We are so happy we had our wedding at the Balboa Yacht Club. Because we aren't members, we had a family friend who is a member sponsor us. We looked at a TON of places before finding this local gem and were shocked at how great the package was that Russell put together for us. The ceremony site looks over the water, as does the cocktail hour. The reception room has full glass windows so you can look out on the harbor as you dance. We had New York Steak and Seabass for dinner, both of which were excellent. Russell was extremely accomodating and let us hang lanterns, hang a sign over the fireplace, add twinkle lights outside. Basically everything we wanted to do, he worked with us in making it happen. The room was gorgeous and the ceremony outside was breathtaking. It was really nice for us to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the same venue with so much family in from out of town. There wasn't a single thing we would change, we loved it!

Jenny B is incredibly talented and easy to work with. I came in with a small budget and some ideas of what I was looking for but nothing concrete. She did 6 huge floral centerpieces for us, with light blue satin boxes and even had nautical rope and a starfish around them to tie into our beach theme. My bouquet was all spider mums, exactly what I wanted and I LOVED it. We couldn't have been happier with the flowers she did; it was way more than we expected with our budget. Everything was absolutely beautiful.

Natalie did my wedding day hair and make up as well as 7 bridesmaids. She was excellent. I loved my both my hair and make up at my trial, and she made it even more gorgeous on the big day. I brought inspiration photos for both and she nailed it. All of my bridesmaids were happy with the job she did, and they all looked great. She was on time, efficient and a lot fun to work with. I HIGHLY recommend her!

This band is awesome. We hired the cellist and violinist to play for our ceremony and cocktail hour and the full band for the reception. They were amazing, our guests were on the dance floor the ENTIRE NIGHT. We didn't even finish half our rounds saying hello when we looked at the other part of the room and all the tables were empty because they were already out dancing. Matt is a phenomenal singer and he even learned "Lonestar" so they could do our first dance. I couldn't have been happier with them. I would recommend them wholeheartedly, they were worth every penny.

I just went to Castle for Brides today on a whim, as I saw it on my way to another bridal store. I stopped in and it was the Grand Re-opening! They were providing brides with Free Hair and Make-up (you had to sign up online), a 2 be Mon Cheri Trunk Show, and a raffle for give-aways. Wendi, one of the new owners, helped me and was absolutely fantastic. I picked my own dresses on the first run, and as I tried them on and realized what I liked and disliked, she would pull additional dresses for me. She was very pleasant as I sorted through about 11 different gowns. I ended up liking a gown by Essense of Australia, one that I wouldn't have tried on without her prompting. I highly recommend stopping into this store, as they have great service and a lot of different trunk shows coming up. Ask for Wendi, she was a delight!
