We debated over what to get our guests, and we decided that a nice chocolates and caramels would be a nice way of saying thank you for having them attend the party. We chose Abbott’s Also, which makes specialty chocolates and caramels, because they are a great local business and because they really went up and beyond what was expected when we told them our idea of having boxes of chocolates for thank you gifts. They worked with us carefully to make sure that we had enough of all their speciality flavors, and tasting all the different flavors was almost as fun as wedding cake tasting. After careful debate, we had boxes made of chocolates or caramels for each family rather than for each guests, which would have been too pricey. We decided that one box per family or couple was fair. We got lots of thank you notes from the chocolate, which was sweet because we had gotten the guests the treats as a way of thanking them!

I went wedding dress shopping here with my friends and got the flyers and brochures for my husband about the suits and tuxedos that he would be able to rent from them. The flyers don’t have prices, which is a bit annoying, but it gave us a good idea of the brands they carried. I went a second time to the store with my fiancé, and even though they were a bit disappointed that I wasn’t buying my dress from them, they were great about fitting my fiancé for a suit. They were great about making a second appointment for the best men, who went the following weekend to be fitted for their suits. I do not recommend going with the cheapest suits, because those rentals do look cheap. The salesperson was great about showing us the nicest tuxedos in a really good price range for a person on a teacher’s salary.

I loved having a limousine pick us up and drive us from our house to the church and then the restaurant. Our contact person at the company was David, and he explained that Indianapolis Limousine was owned by the Hoosier Limousine company. It was rather complicated understanding all the details, but we got the car we wanted and it arrived on time. Some of the nice features about going with this company is that the driver does wear a suit, and then they had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the car. I heard that there’s another company that does the red carpet service, which would have been fun, too, but in the end the limousine is just how you get to the party.

This was the restaurant that my parents-in-law chose, because they said that this was a great family restaurant. They thought it was the perfect location because we were all going to become a big family. I had never been there before that night, but I really hope that I’m never that kind of family. The place was very cosy, very family, it felt like we had wandered into someone’s home. The decorations on the wall feel authentic. We had made a reservation for 16 people, and they had a table for us. Two different waitresses asked us if anyone had served us before we got our water. The food is also not healthy. I really didn’t want to eat so much breaded chicken and fish a few days before my wedding. Aside from not being healthy, the food is really tasty and it is a great atmosphere. It is more expensive than the Olive Garden, but I’m guessing we’re paying for not being in a chain restaurant. I think that Indianapolis has lots of great independent restaurants, and only if you’re looking for real home-cooked meals do I suggest you go here.

Don’t let the name fool you! This is a wonderful restaurant to have your wedding reception. The restaurant is really nice inside, with cute tables and high ceilings. I think the best feature is the view of the water, which is just breathtaking when the sunsets. It’s really perfect for wedding photos! We met with the manager and confirmed right away our date, and then worked on a menu. They obviously have a great seafood selection, but we also were able to get chicken and steak plates. Rick’s also had a vegetarian option, though it wasn’t very special or out of the ordinary. There is the option of buffet, but we went with plates. I loved it! The staff working the night of our wedding was great, I have no complaints!

The restaurant where we would be holding our reception gave us the option of either having them make the dessert or bringing in our own cake. I wanted Amazing Cakes to make our cake because they have done the wedding cakes for my friends and the cakes look beautiful! I didn’t want the traditional cake with tiers and flowers, and Millie was able to create us a really creative cake! In our consultation we got to see all the different styles, and taste the different flavors. We got a layered cake of vanilla-chocolate-vanilla, which was just delicious! The icing is also so much better than grocery store cakes. I loved the taste and how pretty the cake was.

We went to Saks because they have a great selection of brand name dresses, and we found styles that matched the color palette I wanted right away. I had offered to pay for the bridesmaids’ dresses and gave them the choice in the style they wanted, but I still wanted something that looked fresh and not like a typical bridesmaid gown. They had really nice Donna Karen dresses, and those were the ones we went with. I liked the Donna Karen dresses because they are really simple but elegant, and they also are made really well. The dresses were not on sale, but the cost less than $200 each, which I think is pretty good. We were also able to get great designer shoes, and cute accessories. I bought my wedding shoes here, too.

I am giving this place a 5 star review because it was the perfect place to have my bridal shower. It was a very small party, with only female relatives. I told my mother that I wanted it at the café rather than at someone’s house because it would be easier, and also because the café is situated in a fun party of the downtown area. It’s not a very big café, but it does have some of the best ice cream and hot chocolate in the city. My grandmother loved the great selection of chocolate desserts, too! It was a great place to spend a few hours with close relatives talking about the trails of marriage, and eating chocolate.

I just went to another Perfect Wedding Guide show with my sister, and I have to say that I am impressed with the number of vendors that attend these things. The Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show is getting more and more popular, and is much bigger than it was in 2007. Still, I really liked my 2007 wedding show; I went even though I had most of the details for my wedding ready, and it was really, really fun. All the brides sat at these beautiful tables, and then we got to see a fashion show and then a video. I would have to say that had I had been to the Conrad Hotel sooner, I may have changed my mind about the reception hall. In the end, both shows were a great way to see what vendors are in the area in one day, rather than having to hunt them down on our owns.

I found the best dress selection here, and I loved the dress that I got here. I think this is also one of the best-run bridal shops in the Indianapolis area, because the staff is really professional and courteous. The saleswoman who helped my bridesmaids and I look at wedding dresses had so much input on trends and styles, and what would look good on what type of body. I was willing to spend a little more on a wedding dress than other parts of my wedding because I really feel you only get married once, and I wanted to feel like a princess. I felt so special during my entire time in the store, and I loved my dress when it was ready.
