I hired this photographer because of his photojournalistic style, past work examples, and price. We liked Ruben a lot. On the day of our wedding, he was running late and sent an assistant, and said he would be there by the reception. The person he sent took formal pictures (one shot of each - so there are few good ones where everyone is smiling/not looking awkward). Ruben himself never showed up, and the assistant started asking to leave a few hours in to the reception. I had instructed him earlier to take a bunch of candid shots of the guests, especially of the children (who were so cute in their dress clothes). When we got the pictures back, there were zero pictures of the kids, and very few candid shots, and most of them were blurry. We were very very disappointed. Ruben tried to make things right after the fact, but it was too late. Now, every time I go to a wedding and see the paid photographer snapping away, I get upset all over again.
