I would definitely give Michaels five stars! I was there at least once a week while planning my wedding. Everything from toule to place cards. I made my thank you notes, programs, table cards, seating cards, card stands, decor and I'm sure a million other things that I'm forgetting right now. They did accept my expired coupons as well, and as much as I tried to clear them out (joke) they always seemed to be in stock. Especially the one in Fairfax, by the BJs wholesale club. I also got a lot of great ideas for my wedding by just browsing through the aisles. I highly recommend any new bride taking a stroll down their aisle.

I bought my husband's wedding ring here, a simple Paladium band. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. They are a little pricey, but deliver a uniquely family owned feel to their customer service. I enjoyed my experience there and have been back a few time for other jewelry purchases. I would recommend them if you don't mind paying a little more for quality service.

My husband bought my engagement ring here and we got completely taken for a ride. We bought a 4.5 carat diamond from these liars and not only got a false appraisal, but were point blank lied to. We tried to sue them, but they are a slimey family owned business that make it impossible to collect a settlement from. BEWARE! DO NOT do business with these people. The man who sold us our diamond was named Michael Bouremy, a total thief and unprofessional swindler.

I had labels made for my party favors that I ordered from this site and was totally thrilled with them! They turned out SO well, seriously. I put them on our party favor boxes (chinese take out food boxes), they had beautiful orchids on them with our names and wedding date. They were really cheap and were mailed to us the next day! I was really impressed and thought it was the perfect touch!

I had custom fortune cookies made for the favors of my wedding. I ordered them over the internet and they came out perfectly! I ordered fortune cookies dipped in green chocolate with white candy hearts on them (they were really pretty trust me) with a custom fortune inside. They came individually wrapped, on time and not one of them was broken! I also ordered transparent green take-out boxes to put them in, which also came out great! I will definitely use them again in the future! So cute!

I bought the flowers for my wedding at Wegman's Floral Shop. There was an extremely large selection of flowers and colors. The coordinator there is WONDERFUL! She was SO helpful and creative. I got all of my bouquets and boutonnieres there at a very reasonable price. The flowers were fresh, on time, and exactly how I wanted them to be. They were also about 60% cheaper than what others were quoting me. I had a destination wedding, so they gave me large buckets of water to keep the flowers in, so they'd stay fresh as I drove and eventually put them in a refrigerator. They were just gorgeous for the wedding! Definitely a not well known gem.

I rented my husband's and groomsmen's tuxedos through this Men's Warehouse and had a great experience. The staff were helpful, professional and precise. They worked with us on fittings and helped us pick out the perfect styles.
They also let us use more than one coupon to get a better price for the multiple tuxedo rentals. I would recommend their services to anyone!

I had an okay experience buying my wedding dress here. I was VERY happy with the dress itself, the fit, selection and alterations. The second and third time I visited the store I had a great experience with the sales staff. The first visit however, was unpleasant. They did not allocate enough time for me to try on dresses and when I was still undressing a woman poked her head in and asked me and my mother and sister-in-law to leave because they needed the space for another appointment. She wasn't very nice about it and I had only been there an hour and fifteen minutes. I'd recommend going in on a weekday when this is less likely.
The prices were high, but on par with the rest of Northern Virginia, DC area.

I had my wedding cake made by Charm City Cakes in Spring of 2007. I was ridiculously disappointed with my cake, their customer service, and my overall experience. I saw their show on the food network and thought they would be perfect to create my dream of a fortune cookie cake. Boy was I wrong.
We went in for the "tasting" to be greeted by Duff, who was incredibly rude to us and made it seem like we were interrupting his work by giving us our cake samples. Granted we were not their biggest clients, but they didn't need to be so obviously rude about it. He begrudgingly handed us samples wrapped in tin foil and sent us on our way, to walk across the street to a nearby restaurant and try them ourselves. The day before the wedding we picked the cake up. Wow. It looked like a giant elephant turd and tasted about the same (I'm guessing). It was HORRIBLE! What a waste of money. My guests were polite enough not to say anything until much later. I had been telling everyone that Ace of Cakes from the food network would be doing our cake and how cool it would be, HA! Yea right.
Total rip off. They have completely let their newly found notoriety go to their heads and I'd put safe money on the fact that they'll be out of business as quickly as they started. Treating people like that does NOT promote return service. Two thumbs down.

I had my wedding here last spring (2007). It was an amazing fairytale of a wedding and a perfect venue!
The wedding planner was relatively helpful, although I did the majority of the planning myself. We put our guests up in the Chateau, townhouses and Walden Pond Estate. That ran a pretty penny but was worth every cent. At Nemacolin you really get what you are paying for. It's top shelf everything and first class service like you've never seen.
We had a three day event wedding: a private dinner the night before, the wedding with reception, and a brunch the following morning. Our reception was held at Mulligan's on the gold course over looking the water. The food was amazing, although looking back on it I would order more appetizers, they were a little on the skimpy side. The main buffet was amazing! The Nemacolin portion of our wedding ran about $30,000.00, but like I said before, was an amazing experience at a magical place.
For a grooms gift, I bought my husband a lifetime ownership of a humidor in their Scotch & Cigar Bar. They hand paint the owner's name on the outside, let me pick the number corresponding to our wedding date and put a big bow around it.
I also bought necklaces of the Nemacolin signature 'fatbird' for my bridesmaids at Nemacolin's jewelry store, Hardy & Hayes. My husband also purchased my Bride's gift there. They were SO accomodating that they allowed me to pick out any jewelry pieces I wanted to wear for not only my wedding day, but for the dinner party the night before also. It was a truly amazing experience!
