It took us forever to decide on a honeymoon. We needed something affordable and we wanted to go someplace warm and tropical. Someone suggested a cruise and after researching all of the cruise lines we found Carnival to be the most affordable. We narrowed it down to the cheapest port to fly to and we wanted a Carribbean cruise. Our agent was great to work with and we loved the Glory so much we are going back next year on the exact same cruise. The locations were gorgeous and we had the most amazing vacation. It was my first time cruising and they made it a wonderful experience. We even talked our friends getting married in April to go on the same cruise.
Everyone is still talking about how wonderful our cake tasted. We could not afford a very expensive tiered cake that most weddings have. They gave us the great idea of ordering 3 separate cakes for way less. They did a great job on our budget and used our 3 tiered cake stand we provided. I gave them a general idea of what I wanted and they went above and beyond. They delivered it on time and were great at responding quickly to questions. They let us try whatever flavors we wanted and when we had trouble deciding on a third flavor he suggested one that would compliment the other two we had decided on. They were super friendly and their food too is also great. I wish we had used them for our caterer because of their wonderful customer service. We will be going back for our anniversary and getting a small cake to celebrate.
We arranged a tasting and fell in love with the food. They did great working within our budget and did very well at remembering food allergies that I, the bride had. The food was displayed beautifully. I think they took it away too quickly though. We agreed on them providing a bride's basket with a sample of all of the food and it ended up we only got some of what was left at the end. They held our cake for us though and we were able to pick it up the next day. They did a great job at figuring out our menu and working within our budget. They said setting up our simple centerpieces would not be a problem and their helpers refused on the day of. Family members ended up having to set up everything and I was disappointed on Kelly's not following through on this. Communication was not great with this vendor and it took longer than most vendors to respond to an e-mail or phone call.
Our contract changed with the aquarium and we then had to find our own chair rentals. Chairs were not a big concern and I did not want to spend a lot of money. I needed a company that would deliver, set up and pick up the chairs and many of vendors provided this. Although many companies would not provide Sunday pick up which Shindigs did. We found them last minute and our e-mail was answered very quickly and they found us the best chairs in our budget and told us Sunday pick up was no problem. I never had to worry about this vendor because everything was taken care of and done wonderfully.
He was very affordable. The ceremony was perfect. Communication was not that great. A song supposed to be dedicated to my mother was played when we weren't even in the room. I should have been more clear on sticking to music on my play list only but I didn't think that would be an issue. I gave him a list of things that needed to be done (toast, garter and bouqet toss, cutting of the cake) and he said he would space them out for us. We ended up having to tell him when to do these things. You get what you pay for and while I was over all pretty satisfied a few things I would have had differently. We did get a great deal though and only paid $400 for our ceremony and reception. I would highly recommend him for his ceremony work but I would definitely spell things out for EXACTLY how you want the reception.
We had a few choices in mind for limo vendor and when we found out this company had a promotion where if we used them and Reflections Salon we got a free ride to and fron the salon we were hooked. I had inquired about an 8 person limo and it was booked so they upgraded me to the SUV limo for no additional charge. They arrived early and knew exactly where they were going. He opened our champagne for us and was very fun to work with. He told us he would bring back a town car for us after the wedding but actually picked us up in the SUV limo. It was very comfortable and clean and I highly recommend working with them.
Kristin works out of Va but travels to NC. She was recommended to me by another bride on the knot. She is very affordable and was great to work with. We traveled to Virginia beach for our engagement pictures and after getting them back I knew my wedding pictures would be great. I look at my wedding pictures almost everyday. She took my must take list and did not miss one. She got a lot of great candid shots. She is very good about getting back to e-mails and phone calls. She has a lot of great plan prices but will work within your budget. When I wasn't happy with some of the pictures in my album it was no problem getting them switched out for other ones.
I ordered online and picked the day before the wedding to have them arrive because of what I had heard about flowers being dead on the wedding day. After I ordered they called to confirm info and helped me pick a better date to have them delivered. They assured me that two days before the wedding they flowers would be fine. They arrived on time and then I even received a call to make sure I was happy with my order. The flowers were gorgeous and arrived perfect. On my wedding day they were all open and looking amazing. Everyone kept asking who my florist was and was surprised to find out they were ordered online. We had gerbera daisies and hydrangea and they looked beautiful.
We met Rev. Del at the Obx bridal show and immediately knew he was the one. He has a great sense of humor and had us laughing the whole time. His website gives great ideas for ceremony wording and we got the great idea of doing a sand ceremony instead of a candle one. We had been worried about the wind and did not even know a sand ceremony existed. He did a great job at personalizing our ceremony and he even had it printed up for us as a memento. The only reason he gets 4 starts instead of 5 is at the rehearsal he didn't really lead it and we ended doing most of the leading ourselves.
The aquarium was a very unique location for a wedding. The water was beautiful and perfect for the ceremony. The guests loved dancing in front of the shark tank. Communication with this vendor was not the best. We had two different wedding coordinators throughout and I think sometimes information was mixed up between the two of them. They have a new contract and allowed us to keep our old one or switch to the new one. The new one did not save us that much money but we got 5 hours for the price of 4. We had our final meeting a day or two before the wedding. We specifically talked to Michelle about the aquarium setting up our wedding arch. She said they don't normally do that but it wouldn't be a problem. The day of the aquarium refused to set up the arch. Thankfully my made of honor's boyfriend happened to drop by and see that the aisle and arch had not been set up yet. After the wedding we got our deposit back quickly and had no problems.
