I came across this store by accident, but I am glad that I did. They have tons of great products in their store (that you can look at before ordering). Chair covers, table cloths, card holders, cake towers, etc. They also do decorations and have quite a few binders FULL of pictures of decorations they have done. They have loads of invitations you can choose from to order. They usually have sales so watch online and in store for some very good deals.

I bought my flowergirl dress at Ethos. I found they had the best prices on flowergirl dresses as well as having a different selection than many of the other stores did.
However, their prices on Bridesmaid/Mother of the Brides dresses were ridiculous. $700 for a mother of the bride dress? I don't think so. We also saw lots of bridesmaid dresses that were prices much lower at other stores. They only give a discout on ordering more than one dress if you purchased your wedding gown there.

i went into Cakeworks to talk to someone about ordering a wedding cake. I was the only customer in the store, and there was two employees working. One of them came up to me and told me the other girl would be right with me. Twenty minutes later, the girl comes over and tells me she is too busy to sit down and talk with me, so I can go online and look at all their cakes. They advertise that they are a walk in cake store, and that you can come in and look at all their cakes IN STORE as well as taste a sample of the cake. We were given our sample, but told that vanilla and chocolate were the only flavors that they make and they only make one type of icing.
Needless to say, I was already a little peeved. Then she tells me that if we want any ribbon, or flowers or anything, we have to get it ourselves, because that is not their responsibility and they only do the icing.
I am having about $130 people at my wedding, and was told that my cake, just icing, would be over $800. That is without any special designs in the icing or words on the sides of the cake. JUST ICING.
I thought the point of a wedding cake designer was to come up with something that the bride and groom love for their special day, not dicatate to them what they should be choosing.

This store was FANTASTIC. The girl who runs it is such a great help. If there is something you don't like about the dress, she will work with you to fix it. The prices are amazing. I bought my dress AND veil for $701.00 and that was not on sale. They also carry bridesmaid dresses, and have books of invitation samples that you can order.
If you order more than three bridesmaid dresses, you get a 10% discount which may not seem like much, however, I had one of my bridesmaids try on a dress here, which was priced at $130, and when we went to check out another store, it was $250.
Also I haven't had my alterations done, but when I was there trying on my dress, another girl told me that she found a dress that was a size 10 and Mylee made it into a 0 for her. So I completely trust her with my alterations.

Cochrane Ranchehouse is a hertiage building located in Cochrane, Alberta. It has various rooms to choose from, but we rented the Heritage Hall and Chinook Dining room. Heritage Hall has a stone fireplace which is just beautiful. The venue can be used as a ceremony site both inside and outside if weather permits. The event coordinators were fantastic, answered all my questions.
The only problem I had, was that they don't tell you that you can only book 18 months in advance, while non profit groups can book 2 years in advance. So I had to change my wedding date three times to get one that fit with the venue.
Also, you are limited in your choice of caterer as you much choose one that is on the supplied list.
You are not allowed candles at this venue.
