I met with Divine Linens in Manchester NH to rent chair covers. I had contacted a couple other companies and their prices were the lowest. It is a husband and wife run company, and they were both very friendly and helpful. They make many of their table linens and chair covers, so if you have a certain fabric or color you are looking for they can do something custom for you.
I was using a very bold lime green color for my chair cover sashes so I didnt want to over do the color. I asked Jay, one of the owners if I should do table runners also, and was surprised to have him tell me it would be too much color and to NOT do runners. In an industry where it feels sometimes where every penny is being taken, here was a vendor SAVING me money at his cost! That impressed me immensely.
The covers were applied timely, they were pressed and clean. I was very pleased with Divine linens.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Portsmouth Country Club in Greenland NH. We had attended a couple weddings there in the last couple years before our wedding. When we went to see the venue for our own appointment we were VERY excited to see that the ballroom had been renovated. The decor is now pretty much a blank slate. In the years before it was much more 'golf' like in the ball room. If you have not been there within the least year or so,be sure to keep the Portsmouth Country Club on your list of venues!
We met with Sue and Kevin who are both banquet coordinators. They both were pleasant and very helpful. I needed a banquet manager, and not a social director, so this did not bother me. Emails were returned within hours of me sending one. I communicated mostly through email with them, and it worked great.
The food was better at our wedding than at our tsting. We were satisfied with our food at the tasting, but were thrilled with how it tasted at our wedding. The day of, Kevin and Sue( the banquet managers) were AWESOME. They really kept things moving smoothly, and worked well with the outside coordinator I had hired.
We also had our ceremony there. It was planned for an outdoor ceremony, and since it had rained for TWELVE days prior to our wedding, we were worried. They di not rush us on the decision to move it indoors. They told us we could have until 3 hours before the ceremony to make a choice. I appreciated this very much, because it really put them at an inconvenience trying to set all the chairs up that close to the wedding.
The next day, Sue helped us pack our candy buffet supplies and chatted with us about our wedding. It was so nice of her! Day of I felt like Sue and Kevin really were going the extra mile for us! I like that they only have ONE wedding a day, so you can pcik whatever time block you want to have your wedding. We were not rushed at the end of the night because of this, and did not have to worry about sharing bathrooms or the deck with other weddings.
For the price you pay at the PCC, I felt the service and food were great. The seacoast is a VERY expensive place to get married, and the PCC is a great way to get alot for your dollar!

I used Dan Griffiths on the recommendation of a friend. We knew immediately upon meeting Dan that we wanted him to marry us. He has a genuine warmth about him. You really feel like he is excited to marry you. In an industry where most vendors treat you like a customer, Dan treats you like a friend. Over the course of the planning period, he had us so excited for our ceremony, just by listening to him describe it! When I would ask "Do people usually do ___?", He kept telling us that it was "our' ceremony, and we could do whatever we would like. He was full of unique and traditional suggestions for readings and vows when we asked for them, and complimented us on the ones we picked out. MANY people told us that it was as if he knew us during our ceremony.
I could not have been happier with Dan. Several friends of mine have gone on to meet him for their upcoming weddings, and they all have liked him also.

I purchased my diamond for my engagement ring, mand both our wedding bands here. I was thrilled with the level of service they provided. The two co-owners, Airial and Chrissy were both incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They both were married within the last couple of years, and were alwys willing to offer advice about their weddings if I asked for it.
I brought in a fake diamond band I had purchased from a retail shop. They were able to relpicate it EXACTLY in real diamonds for my wedding band. Chrissy offered to stay open late so that I could pick up my bands the day thay came in since she knew I couldnt wait another day for them! :)
The best part is that they allowed me to borrow jewelery for my wedding from the store! I was dripping in borrowed diamonds (earrings and bracelet) for the wedding. talk about a great something borrowed!
I felt so much more confident in the service in this store than any other large chain out there.

I worked with Deb for my AUgust wedding on the recommendation of three other friends. Hiring Deb was the BEST decision I made. After the wedding is over, all you have left are pictures. She arrived early to the site where the girls and I were getting ready. As soon as she walked in, it was SNAP SNAP SNAP for the next 8+ hours. She took pictures of everything!
She was easy to be around and laughed and joked with all of us through the pre-wedding photos like she was an old friend. We were speicific that we didnt want to do anything that we deemed 'cheesy', and she worked around that and still captured so really fun shots.
Being a photjournalist she works with the emotions of the day. She captured some pictures of things , that I didnt even remember happening. I was so overwhelmed to see picturs of things I didnt know she got pictures of. Deb was everywhere but nowhere at the same time. Our guests were calling her our 'commando photographer' because she was laying on her stomahc during the ceremony to get some shots of us!!!
Our photos arrived to us within three weeks. We have a disc of all the photos in the 'album' she puts together and then some. She has all the photos ALSO in black and white on the disc so you can see what they would look like that way if you chose to print some in black and white.
Deb is worth every penny you pay. Her prices are VERY reasonable compared to all other photographers and for the product you get. I cant say enough about her, and her work. HIRE DEB! you wont regret it!

