do NOt go to the HARRISBURG david's bridal if you want to be treated with dignity and respect. my mom and i were "waited" on by Dara who was horrible to us!!!!!!!!!!!!also, the store is run incompetently....i made an appt for bra fittings for my mom and myself. upon my arrival, i found out i was not in the schedule book or in the wrong spot. i was then taken and shown my dressing room and told my girl is blonde with blue shirt named DARA. my mom and i got distracted looking at shoes while we waited. my mom then sat in a row of 4 chair that had been empty for the 15 MINUTES that we looked at shoes. my mom was then approached by DARA who told her she could not sit there. i was not aware of any of it because i was on my cell phone at the time. i then went to get the girl up front and asked if i could look thru bras and wait on myself because i felt dara was too busy. the girl then brought me TO DARA. in meantime i found out there was a "bra room" that was "full" of all these bras and the girls had to get it for me. so after i was introduced to dara, i looked her in the eye and said, "i'm sorry you got double booked." she looked me directly back, cocked her head and said, (VERY MEANLY IN A VERY RUDE VOICE)"no, i didnt get double booked. i got triple booked!@" i then told her it was for my mom also and started to suggest we try them on at same time to save her time. SHE THEN SNAPPED AT ME AGAIN, SAYING, "lets just take care of YOU first THEN we'll take care of her!"
i once agian bit my tounge and did not react. tried mine on. decided right away. came out and told her which one i wanted. then when it came time to fit my mom, and DARA was forced to look more times than once to find a size, i noted that behind the curtain to the (BRA ROOM) i could see thru side that she was forced to getting down looking thru a box of bras and i could see that room was FULL of bras. the next choice she comes up with still does not fit and when i tell dara she tells me to put dress on with it/ so we do. when i brought my mom to dara she didnt remark that it didnt fit right even though there was visible evidence thru the dress that it didnt. even an idoit could see that. once dara walked away again, i tell my mom get dressed and we'll buy yours somewhere else. my sister had shown up randomly and found us and brought us to the girl that was waiting on her and treating her nice. so as i was across the room with my sister and the new girl, DARA finally decides to care enough to come and find out what i was doing. i then quietly told her that i will get my mom's bra elsewhere. still holding the bra and shawl i was gonna buy. however i went back to talking to my sister and watching her daughter try on dresses. when we were done with that, as i walked to the register to try and pay for my things, i passed by DARA and EVEN THANKED HER for HELPING ME!!!!!!!!!! i then stood at the register for another 20 MINUTES being ignored!!!! i then looked down at a $55 bra and the time which was 2 and a half hours from the time i had walked in!!! and decided i was ready to WALK OUT AND NEVER RETURN TO THAT STORE AGAIN...so i put the bra on a table and left with my mom, sister and niece. WITHOUT BUYING A SINGLE THING...TOO BAD CAUSE I GOT A DAVIDS BRIDAL CARD THAT I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR A DRESS FOR MYSELF, MY FLOWERGIRL, AND HAD PLANNED ON USING IT TO BUY ALL 5 OF MY BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES THERE...

we had a scheduled cake tasting with about weddings. they have a very polite and helpful staff. we were taken upstairs to a private room for a tasting of 3 choices from many flavors. see aboutweddings.com. we were left alone to sample the cakes(coffee and water served) and given 2 huge photo albums of cakes to look thru, so we could mark pages of our ideas. then our consultant came back to gather our info and discuss the cake. we went thru the photos and planned what we wanted. she was SO patient, helpful during this process. she even talked to us about all our wedding related questions and was very knowledgable. we got some great advice there. we are so pleased with the service! they had good deals on all other wedding necessities. not sure on pricing because the services are included in our package deal with karen's catering and we paid nothing.

i have booked this site already, and i am very happy with my choice! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS setting. very elegant! ceremony will be in the garden along riverfront. (it moves inside adjacent mansion ballroom if there's rain).
reception follows inside the historic mansion on same grounds. there is a 1st floor cocktail hour with cascading hors d'ourve table. dinner and dancing to follow in the 2nd floor ballroom. it has capacity for 150 people, with a raised stage for head table or a band.
cost is approx $1200 for garden and mansion rental, with seperate payment for dinner going to the exclusive caterer for the Civic Club, Karen's catering. adjacent parking lot can be rented for $200 extra.
Karen's catering provides lunch at the harrisburg civic club on tue thru fri, 11 to 2. i highly recommend going there for lunch one day! the food is very tasty and elegant looking, and the staff there was so nice and helpful, especially when i told them my wedding was going to be there..
it is one big package deal with the club and karen's catering. we've already met with the coordinator who is awesome. she gave us a great tour/history of the mansion which has a great story behind it. she emailed me the schedule we decided on, and has always promptly answered all my emails. you get unlimited meetings, plus viewing of ballroom for other wedding set ups.
dinner packages are approx $50 a plate. the price also includes the cake made by About Weddings, table service, all tableware and linens, and a cocktail hour with a huge hors d'ourves table. you provide the booze if you want that, and pay extra for bartenders. 717-985-9300
i was happy to have the ceremony, reception site, caterer, and cake all in one package, it seems so much easier to coordinate. i can't believe i found this place! a fairy-tale wedding i have always dreamed of...

i had a wedding consult during a haircut with my stylist, Kiki. she was very knowledgable, with great ideas, pleasant personality, and extremely skilled. planned monthly haircuts, and tips to keep hair healthy for big day. plans for hair coloring closer to wedding, and salon visits for skin and nail care. see my site for a pic of my new haircut. 4229 Elmerton Ave. Harrisburg Pa 17109. hair. nails. skin care. massage. tanning. 717-671-0774. this is a warm, cozy home with friendly, professional staff. the wonderful aroma greets you at the door from scented candles. there were men and women clients alike. i loved the big chairs that massage you while you have pedicures! our stylist, Kiki did an excellent job on our hair, also showing us around the place. it was clean and well kept, and the upstairs tanning rooms and massage room look so relaxing! i can't wait to return for a full body massage session. this salon has it all!

funk/disco/current dance music. 10 man band with 3 singers and a horn section. excellent performers, GREAT crowd interaction. i have attended impact band gigs for years, and they are not only a FUN band, but very genuine, good people...band plays 3 one hr sets with cd of 21 songs of your choice(yours to keep)to be played during breaks. band does all intros, etc...
