We had our ceremony in the Redwood Grove at the gardens and the reception was a 4 minute walk away at the conference center (convenient). Our bartender and DJ were out on the terrace where we were going to have the dance floor but it was quite the chilly night so we pushed tables back and danced inside. We had a small wedding (44 guests) so this site was perfect, not crowded, intimate. The reception pictures from the outdoor terrace are some of my favorite because of the strings of lights in the background and the gorgeous plants surrounding the conference center. Margie, our rental coordinator, who works for UCBBG was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

I highly recommend Wilma Lott. This is one of the recommended caterers given by UCBG at Berkeley, where we held our ceremony and reception. I didn't exactly see what I wanted on their menu so I basically wrote up a list of apps, entrees, sides etc. and they came up with everything on my list for a tasting. The tasting was great because we were able to eat the food and give suggestions. We wanted Mexican food because we met in New Mexico, but I still wanted it to be fresh. Everything was amazing. They are really good at making fancy food art decor but I didn't really want that so they held back but the presentation of the food was still gorgeous. I received more than one compliment from guests saying that it was the best wedding food they've ever tasted. I agree!
We had our dinner catered by the fabulous Wilma Lott Caterers. Our wedding was fairly casual and untraditional. My husband and I love carrot cake and so we asked our caterers if they could make us our cake. It was the most delicious wedding cake I've ever tasted. If you don't care about what your cake looks like I recommend this! They were two large sheetcakes, NO FRILLS.
no decorations...just frosted and flat but absolutely delicious!
