We searched high and low for a very specific kind of band, finding only bad bands and expensive bands, until someone put us in contact with Jean-Paul. He was a dream come true. He found us a GREAT band, for less money than the bad bands wanted, and did a wonderful job of making choosing the music and figuring out the details smooth and easy. He is a lovely person and a very good businessman - he delivers exactly what you want in a timely and professional fashion. Check out his website for some of the groups he books regularly, but also keep in mind that he may be able to find exactly what you want even if it's something totally different. Highly recommended.

We had the most wonderful cake from Perfectly Sweet. Our guests were literally arguing over which was better, the white cake with homemade lemon curd and raspberry filling or the chocolate with chocolate ganache and raspberry. (The answer is that the lemon is better, if you ask me, but they're both fantastic.) Mary, the owner, is delightful, and the prices are very fair. Highly recommended.

I was thrilled with Kurt before and during the wedding, but found him incredibly difficult to deal with afterward. He kept promising to send things (DVDs, album drafts, pricing for large prints, etc.) and then disappearing for weeks or even months. My husband and I have resigned ourselves to putting together the album on our own, since Kurt won't return our phone calls or e-mails. He's a nice guy and I wish I could recommend him, but there's no way I would ever hire him if I had it to do over.

Sid and Patty of the Spot (and Leroy, who was our event catering coordinator) are absolute treasures. We had the most delicious food, and it was so much more interesting than wedding food usually is - lots of fresh herbs, good cheeses, and spices. Our guests couldn't stop raving about it. Their assistance in coordinating the whole event was invaluable, from arranging the room to estimating rentals, and they are the nicest people in the world to work with. I highly, highly, highly recommend them.

My experience was pretty similar to Starwell's (below). The table arrangements and altar decoration were beautiful, but the bouts and bouquets weren't the right colors (not terrible, but not right). Literally every other vendor we worked with was friendly and accommodating, but Shirvan always seemed to make a big deal over everything we asked. They also were very pushy on the first meeting. They're the only vendor that kind of left a bad taste in my mouth - not that they screwed anything up terribly, just that I wish I had given someone else our money.
