My plan all along was not to have a DJ, and to use my iPod for music and our ushers as emcees. What we needed was the sound equipment. We contacted a few places, but all of them (except Golden Sound) would not let us rent their equipment without the use of a DJ. Steve came through for us and was so nice about it.

There was a little confusion at the beginning, that he wasn't sure if he was supposed to emcee or not. He came around a little frazzled asking for the wedding party names, dance songs, etc. We got it straightened out and he was very understanding that we had it all taken care of.

Not only did he allow us to use his sound equipment, but he also brought along a lot of lighting for the room. It was something I hadn't thought about at all, but it really made the room look more elegant and decorated.

The location is great. The roped off their private section of the beach for the ceremony. The ceremony was at 7:00 so the beach really wasn't too busy anyway. The catering staff in general was great to work with...I appreciate that they are so down to earth/laid back, maybe sometimes a little scattered, but I had a really good experience overall.

The coordinator didn't come to the rehearsal, which was fine, but then tried to tell us what to do once he showed up. We just let him know that we took care of everything and it was fine.

They let us into the Laguna room early the day of the wedding, giving us plenty of time to set up, helping us with different details in the room, and let us cleap up the next day. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL, and I wish I could find the wine we had, just delicious. Would recommend this place for either ceremony or reception or both!

I absolutely loved my time with her at my trial. I had left photos at the hotel, but described what I was looking for. We looked through pictures on her computer to find an example, and we went with it. It looked great! She listened to what I had to say/changes I wanted to make for the wedding day, and it was exactly what I wanted. My husband was blushing when he saw me for the first time (a blushing groom?) :) She's so sweet and fun to work with, and both my bridesmaids were happy with how their hair looked and stayed for the night.

Just completely blown away by the work they have done. Our engagement pictures were astounding, and our wedding pictures were no different. We were so happy to be able to meet them for the engagement session, and the work we saw really convinced us that we had chosen the best possible photographers. Gene and Linda are SO easy to get along with. They made both of us feel comfortable, feel like models, in front of the camera.

Wedding day, they got there right when we asked (even with all the crazy holiday traffic!) Both of us, as well as all our friends and family just loved how professional and kind they were!

They put teasers on their blog the very next day (4th of July!), and got our proofs on the website within about a week! They really captured us, our personalities and what we pictured our day to be. We didn't think we could afford an album, but we just have to have one after seeing their work and knowing what it will look like.

Melia met with us for a consultation in March. She was very receptive to what we wanted, and had a lot of pictures and suggestions when we weren't sure about a particular detail.

I'm a little sad I didn't get to see her when she delivered the flowers on wedding day, because I really wanted to tell her how beautiful everything looked. She did a fantastic job with my bouquet of callas and gerbera daisies. The bridesmaids' bouquets were bright and fun. The arch was my husbands deal (I didn't care what it looked like), and he just loved what she did and how she had listened to what he wanted. All of the boutonnières and corsages turned out the way I imagined, and everyone was just really happy with the way everything looked and held up through the night (no wilting or browning that anyone could find!).

We didn't do any shopping around-Melia was our first and only choice, so I don't have any kind of price comparison. We had a huge flower/greenery arch (the bulk of the cost), 2 bridesmaids and 1 bridal bouquet, 13 boutonnières, 7 corsages, rose petals for the aisle, and decorations for the cake/cake table. We didn't do any centerpieces for the reception. The final cost was around $1,200. Meet with her and find out what a cost might be for your wedding. It's worth it, she just does great work, and is great to work with!

We went and had a tasting with Linda in March. We were confused on dates, but she accommodated us and got everything ready for a spur-of-the-moment tasting in about 5 minutes. We were able to try a lot of different flavors, and it was quickly apparent that Linda was extremely talented. It was some of the most delicious cake I've ever had, so far from the generic white cake that anyone could make.

We went with a French butter cake filled with lemon fromage (at the tasting, she just did this by adding fresh lemon zest to the vanilla bean...it was AMAZING!), and French Satin Buttercream frosting. We had two tiers, one round, one square. Our guests obviously couldn't get enough of it, because it was all gone by the end.

The design of it wasn't what we had talked about, but I think it worked out for the better because it ended up matching the ruching on my dress. I did a poor job of communicating with her, so I feel like she did a great job with the little information provided.

We decided to go with Ken because we wanted someone who really believed the message they would deliver at our wedding. Planning our wedding long distance could have made it difficult to find an officiant who could make our ceremony really fit "us" and our personalities. A few phone conversations with Ken and one meeting (at Starbucks :) no less) left us feeling completely comfortable and excited about the decision to use his services.

Ken was very fun and kind, all of our friends and family just loved his personality and the way he fit right into our fun, relaxed beach wedding. He helped us feel very relaxed while he delivered a great message about love, faith, and forgiveness. I would gladly recommend him to another couple!
