I was extremely disappointed by my save the date cards from Everything for Invitations. I filled out the forms online exactly as specified with the names and dates of the wedding. At some point in the process someone at the printers decided that I had made a spelling error in my name and “fixed” it. It was not a huge error, just a small capitalization error. After already having paid for the incoming tax charges I didn’t want them to resend. They did however offer to send me new ones. After rejecting this they instead refunded me 50% of the cost. I would rate this part a 2.

However, our wedding invitations were perfect. They were exactly how they were described online. Also, the website offers to send samples of cards for a small fee, so we were able to have a good look at the choices they had to offer. Once we made our decision the ordering process was easy. Everything came within a few weeks and it all turned out perfectly. I did have an issue with my save the date cards, but the invitations were everything that we wanted. Also, you were able to order matching rsvp invitations, reply invitations, and personalized envelopes. I would rate this a 4.

We really enjoyed our rehearsal dinner at The Keg in New West, the only drawback was the fact that we were seated in the restaurant instead of the room upstairs that we had thought we had booked and paid for. The food was fantastic (as always) and the service was wonderful. We were even offered a free bottle of champagne at the end of the night to toast our wedding.

The fantastic thing about the internet is that you can pretty much find anything that you need online. I ordered our favours from www.weddingstar.ca but also ordered decorations and other odds and ends needed for the wedding from there too. There is a huge selection of favours and other wedding articles. The favours were exactly what we wanted and they even matched our invitations. On the site I was also able to pick out the filling for the favour bags. They offered such a large selection, reasonable shipping costs and times as well. I was very happy with everything I received from that site and would definitely recommend this site.

Picking out a DJ was extremely difficult because I had no experience with this type of thing. I was definitely not disappointed by picking DJ Jim. I was asked to fill out information before the wedding so that they could follow our wishes the best they could. A few days before the wedding we met up in person to just go over all the details. Jim was an excellent dj and emcee! He definitely livened things up at the party. He picked the perfect music for us and was extremely helpful with the entire flow of the wedding. I don’t think we could have found a better DJ, it was everything we wanted for our wedding.

The cake turned out exactly how I had pictured it. I sent one of my bridesmaids in with a photo and the colours that I wanted. They offered free cake sampling and offered advice on the best combinations. It turned out exactly like the picture, it tasted absolutely wonderful! And, they even delivered it wherever you needed it to be included in the price. They’re not the most common bakery for weddings I think, but it’s definitely worth a try (I recommend the chocolate/raspberry!!!!)

The space was great, the food was fantastic, I just wish I could say the same about the service. I was constantly feeling rushed when I was meeting with the people coordinating the wedding. Also, on several occasions it felt as though I was being put down, which was strange when we were talking about numbers. There was confusion with the payments (they lost a cheque, even though they had a photocopy), they gave advice on things that I didn’t want advice on, and I just didn’t feel comfortable dealing with them. However, the worst part was the treatment of us at the end of the night. People were leaving early so we decided to tone things down and just hang out and listen to music. While we were doing this the staff came in and started taking things down. They even turned on the lights! There was absolutely no consideration of the fact that we were still there and we had still paid for the space. I was incredibly disappointed by the way that we were treated.

The service on the wedding day was mediocre. We had a driver who didn’t seem to really want to talk to us. In fact, I think the only thing he said to me all day besides asking for directions was timidly saying congratulations at the end of the day. Also, there was an issue with payment which was not brought to my attention until 2 days before the wedding, even though they had assured me months before that everything had been taken care of. Also, at the last minute I was told that there was a change on the flowers on the car, and even though it looked nice they weren’t what we had originally requested. I expected much more from them than we got.

I was extremely happy with the decorations that were done for our reception from Sweet Beginnings. They created a backdrop behind the head table which included bright pink lights backlighting it (pink was one of the wedding colours). There were also chair covers, table overlays, and bows on each chair matching the table overlay. They took complete control of the setup and then again of the take down, there was nothing required from my side. It was perfect not to have to worry about the décor on the day of the wedding and wonderful thinking I didn’t have to help with the clean up as well!

If I could give a higher rating it still wouldn’t be high enough. Cora’s photography is amazing, there are no other words for it. She has an incredible eye and caught all these spaces that I would have never seen. She was extremely energetic and just as excited as I was on my wedding day. She encouraged my thoughts and followed through on our every wish for wedding photos. We have really traditional photos in gardens and then some extremely modern ones next to the skytrain and in back alleys in Vancouver. The results are absolutely stunning. And, the best part, her prices are extremely reasonable and actually on the lower side of some of the costs I have seen. Her blog also shows just how she views each and every individual wedding. She treats every one different and in turn it results in many different types of weddings. I would give her a 10 star rating if it was allowed!

I had my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages done by Bridal Beginnings. I was able to choose the flower type and the colours to match my wedding colours myself. I was also offered several options based on price. Because I was booking this from 8,000kms away we worked with photos of things that I had seen before. The end result was exactly what I was hoping for. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend Bridal Beginnings. They made it surprisingly easy to pick flowers even whilst not being able to pick them out personally.
