I really liked the photographer we had for our engagement pictures. I think we went with Tammy because we liked her portfolio, but also I think we feel that females make better photographers. We wanted really casual pictures that reflected our day-to-day life, and I think Tammy really captured that. We waited over a month for the proofs, which was long but that was also the time we were told we would have to wait. We loved the pictures. They were really beautiful. I liked them because the pictures were so clean, and the colors were so vibrant.

My husband went to Macy’s and got a suit. Aside from the wedding, his work also required him to have really fancy formal wear so he really spent a lot on his suit. What’s good is that Macy’s has a great selection of high end stuff, plus he was able to get his shoes and socks there, and a haircut. Macy’s is a very efficient store for men.

My husband said that he bought my engagement ring in Buffallo because he didn’t want anyone to see him buying the ring. I loved the ring! I knew he had been looking at rings because I saw the Zales website on our computer’s internet history. We had to go back to the same store to get our wedding bands. I always thought Zales had great salespeople. I also think their jewelry is beautiful.

This was the salon my best friend goes to, and I went in for a wedding hair consultation. I found that paying for a consultation was a bit strange, but I read that this is what most salons do. I liked the salon a lot. It was clean, and the atmosphere was good, and I felt that the stylist really listened to what I wanted.

We had to rush at the last minute to find someone who could make my bouquet. My mother-in-laws sister had promised to make the bouquet, but had a last minute family emergency. We called several places, and this was the one place that was able to do it on such sort notice. In the end I had a really pretty bouquet, it was made from more popular flowers and was not that unique, but it was still nice to have flowers to hold.

We wanted to have an eco-friendly gift, so we decided on packets of flower seeds. We bought all the packets of seeds from Genrich's Garden Center, and we had a really nice set up for the display table. Genrich's is pretty good because it is so well organized. The packets we chose on were sunflower seeds, so we had potted sunflowers, which we also bought from there. Overall it was a lot of work to make the display look nice, and we used lots of arts and crafts, along with lots of potted flowers to make it look nice. We went overbudget on this idea by about $140.

We had a DJ for the wedding reception. Rick was the person who did my sister-in-laws wedding. What I liked about Rick was that he took all of our music requests, and he did not play songs that we hated. My husband really loves music, and really loved how Rick was able to sense the vibe of the group. He played old and new songs, overall a very good DJ.

We had the wedding ceremony at my husband’s church. Pastor Wilck was great about letting us say our own vows, within reason, and they also gave us a few songs to chose from for during our ceremony. The church is very simple, but elegant, and I think that it was a nice setting for our wedding. We did have to change the date of our wedding, though, so we could fit into the church’s available date.

I hated my wedding cake. My mother-in-law is rather cheap, and talked my husband and I into getting a Wal-Mart cake for our wedding. The cake cost $200, and we still needed to buy the topper that we wanted for it. My complaint was that the cake did not taste that good. It was like eating a Betty Crocker Cake, or some other box cake. It looked okay, the colors weren’t exactly what we wanted, and the icing ended up being smeared because of the box it was transported in was cheap.

I got the most beautiful gold dresses from Sears. I think they were left over from the holiday season, but they were perfect. It was the Sears brand name, Jessica, which sometimes is cheap but this was one of the cases where it was nice quality. I like Sears because when things go on sale, you can get things for 50% off. I hate the changing rooms at Sears. I think the changing rooms are gross. I also think you really need to search if you’re going to find anything nice.
