For LDS brides, choice of the temple you'll attend is one of the first decisions you'll make. I've always had a special fondness for Nauvoo - since a youth conference trip there. It's a beautiful temple, and well worth the trip to get there.

We spent our honeymoon evening at the inn. We were one of only two couples. Besides being within walking distance of the Nauvoo temple, the rooms were beautiful. We had a welcome basket full of snacks and goodies, a rose, sparkling grape juice and glasses, and everything we could have wanted. The bedding was soft and luxurious. We're definitely looking forward to a return trip.

For my bachlorette "party" I decided to have a day of pampering at Shamas. I got a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrows done. It was so relaxing! I recommend the spa pedicure. It was the best!

Wedding dress. The most cost effective place I found where I could get a beautiful temple gown for the wedding ceremony. Very easy to order, track package, and great customer service. I got my dress 2 days after ordering, without paying for any extra shipping.

The in -laws sprung for the cake. We had a three tier white cake. They came and set it up, and I was able to fill the gaps between the tiers with the same flowers I used for the bouquet. Sunshine colored day lilies. It made for a drastic, beautiful contrast. The cake was wonderfully moist - delicious frosting and filling. We were quite pleased. They also made a sheet cake, and airbrushed one of our wedding photos on to it. (We had been married 2 weeks before the reception.)

We made our own wedding favors out of plastic containers filled with candy, and topped with bows. Hobby Lobby sells all sorts of containers that makes it easy to create your own wedding favors for a LOT less than ordering them.

The best BBQ in toledo. It was an unorthodox place to hold a rehersal dinner, but it's easy to get a large party seated. We ordered several of their platters that feed more than one. Absolutely delicious!

Walk - in appointments made it very convenient to squeeze in the extra people that showed up for pictures. Very cost effective for the style I selected.

Delicious pastas. The meal included two pastas, plus a lasanga, 2 salads, breads. The service was exceptional.

Spent approximately $25 on silk flowers and made all of my own bouquets and wedding decorations. Good quality, color, value, and variety.
