Theresa did an amazing job photographing our wedding! She managed to capture all of the moments throughout the day without being invasive or in your face like some photographers; and, it was so much fun for us to look at the pictures and re-live the day and see things that we missed too. She's got a real talent for taking candid shots and we've received so many compliments on how gorgeous our photos are.
We were engaged for a year and a half and throughout our very long planning process, she was always so helpful and quick to respond. Leading up to the day, she even met up with us to scope out some spots, and was calm and professional the day of, which helped ease some of my nerves since a lot of other people around me were full of them!
If you want high quality, beautiful photojournalistic photos, I highly recommend Theresa. Looking back on it, I can definitely say I wouldn't have wanted any other photographer to document our big day!
Ryan was absolutely amazing! I had two makeup trials that were terrible prior to finding Ryan and had given up hope on being able to find a MUA who knew how to work with Asian eyes, and was ready to do my own makeup the day of.
After seeing the rave reviews on her, I figured I'd give it one last shot and booked a trial with her. Everything about the trial was perfect! She enhanced my eyes and gave definition to my face while still making me look like "me" and not overdone. I knew I had to book her immediately!
On our wedding day, she did 2 of my bridesmaids' makeup, my mom's, and mine. She was super efficient with time and we were actually ahead of schedule. None of us felt rushed though, and we all looked fabulous! The makeup she used lasted ALL day and was sweatproof (we got married outside on a rooftop deck) and tear proof, and we looked just as polished by the end of the night as we did in the morning.
I definitely recommend Ryan for anyone looking for a talented, affordable, and super cool makeup artist!
Hiring Sharokina as our DOC was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding day. We hired her about 3 months prior to our wedding and she was extremely helpful during those crucial last few "crunch time" months. She made herself accessible via phone, email, and in person whenever we needed her. She was always super fast to respond and very thorough.
Shar ensured that our wedding day was stress free by setting up and tearing down all of our DIY projects, she dealt with vendors, organized family members and the bridal party, and kept us on schedule throughout the day.
I interviewed several wedding planners during our search. None of them exhibited the professionalism and left me feeling as comfortable to hand over the reigns as Shar did. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a fabulous and trustworthy event planner!
Georgia is an amazingly talented graphic artist, and I'm so glad to have found her. She designed my wedding invitations for me and I couldn't be happier. Not only was she always quick to respond to emails, her turn around time was extremely fast and the quality of her work was fabulous. She paid great attention to detail, and took the time to work with me on any edits I needed or wanted made without limiting the number of edits as some designers do.
I would definitely recommend Georgia for all of your design needs!

Chef Paul's is one of the best catering companies I've worked with yet. They catered a friend of mine's wedding and the food was delicious. When it came time to plan on my own wedding, I called Chef Paul. Ginger was a pleasure to work with. Not only was she fast with responses, she really took the time to cater the menu to us and what we were looking for, and within our budget. We ended up going with a venue that provided in house catering, but after a change in management and a price increase, we went back to Chef Paul in case we had to find a new caterer.
Again, they took the time to provide us with an updated and enormous menu with a variety of choices within our budget, and excellent customer service. Because we couldn't find another venue with our same date that allowed outside catering, we ended up going to a different one that also comes with an in house caterer, and will not be using Chef Paul for our catering needs. We will, however, be using them for our delicious wedding cake. If I had to do this all over again, Chef Paul would be the first and only place I would go. I am happy to recommend them to anyone who is looking for great food and great service.
Calihan Catering has been in business for over 21 years. They're very established within the Chicagoland region and cater to some magnificent venues, which is why I am completely surprised at how poor their customer service is.
I had booked with a public venue in November of 2008. Since then, the venue I booked with has become privatized, and will be managed and catered by Calihan Catering.
Upon my initial meeting with the VP and marketing director (Lee Calihan), she had assured me that the original prices/package inclusions that I had signed my contract under would be honored. However, after receiving an updated proposal from them, with the new pricing structure and additional fees, the overall total price change was close to $4,500 above the original pricing under the old management. Items that were once included in the package were omitted in the new package and fees that didn't exist before were tacked on. Phone calls and emails went unreturned for months, until I finally filed a claim with the BBB. Even then, it took months to resolve anything and to get my original deposit back.
I know to a company as large as Calihan, the revenue they would make from my wedding is just pocket change. However, to me and many other brides out there, budget matters. One would hope that they would see more than dollar signs, but after my experience with them thus far, I have reason to believe otherwise.