Gayle Forte runs Let them eat cake out of her home in Kennebunkport, ME. I had one of her cakes at a friends wedding last year, and knew we HAD to have the same cake.
She is very business like in emails and on the phone, which to me was a little intimidating since I didnt really know what I wanted. I told her our colors, and our preference for butter cream, and she emailed me three sketches within an hour of things she thought we may like.
I was very pleased with her service, and the cake was AMAZING. White cake with almond extract and a rasberry filling. Ive had 'so-so' wedding cake in the past, but THIS is no so-so wedding cake. Shes an amazing baker and an amazing designer.

Dont be intimidated hiring a wedding planner! They arent all expensive, and their services are priceless!!!
Kristin Augusta, of Magic Wand Events, was my wedding planner. I was very pleased with her services. She was my day-of-coordinator, which also included the two weeks prior to the wedding. She confirmed all my wedding vendors for me, and told them when they needed to be on site.
She also designed my candy favor box stickers and our table numbers. Kristin kept me on scheduele not only the two weeks leading up to the wedding, but in the months before. She would send me little 'reminder' emails letting me know what needed to be done for each month, which helped IMMENSELY!
Day of, she arrived on site very early and began making sure everyone and everything was exactly as I had pictured it. As soon as we arrived at the venue she just appeared and was anxious to let me know, that everything was going very well. It wasnt until after the wedding was over that I realized I never ONCE thought about the venue while we were getting ready for the wedding. I knew she had everything under control.
Kristin came to rehearsal the night before and ran it flawlessly. She said to me when we left for dinner "If you need anything, you call me", and with that I Knew she was in control of the day. She didnt make me feel pressured to make a weather decision until the last minute...I really wanted an outdoor wedding, and with all the rain we had we knew that may not be possible. She emailed me and assured me that it was up to me, and she would make whatever we wanted to happen, happen. That is a priceless feeling.
Kristin stayed until the end of the reception (about a 10 hour+ hour day for her) even though I told her she could leave! She kept saying "No, I'm here til the end".
My one regret with using Kristins services is that I didnt use them enough! She is a wealth of knowledge and ideas, and I wish I had relied on her help more. I know she would have gladly helped with more projects if I had only asked her. I tried to keep her job simple, and I wish I had picked her brain more for things. She has a knack for weddings and party planning, so if you hire Kristin--USE IT!
I couldnt be happier with the job she did for our wedding.

Michelle and Talia did hair and makeup for my wedding in August. I went to Michelle with a couple pictures of what I thought I wanted. We did my first trial and it looked EXACTLY like the picture I brought in. I couldnt get over how much it looked like the photo! However, ad the day wore on and I wore the hair do around my house. I realized it wasnt the hair do for me...I sheepishly called the salon to scheduele another trial. I got Talia on the phone who INSTANTLY put me at ease that I needed another trial. She made me feel so fine with the fact that I wasnt happy with 'the look' the first time around.
I went in for another trial run and Michelle made me feel like it was OK to stay in the chair until I was happy...which I did! ( I have trouble being assertive!)
I was adding people to have their hair done right up until the wedding, and Talia and Michelle just kept responding "No problem". They arrived early day of the wedding and immediately got to work. They were able to set up shop in our VERY small hotel room. Talia kept us in stitches telling story after story...shes the type of person who makes you feel like you've known her forever. I felt so comfortable around Michelle and Talia, and highly recommend them to anyone whos looking for a great hair and makeup team.
I felt their fees were on the higher end for bridal hair and makeup, but were in no way out of the realm of what you would pay. Their fees for bridesmaids and mother of the bride were exactly the same as many other places we looked.
Talia and Michelle made us feel like we had girlfriends doing our hair and makeup...day of the wedding, when you are stressed and nervous and excited...that feeling is priceless!

I couldnt have been happier with Lyndsey Loring for my wedding in August. I met with her a couple times, I gave her some photos for inspiration, and then some vague ideas about what I wanted. Well, let me tell you, the inspiration photos, she emmulated PERFECTLY, and my descriptions for inspiration, she nailed.
HEr prices are well below the average for the NH seacoast area. She has a studio out of her home, so shes able to keep her costs low. Being a bride herself in recent years I feel like she knows what brides are looking for in terms of style and design. In the days leading up to my wedding, I kept adding and subtracting things and every request or change was met with a "No problem" and a smiley face!
On the day of our wedding, we realized our cake looked very plain. Well The set up person went out of her way to find some extra petals etc to add to our cake. It meant alot to me that she was trying to make something, that she wasnt hired to do, perfect for me!
Lyndsey is an amzing designed an such a kind person. She was 100% the easiest vendor we worked with.
