The Harbor Lights room is a very basic square ballroom with few amenities. The "lobby" is actually a bus terminal and if your guest number approaches 250-300, they can't guarantee simultaneous seating for everyone (i.e. you need to do stations or staggered dining so everyone can sit). The view from the veranda is absolutely gorgeous and if you had perfect weather, your ceremony could truly be awesome outside. Unfortunately, there is no indoor contingency plan, so you need to put a tent deposit down either way.

We visited the performing arts center when shopping for a ceremony/reception venue. The ballroom is very long and narrow and the only thing I didn't like was that the bar and dance floor are permanently set at opposite ends of the long ballroom - no negotiation. Also, if you don't book within about a year of your date, they can't guarantee you will have the beautiful atrium to hold your ceremony. We were looking earlier than that so if it came down to the day and the symphony needs the atrium for an event, that trumps yours and you have to have your ceremony in the same ballroom as the reception. If you're only looking for a reception venue, you wouldn't need to worry about this. Other than those things, the staff are very nice, the catering menu looks great, and the cocktail hour area is great.

We have not had our wedding yet, but so far, we are very impressed with DJs Unlimited. They are very upfront about pricing, special offers, and additional services and have a GREAT website that allows you to customize your entire wedding day down to every single last song if you so desired. An additional perk is a pre-wedding session with food/beverages/friends of your choice to get together with your actual DJ and have a mini run-through of the night. They also have the capabilities to offer lighted monograms on the dancefloor, a slide show, and a personal butler to the bride and groom - obviously for an additional price.

Renaissance Place is absolutely gorgeous - it was the only place we visited for a ceremony/reception site that I truly felt like a bride. My fiance was tugging at my sleeve mouthing the words "I really like this one!" but he'll probably never admit he was excited to go venue-shopping. The staff caters to your every need and decorations will be very minimal due to the beauty of the place alone.

Photojournalistic, modern, beautiful work! Their images are more like artwork than cookie-cutter wedding pictures. Added perks - engagement session included for free and all images and rights are released to you on CDs following both the engagement session and the wedding.
