Maurisa is awesome, she is sweet and fun-plus amazing at hair and makeup! She did my hair and makeup for my TTD shoot in march. She is truly an artist and created a very dramatic, vogue look for me-which is exactly what we wanted! Maurisa worked quickly and had this awesome hair piece for me to wear too. She came along the shoot with us and half way through, quickly gave me a more dramatic smokey eyed look. It was freezing cold that evening, in between "sets" she would bring me my coat and hold my bouquet for me. I felt so pampered!
I will absolutely think of Maurisa for my future hair and makeup needs, shes wonderful! I can't wait to post pics of the shoot!
Elaine's cakes-I didn't want to spend $7/pp on a cake. Elaine was super sweet and quick with emails. I got her info from a server for my grandmother's catering company. I worked her wedding, and I liked the cake, so I was sold! We met with Elaine, and we booked her on the spot. SHe was sooo sweet, and made us mini cakes, we were stuffed...so she packed up the leftovers lol. She is quick to respond to my emails and even eased my "Week of doubt" when I was having second thoughts about EVERYTHING!!
THe day of the wedding, she arrived right on time (according to some of my PW friends). The cake was perfect, moist and beautiful!! COuld NOT be happier!!
Danville Community Center-Choosing a venue was very hard for us to do. My grandmother didn't want to drive to far and I didn't want to make my fiances family drive too far. So we had t choose something between Martinez and Union City. The Pleasanton Community Center was my first choice, but my grandmother said she wouldn't be able to travel that far (she was ill). So we choose the Danville COmmunity Center. The prices we reasonable, and we got to choose our vendors. However, they are a pain to work with. The venue coordinator changed twice, and the second one was way worse. Her communication was horrible! Often, my quick email went unanswered for over a week, I'd call and couldn't get ahold of her then she would email me back within a few days after that. It was annoying, especially since there arent that many events at their facilities... less than once a month!
When it came time for the final walk through, I wanted to swtich venues! Nicole almost refused to place 10 guests at a 5ft table, which can be done. Then when I reminded her about the agreement the previous coordinator and I had, which was to move the ceremony chairs to the reception site after the ceremony she said "thats never been done before, I dont know if we can" Ug, what? After the ceremony they have to be put back anyway, the storage room is inside the reception room. So when I called her on it, she said that she thinks they are too short and guests wouldn't be comfortable. I then emailed her asking to measure the width and height of the chair and the height of the table. SHe said she would get back to me the following day, and she didnt...big surprise! I'm still waiting for the final layout so I can make my escort cards. I'm seriously fed up with Nicole.
Nicole is awesome. Her rates are great, and shes always quick to repsond

Bonnie is the best. It turns out I had known of her daughter and we went to the same high school...small world.
When I met with Bonnie I was scared! She was the first person that I met with and I had strange trust issues regarding my dress lol. But she totally got my vision. MY dress fit me pretty well, but this is the breakdown:
$275 for all this:
Hen
3 point bustle
taking in the sides (for mermaid style instead of trumpet)
making the back a lowe cut (it was rubbing against my shoulder blade)-this was the most costly
She also adjusted my beading [I had lost a few beads, and a button =( ]
ALSO, I was soooooooooooooooo undecided about what type of veil I wanted, and went back and forth over and over again. I thought I only wanted a chapel length, then saw a pic of a beautiful blusher. I was soo torn but she helped me figure it out and being able to try on her samples helped a TON!!
Bonnie was very quick with the alterations and always fun to work with. SHe even showed my great aunt how to take pics with my digital camera lol
I love her, shes the best!
Jessica's designs ROCK!! I wish I had discovered her earlier, I would have had her do my inites, im in LOVE with her designs!!
Jess created my wine labels, reserved signs, table numbers and escort cards...all soo beautiful!!! Shes also great to work with, I was such a pain in the butt!!
Well, my wedding is in September and I contacted Vinny form imperial in Januaury. We set up a meeting about 30 mins from my house for a few weeks later. I had initially been interested in their lowest package, one camera for 8 hours.
When I met with Vinny and Ivan and I really liked their work. They showed me the difference between a ceremony shot with one camera and one shot with two cameras. I fell in love with the two cameras. However, I could not affor two videographers for 8 hours, it was out of my budget and they knew what my budget was upfront. I went home knowing that I wanted to hire them, for sure. Before I lfet, I asked them if they had others interested in my date right now, Vinny checked his calendar to makes ure that the bride they met with a few weeks prior was interested in a different date, I wanted to make sure I had a few days to mull it over. I talked it over with my fiance and we came up with an idea, one that would meet the videographers minmums and that was in our budget. We thought we could have photographer A start at 12:30 and go until 5:30 and photog B start at 3:30 and go until 8:30. This way they overlapped for the ceremony. I called Vinny, and he said he would call his partner but a few days went by and I didnt hear from them. So I called again. Then I was told I would get a call on SAturday. I did get a call, but it was at 2 am. Then around noon I get a text from Ivan saying he was at an event that night and his phone dialed my number by accident, he would give me a call later. I didn hear anything from him all day. Sunday around noon, I still hadn't heard back so I called Ivan. I lef ta message. THen I called Vinny, he said, "oh, Ican didn't call you? Let me call him and have him give you a call back" So 2 mins later, Ivan calls me and saya" sorry, we booked someone else for your date." I said, what? so you wasted my time? he responded with, "Well, I we waisted our time too" I told him, they said they didnt have anyone else interested and I even asked him about it before I lef tthe coffee shop. "WEll, we didnt think they were going to book with us" WTF. I am so mad. I even referred a friend to them. She never got a call back.
Their professionalism is the worst I have ever seen.
I found danielle through some rec on the knot, and we decided to set up a marathon session with her, I was in charge =)
Well, Danielle gave great direction and I felt really comfortable infront of her. She has high energy and I didn't feel self concious around her at all.
THe images were amazing had I had a really hard time choosing which ones I wanted edited.
She lost a star though, because her communication was really bad. I felt like I was hounding her for the images a few times. At one point, she promised me that I would receive the images by the first of the month, but when I hadn't gotten them by the 19th of the month, I emailed her, then received them on the 23rd. I was really dissapointed with this, but I was the only one on the knot that has these issues.
If you have time to wait, want great images, and don't mind being patient Danielle might be a good option for you.
