I am in total agreement with the 1 prior review on this page. Mike from Sunseri's was responsive, professional and a pleasure to work with. I wish I could give more stars under "value for cost" and "quality of service" because the open bar price per person was a great deal (especially considering our drink heavy guest list and our grey goose upgrade) and the bartenders were incredibly personable and professional.
The only thing I would note is to inform Sunseri's if you have a signature drink. Ours was an amstel light and a shot of jameson. We neglected to tell Mike this and we ran out of Jameson half way into the evening. I don't blame Sunseri's for this though, we really do have a drink heavy group of friends and he had no way of knowing that they would all be ordering shots of Jameson!
THANKS MIKE!!!

Nancy Kay's cakes are pricey, but DELICIOUS and DELECTABLE. We went with NK Confections because her cakes simply taste the BEST, and Nancy was willing to customize our 3 flavored (red velvet, mint chocolate chip, and strawberry cream) 4 tiered cake. NK Confections doesnt' usually make a mint chocolate chip cake, but I told her that was my fiance's favorate and she was happy to accomodate. Our wedding cake was on time and tasted great! Also, Nancy was so thoughtful and in addition to sending us home with our top tier (for our anniversary), she sent us home with up some extra red velvet (asside from the wedding cake itself) for our enjoying days after.
The only reason why I gave 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because though our cake tasted great, it didn't look quite like I had imagined (especially considering the premium price). We had discussed a large grey ribbon boardering the tiers and we had a thin grey ribbon instead. I had sent her an image of the stamped flower we used on our invitations for her to pipe onto our cake and she ended up going with a different free hand flower (that looked, to be honest, a little rushed and messy) instead. Though the cake didn't look quite like I had imagined, it fit fine in our "more fun than fancy" Malibu wedding and we ate it up (yum)!

Event Professionals catered my 8/14/10 wedding and I am so glad they did! Donaji and Noorean were professional, easy to work with, very responsive and just really nice people. We went with Event Professionals because of all the raving reviews here on project wedding, the competitive price and the comprehensive nature of their services (we got married at a private residence, so the more comprehensive the better). One additoinal bonus to having a comprehensive vendor like Event Professionals is the ease in adding on last minute unexpected items. For example, we had anticipated our wedding day being really hot, but during our day-before rehearsal we found it to be quite windy and chilly instead. It was easy for our coordinator to add 4 heat lamps on the fly. On our wedding day, Event Professionals had everything set up on time, the food was excellent, their rental items (chivari chairs/linens/plateware/silverware etc.) were a step above and the server staff was super friendly. And the weather ended up being gorgeous so we didn't really need the heat lamps after all, but it certainly was nice having them there just in case. We had our own wedding planner who had never worked with Event Professionals before and they worked together fabulously. Donaji and Noorean really aim to please and we had the "more fun than fancy" wedding of our dreams.

I had the pleasure of recently attending a wedding that Event Professionals catered and they were consistently just as AWESOME. The food was again excellent and the server staff was again super friendly.

Obviously I would highly recommend Event Professionals for your wedding day, or any other large party needs. I'm looking forward to the next big event when I will have the opportunity to work with Event Professionals again.

Crash DJ'd our wedding ceremony and reception and he is AWESOME--less pricey than most of the other DJs out there, very professional, talented, timely, played our songs and really knew how to read our crowd. He was an excellent MC and was spot on with his DJ music selection. After dinner and until the very end, there was a non-stop dance party (well, except for when "smells like teen spirit" came on, but I blame the down time on my husband who made the special request =)). We're so glad we went with DJ Crash, he really made our evening and seriously ROCKED IT! We've received a ton of compliments from guests on how our wedding set the bar and how it was the best they've ever been to, and thanks no doubt in part to DJ Crash. Obviously, we highly recommend Crash to any engaged couples out there looking for a reliable, responsive, kick-ass DJ who really knows what he's doing. And as a person, he is as thoughtful as they come.
THANKS CRASH, FOR EVERYTHING!!!

