Not only was the food delicious, our rehearsal dinner was one of my favorite memories from the wedding. They provided four different dishes for our guests, drinks and all the bread and salad we could put away. The service was spectacular. After the rush of the rehearsal at the church, it was SO nice to sit around with all of our loved ones (we asked everyone who was in town to come) and relax and chat. Because the wedding feels like such a blur, it is the time spent with family at the rehearsal that really meant a lot to us.

The only downfall was because we had so many people, it took FOREVER for the food to come and we were quite hungry!

We had such an amazing, tranquil time in Indio. The condo was beautiful, very private and a lot more homey than a hotel room. There was hardly anyone at the two pools and absolutely no noise! We could rent movies, eat at the on-site pizza parlor or simply float down the lazy river that surrounded the complex. Worldmark is the way to go! We even drove over to LA for a night, stayed in another Worldmark condo and went to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. They made check in so easy, and we were only a short drive from all of the 5 cities in the Palm Desert. So much fun!

We had a gorgeous room at the Paramount Hotel in downtown Portland the night of the wedding. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was huge and the lobby was gorgeous. We had to wait for our bags in the lobby for about half an hour and it was a gorgeous place to wait. The hotel is so classy and romantic! The service was also great, as we had been stuck in a double room with queen beds, and they upgraded us to a suite with a King for free. They also handled getting our wedding gear to our family members the next morning with great ease. It was truly the perfect place to stop off before we hit the airport in the morning!

Another friend, who leads worship at a church in Silverton, Evan, agreed to sing 2 worship songs, and a song that he had written ESPECIALLY for our wedding! His voice is amazing, and it made the ceremony that much more special! He has done MANY of our mutual friends’ weddings in the last few years and is a really great, laid back performer.

He is also a beautiful song writer, and I know, is always looking for avenues to promote his music. He was willing to work with our time schedules and learned to play the songs we wanted. He was great!

A friend of mine’s Dad is the main videographer of B Unit, and brought his son and nephew to help. They have done the highlight videos for our college basketball team the last four years and have preserved such special memories for us! We also watched a wedding video he did right before we hired him and it was so beautiful it made both of us SO excited to get married. It’s nice to have someone who knows you personally be your videographer because they know what is especially important to capture!

We have yet to see the video, but I hardly noticed them the whole day, and that made it AWESOME!

Shaun is the pastor of our home church in Newberg, OR and we loved having him! He made the service so personal and customized. We got TONS of compliments on how “us” the ceremony was. We also went through pre-marital counseling with him and his wife, who we have known for about four years, and had a wonderful experience.

I highly recommend getting to know the officiant who will perform your ceremony. It just makes it that much more special to have someone you know there at such a special moment. I’m not sure if Shaun would be willing to do a ceremony if it wasn’t at his home church, but you could always try!

We had a terrible time finding a church to get married in that was close to our reception site (which we picked first). Most churches only allow members, or charge outrageous funds to non-members. Though the price was high to get Portland Foursquare, they were so flexible and wonderful to work with. The church’s wedding planner Michelle was so organized and on top of things I didn’t have to worry about anything! The rehearsal was so easy and quick and the wedding ceremony went off without a hitch. Though the church wasn’t idyllic by any means, they helped us set it up and it looks wonderful in all of our photos. They also allowed us to take photos outside on their beautiful front lawn. The photos turned out awesome! Apparently our wedding is the last they are going to do for a while, however.

I picked my usual hair stylist, Autumn, to do my hair for the wedding, not knowing if she would be any good at up-do’s, but it turned out perfect! Not only was my hair perfect, the bridesmaid’s hair look gorgeous and exactly as I had pictured.

Platinum got all of us done WAY early and they served us breakfast with pastries, fresh fruit and mimosas. They had six stylists there for us so we could all get our hair done at the same time. They were so excited for us and really made it a special experience! I was SO happy with how everyone’s hair turned out! It was the perfect pre-wedding environment.

My fiancé purchased my engagement ring at Shane Co., and it arrived from Seattle within two days. He was able to get the ring and the wedding band for less than he expected and was very satisfied with their service. I love it, and they helped him find exactly the type of ring he knew I would like.

I also purchased his ring there, and though it was a little more than I would have to liked to have paid, we both really like it. It has held up far better than some of our friends’ rings. When I went to get my ring cleaned before the wedding they re-plated it with white gold, for free! Excellent service and a lifetime warrantee.

My fiancé wanted to look for tuxes at a cool boutique store downtown, but after looking at prices, decided against it. MW also had the colors (Tiffany Blue & Red) that we wanted for the guys’ vests and ties. We spent 45 minutes in the shop picking everything out and they gave us a great discount. We even had to make some last minute changes, and they were very accommodating.

Everything worked out great, the boys looked dashing and the colors matched and most of it fit perfectly. The only issue was the price; we felt they were a little expensive for the quality of fabric.
