Our venue has a preferred vendor list and Amos was one of them. They sent out a special lighting package for our venue which I thought was a reasonable price. I contacted them and asked if I could get a customized package since I was only looking for some uplighting and breakout pattern (nothing too elaborate). They were willing to work with my budget and so I decided to contract with them. I booked them early on, and when it was getting closer to the wedding, I still had not heard from them regarding choosing the color and the breakout pattern. I contacted them and apparently the person that I was working with was no longer with the company. I ended up working directly with Jody, the owner, who was very nice and helpful. On the day of, they came and setup and the lights were beautiful. They also worked very seamlessly, I didn't even know when they came to setup and when they did the breakdown, all I knew was I had beautiful lighting and it was gone by the time I left the venue :)
A fellow PW friend recommended Big Fun DJ. They've received glowing reviews from all their clients and now I understand why. They were very responsive, very professional, and did a really great job! I was originally in contact with Henry Kim, who invited us to come to a bridal show. They put us on the guest list so we did not need to pay the entrance fee. We then met with Paul Burchfield at the bridal show and really liked him and decided to contract with Big Fun DJ. Their prices were very reasonable, too! Paul was very easy to communicate with, had really great suggestions about our timeline, and was very organized. Paul and Big Fun DJ were truly wonderful, and I highly recommend them!

I really loved my experience at Unique, from beginning to end. Julie was my consultant and she's so sweet and very helpful. Unique was the third bridal salon I visited during my wedding gown search, so I already had an idea of what I was looking for. In fact, I already fell in love with 2 dresses which they both carried. Julie was really patient during the whole visit, allowing me to try the 2 dresses, plus a lot more so I could be sure of my decision. It was here that I realized that my dress was the one. The dress came on time, and when I tried it on they realized that there were loops with no buttons (not their fault), and they took care of the mistake which was really the manufacturer's mistake at no cost (even though I was not doing my alterations there).
We were looking for a place to get our wedding bands and a couple of friends recommended Derco. We went there on a weekend and Derco was packed. I almost didn't want to wait but then decided to wait a little longer. If a place is that packed, they must be doing something right. We finally met with a consultant who was very helpful. They were able to custom make our rings within a reasonable time for us based on what we described, and they turned out beautiful. Pricing was also reasonable. They were also very good with cleaning my ring every time we visited. Overall we're very happy with them.

Ever since I got in touch with Rona, I knew something felt right. Her prices were wonderful and she replied to email almost instantaneously (which I LOVED - and trust me this is not the norm with wedding vendors). I read reviews about her and noted nothing but glowing reviews. I booked her and I knew my family will be in great hands during the wedding day. On the wedding day, I only met her briefly but she was such a sweetheart. My family looked wonderful and they told me they really enjoyed Rona and her assistant. I highly recommend Rona if you are looking for a great, reliable, reasonably priced make up artist!

We got married at Garre Winery's Martinelli Event Center. The Martinelli Event Center is a beautiful venue, nestled in Livermore's wine country. As soon as we toured the location, I had a gut feeling that this is where I wanted to have my wedding. The garden area overlooking the vineyards was the perfect location for the outdoor ceremony. It's so beautiful already it didn't really need much decoration. The courtyard would be perfect for the cocktail hour, and the reception hall was a good size. Their price was surprisingly reasonable, and actually included the lovely chiavari chairs! We went to eat at the cafe that day just to see if we would like the food, and we did! They assigned a venue coordinator, Alanna who was great to work with! She was pretty accommodating of our requests and was very helpful during the day of. I was originally skeptical about booking this venue, and was a bit worried because of some not-so-good reviews posted about Garre, but I learned to take everything with a grain of salt and ended up having a really good experience with Garre.

Sherrie is also another vendor that I found from a friend's recommendation. I checked out her website and was blown away by her portfolio. She does makeup for Hollywood artists and fashion magazines, so I was almost immediately sold :) Her name was also mentioned a couple of times on various wedding forums so I knew she must be pretty good. What sold me was after I saw her makeup on two fellow Project Wedding brides, I LOVED how their hair and makeup looked. I booked her early on (even prior to our trial) since she books really fast. She really listened to me while also providing input based on her experience on what would work best with my features. I got married during a pretty windy day and the hair stayed up the whole night! She also had this spray that made the makeup stay the whole night. Her makeup also photographs really well. I highly recommend Sherrie!
I love cakes and desserts, so I know that I had to find a really great cake vendor for my wedding. We went to a couple cake places but I was not blown away by any of them. I came across Edith's website one day and loved her philosophy: organic, fresh ingredients, fair trade chocolate, homegrown lemon, etc. I contacted her about tasting and noted that she charges a fee for tasting, but that it would be absorbed as part of the wedding cake cost if you end up booking with her. The tasting was set at her cute house. The ambiance was really nice! (she set background music playing while we taste). I could totally taste how FRESH her cake was. I have always wanted a red velvet cake for my wedding, and as soon as she told me that she doesn't use food coloring and instead uses beets/radishes for the red color, I was SOLD! Cake was absolutely delicious and Edith was a pleasure to work with.

When I was looking for a florist, a friend of mine recommended Jeeryn. I set up a meeting with her and knew almost immediately that I wanted to go with her. She has this very calm persona and I felt that she was able to get my vision. After our meeting, she sent a quote that thoroughly described all the things we discussed. I felt that I was in safe hands since sometimes most vendors forget a lot of things that were discussed. I changed my mind many many times during the planning process, but Jeeryn was very patient and updated the contracts accordingly. I also really appreciated her responsiveness. Every time I sent an email, it seemed like she replied very promptly (which is rare for wedding vendors). The day of, the flowers were so beautiful! We got sooo many compliments. I highly recommend Jeeryn!
I have been looking for a unique Save The Date idea for a while but have not been able to find one that I really like. One day when I was browsing a wedding planner's blog, I came across a very unique & personalized Save The Date @ PosePrints. I thought the idea was so cute, and I love the idea that I can personalize the "poses".
Before placing my order, I contacted Jen with a couple questions. She replied to my email very quickly, and answered all my questions. I placed the order, and I even asked for a couple customizable features for me & my fiance, and Jen was able to incorporate my requests into the magnets. I asked for a final proof before the final printing, and she did just that to make sure I agreed with the final product. The overall process was very stress-free. I highly recommend Jen and PosePrints if you are looking for a cute customizable Save The Dates. She does other fun invitations also (for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, etc).