There being only 2 reviews here is really misleading. Crash posts most of his testimonials (and there are a ton) to his website. Check them out: http://www.djcrash.com/Testimonials.html

We are so glad Rev. Clint officiated our wedding. He's organized, calm, warm and charming, and our ceremony was PERFECT. Leading up to the wedding, reverend clint was super responsive and very helpful in walking us step by step in the ceremony drafting process. Reading our vows was hands down our most memorable part of the wedding, and we were pleasantly surprised by how special and sentimental the moment was/has become.
Thanks Rev. Clint!
Malibu Rancho Del Cielo is an AMAZING location and I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. The ocean bluff views are STUNNING, the grounds are green and the layout is perfect for weddings. The sunset view is picture perfect and there are a ton of prime photo op spots on the property. We've received so many compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed the view, the vibe and the venue. Because this is a private residence wedding planning takes a lot more footwork than other venues and there are a number of of hidden costs (i.e., purchasing the insurance, lighting, generators, chair/table rentals, dance floor rental, shuttles, parking, site coordinator and garbage/clean-up, etc.-- which can add up to an additional $7K). But the venue really is stunning and worth the extra time and bucks.
That said, I read the cautions about Avesta (the mandatory cite coordinator--who handles items like showing you the venue, having you sign up the contract, shuttles and parking, and being present on the day of) before booking and would have to agree with the other reviewers in this regard. In showing the venue and signing up our contract, Avesta was very responsive, and on the day of, Avesta was present and plesant; however, she was difficult to get a hold of (sending a lot of follow up emails sometimes does the trick) and incredibly unorganized/scattered during the time between signing our contract (December 2009) and our actual wedding date (August 2010). For example, our shuttles booked through Avesta showed up at the wrong hotel initially and as a result some guests were 45 minutes late to the ceremony. Also, there was a whole lot of confusion regarding whether or not we would need generators in addition to those that our caterers were providing, and the confusion basically stemmed from Avesta telling our caterers one thing and Avesta telling me the complete opposite. I think Avesta means well, she just gets really busy and scattered sometimes.
Notwithstanding Avesta, if I could do it all over again, I would get married at Malibu Rancho Del Cielo over and over again. Our guests eventually got there in time for the ceremony and we had power for the lights/DJ on our big day. The weather was gorgeous, we had a star studded team of other vendors and had the "more fun than fancy" of our dreams (thanks large in part to our above and beyond wedding coordinator Amber Events). Avesta also offers her wedding coordinator services in addition to her cite coordination services and I would advise any brides to be to go with Amber Events instead. Amber is familiar with the venue, is familiar with Avesta and is truly amazing.

Chiali is TRULY TALENTED at making brides beautiful. She did my hair and makeup for both my American wedding (8/14/10)and Chinese reception (8/20/10), and I am so THRILLED that she did! On both occasions I received a lot of compliments about how stunning I was, I felt beautiful, I was comfortable and my hair and makeup stayed through the evening (even after too many toasts to count and lots and lots of dancing). I've heard that makeup artists are notorious for either arriving late or miscalculating how long it would take to do hair/makeup. Chiali met me at my hotel the morning of my American wedding, she was one time (a little early even), and I together with my 4 bridesmaids and mom were done right on schedule. Don't let how young she looks fool you, she's had 10+ years of professional experience in the field and it shows. Plus Chiali is SOOOO sweet and calming, a real pleasure to have around on such a momentus and oftentimes hectic day. I've already recommended her to a number of engaged gal pals and unfortunately, Chiali was booked for their wedding dates. Obviously, I think Chiali is AMAZING and I would recommend her to any brides to be (but don't delay, she gets booked up pretty early on).
Amber coordinated the BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES and we are so grateful! Seriously, we probably enjoyed our wedding more than any guest in attendance (lucky us, how many brides and grooms get to say that?), and that is no small feat considering what a blast everyone had (we’ve received so many compliments about how our wedding set the bar and that it was the best they’ve ever been to).
Getting married at Malibu Rancho Del Cielo (a private residence in the Malibu hills) involved a lot more footwork than your typical wedding (I mean, we had a separate team of people for almost everything—venue rentals, catering, shuttles, officiating, flowers, bartending, DJ, photographer, hair and make-up, accommodations and cake, etc.). In addition to organizing our laundry list of vendors, Amber guided us every step of the way (and I would be remiss if I did not add, with a happy-to attitude and in a seemingly effortless manner).
Amber is AWESOME and AMAZING for so many reasons—- she is super responsive, she made me feel like it was normal to send her a mazillion emails with questions, her vendor recommendations and creative/practical suggestions were spot on, we loved her sense of style and romance, she fed us wine from her personal reserve at our details meeting (how thoughtful/cool is that?), she has a fun personality combined with an impressive organizational gift, and most importantly, we didn’t worry about a thing on our wedding day (other than some PCH traffic, which Amber totally warned us about ;)).
We found our venue and then we found Amber, and all the other details seemed to fall into perfect place. Our “more fun than fancy” wedding was everything we hoped for and more. Going with Amber Events was the best wedding related decision we made during the planning process, and obviously, we highly recommend Amber Events to anyone looking for kick-ass coordinator.
p.s. THANK YOU AMBER, FOR EVERYTHING!!!!
