I did do a trial run which was a good thing because I thought I knew what I wanted, but I didn't. Joyce was very patient during the trial and made sure we got things just right. On the day of my wedding, Joyce and her team were right on time, without a hitch. They really were so calm and pleasant that they got the day off to a great start. I was a little nervous and kept changing my mind about things, but Joyce was great. She was patient with me, but also made sure I was ready in plenty of time. I was really happy with my look and it lasted ALL day - more than 12 hours through sunshine and wind. Joyce did an amazing job. She not only has the talent and experience, but also a wonderfully warm, caring personality. And judging from other people's reviews, she really connects with each bride and makes them feel special. I know she did with me! I feel really blessed to have had Joyce and her team be part of my day. If I had it to do over again, I would pick Joyce in a heartbeat.
