I enjoyed working with Kristie and Aaron very much. I liked them right away because Aaron was willing to come to my home to meet me. Working full time, as the majority of brides do, it can be hard to arrange vendor appointments. Though Aaron is based out of the Murrieta/Temecula area he came up to Upland, approx. 30-45 minutes to meet me in the evening.
Like most brides my groom was not involoved in much of the planning process. So, my mom did my DJ vendor appointments with me. Both her and I liked him off the bat because we felt like we could be very honest and open with him. I only met with two DJ's before hiring Aaron and since my now husband was not present at those meetings I asked if they would be open to meeting him assuming I hired them. The other DJ basically said no, that assuming I hire him this is the only in person meeting we would have. When I asked Aaron that question he was very open to the idea and was willing to travel to Upland again! I think that speaks volumes as to he wanting to get to know you as a couple and not treat your wedding like it is just another gig!
I also appreciated the fact that he was the DJ I met with and the DJ that showed up. Even though I only met with 2 DJ's I contacted and talked to many of them by email. Often it seemed the DJ I hired is not who they assured would be the one to show up. Which left me feeling very unsure. It was nice to walk into the reception and recognize the person that was behind the DJ stand. Aaron assured me from the beginning that he would be MY DJ!
Kristie was also very patient with me as music was the one thing neither my husband or I did much about. Krisite called me the week of the wedding and we discussed what still needed to be done. I did the part I could take care of and she worked with my day of coordinator on the rest. I really appreciated her flexibility in letting my DOC communicate the timeline and a few other important details to her.
Having hired a DOC and having an onsite coordinator I didn't have to worry the day of about any of my vendors. All I know is when I walked into my reception Aaron was there playing the correct entrace song, and played the correct song selections for all of the other important dances.
He also made sure that we kept on track with the timeline. Our table visits were running long and even though we wanted to finish them Aaron knew the party had to keep going so that our guests wouldn't get bored! I really appreciated that because I didn't want my guests to feel that the reception was dragging on.
I hired Aaron to make sure the dance floor was full at all times, and the reception was a blast! I hired Aaron because I felt like he could read a crowd and know what would get them going. I actually think that the little to no guidance I provided turned out to be a good thing because he was able to do what he is good at, read a crowd and get them on the dance floor!
I would hire Aaron again!
I was married on November 1, 2008 at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Ca. I was never really worried about doing the planning on my own but I knew a DOC was a MUST!
The minute I met Gabby I knew she was the perfect DOC for me! Though I did not need much help during the planning process Gabby was great about sending emails to check in on me!
Gabby and I met the week before the wedding to go over final details. After that meeting Gabby created the timeline for me, which was a HUGE help! From there she contacted all of the vendors and arranged and confirmed the timing of their arrival and set up. Which may not seem like a big deal but trust me to have someone take care of that is a big help!
At that meeting she also realized that my mom had wanted to get table overlays but we never took the time to make it happen. By the next day Gabby had arranged table overlays for me! This is a perfect example of one of the many things she took upon herself to make happen so that my day was perfect!
Gabby continued to go the extra mile with the reception set up by finding us chair covers, the day of the wedding! Though we did not end up using them that is just another example of how far she goes to make the day special!
I had a semi-destination wedding and left on Thursday to start our wedding weekend! After the meeting we had that Monday night I was able to let go and allow her to take over! I had little to do after that meeting because I knew Gabby was on top of it. And once I left Thursday I NEVER worried about a thing. The day of the wedding, Saturday, I was never bothered with anything, she did it all. If anything went wrong that day I still don't know about it!
I think hiring a DOC is the best decision a bride can make it but only if they hire the right one. Gabby is remarkable at her job and will think of things you haven't and make things happen that you just didn't have time or energy to take care of yourself!
